What reviewers actually said
Built only from these 120 real reviews (foreign ones translated). Superscripts jump to the quote here. Apple has no per-review links, so [ref] opens that app's reviews on the App Store.
- [R3] Bloomberg Videos don’t play: You tap a video and it pops up a page with a still frame at the top, a description, and up next below that. No video ever plays
- [R7] Bloomberg Paying for a broken app: Pay an exorbitant subscription for the right to view the headline but not the article. They broke the app and now none of the articles open when you click them.
- [R10] Bloomberg The fact that the app’s most basic function, opening articles, is broken tells you everything.: The fact that this is supposed to be the mecca of financial journalism, covering trillions of dollars across the global economy, is laughable at this point. With the sheer number of bugs, the app feels more like BuzzFeed than a serious financial news platform. There’s embarrassing, and then there’s this.
- [R13] Bloomberg App is broken: While it’s always been a little buggy, the latest update broke the app so that you can not click a link to get to an underlying story. No links work at all. If you close the app and relaunch it repeatedly, you can get it to work for a couple of minutes, before it locks up again. Please fix this. And test before you deploy. I am on iOS 26.5.1 on an iPhone 17 Pro
- [R6] Bloomberg Good, but bad streaming audio: The app is fine, but the experience of streaming audio is awful. Too many clicks and once you’re listening, it’s awful having to restart after taking a phone call (if it’s longer than 60 seconds). You cannot just hit play. You have to kill the app, navigate back to audio, then hit play one or two times, listen to a whole new ad, then you’re back.
- [R16] Bloomberg Full of bugs: This is one of the most bug-ridden apps i use. Audio playback is a disaster.
- [R40] Bloomberg Bloomberg App Review: Bloomberg needs to do a better job with its app, especially with the live media streaming section. The live media section does not work 100% of the time, which is very frustrating when you paid to obtain current market information via its shows (Bloomberg Surveillance, etc.). The app also on occasion unexpectedly quits / freezes. Bloomberg LP should be able to do better.
- [R9] Bloomberg Ads: Bloomberg's articles are consistently excellent. However, I am a paying subscriber, and still see ads inserted in between paragraphs of the articles. Even if the ads aren't too intrusive, I believe seeing ads at all with a paid subscription is unacceptable.
- [R22] Bloomberg Pay to get ad spam!: I paid a lot of money to get this because I thought it would be more value able than the drama daily stock news, however, this paid app is just full of commercials and ads and it’s bearable to watch.
- [R24] Bloomberg Commercials disrupt board casting: Commercials frequently disrupt the board-casting and app frozen. I am a paid-user and should not experience this
- [R1] Bloomberg Huge Fail: You have totally screwed up the best financial app ever. The new version has erased my watchlists!!!
- [R18] Bloomberg Keeps logging me out: This app keeps logging me out and then I have to re-login and it always asks me to personalize my preferences every time and it’s really annoying. I’m just trying to play Alphadots!
- [R21] Bloomberg Login issues: Each time when I back from abroad and wanna check sth, popping out saying I need to login again
- [R27] Bloomberg Access problem: Starting yesterday, I am no longer able to see my free watchlist. Itasks me to login, which doesn’t work or to get a paid subscription. What has changed?
- [R36] Bloomberg Search is abysmal: The app’s search is incredibly bad. It’s pretty unpredictable what results you get. It’s impossible to find certain authors, try finding Matt Levine’s newsletter on the app. It’s also impossible to click on a byline to view all articles by a reporter. The website already supports both these features. I’m not sure why the app can’t do the same.
- [R44] Bloomberg Insightful, but annoying search algorithm: Bloomberg’s articles are often a combination of reporting and opinion. When I know the title of an article, it’s often easier to use Google search than to use Bloomberg’s search tool.
- [R19] Bloomberg Biased and Unfair…. Not worth the only political views and ads!: Bloomberg’s biases are obvious unfortunately…
- [R34] Bloomberg Biased: Bloomberg editorial and staff are biased. There is zero focus on journalism and it’s all about broadcasting their political views. It’s distasteful, discouraging, and disrespectful.
- [R48] Bloomberg Too much politics: I agree with much of the politics expressed on Bloomberg. Much as I agree with many of the journalists, it is not however why I pay for Bloomberg. The balance needs to be adjusted with slightly less politics and slightly more long term investment views.
- [R52] CNN CNN: CNN provides timely news coverage and keeps me informed about important events happening around the world.
- [R55] CNN Great response: I had given the 3 stars this morning when all of the sudden I was getting a message telling me to Subscribe when my subscription was good until next May. I could not get it to work on either iPad or iPhone. The AI system provided a way to email for help. They responded quickly and were able to unlock my account. Thank you for all your help.
- [R66] NYTimes Such a Great App: The New York Times app has lots of great articles every day I would highly recommend
- [R68] NYTimes Well curated: If you like your news well curated, the times is for you
- [R69] NYTimes Truthful, and accurate news source: I am continually inspired by the New York Times for its unwavering commitment to thorough and accurate reporting. In an age where information can often be muddied, the Times stands as a beacon of integrity and journalistic excellence. Their dedication to uncovering the truth not only informs the public but also empowers us to engage with the world around us. Eac
- [R75] NYTimes Some bias but you don’t have to click on it: I’ve learned the opinion pieces are pretty liberal, but I don’t have to click on the links to read the articles. So no thanks to opinions! The news does mostly stick to the news with sometimes some micro aggressions towards Trump or conservatives. I just roll my eyes and move on. But overall I read the morning newsletter I get in my email and evening ne
- [R83] CNBC Please Add A stock market Widget For IPhone: This App Is wonderful the Benifits of knowledge is awesome I just wish it had some Widgets for I can see the updates faster thank you
- [R88] CNBC Mute the annoying music: CNBC’s programming is excellent, especially with a Prime membership, it really elevates the viewing experience. However, I do wish they would mute the music or switch to a more calming, visually appealing background when blocking commercials. It would make the experience feel much more polished and enjoyable.
- [R90] CNBC Good Investment Information: I enjoy listening to the information shared but i gave it a 3 because there are to many commercials for the high price subscription.
- [R97] Yahoo Finance It good: Why use lot word when few word do trick
- [R100] Yahoo Finance Best of all financial advice: Best financial tracking and best portfolio review and 💯accuracy
- [R103] Yahoo Finance Works fine: Works well on my phone.
- [R106] Yahoo Finance Easy to use: I think this app is very user-friendly
- [R108] The Wall Street Journal. News Sustainable business went dark: Always have appreciated the quality of reporting especially with the Sustainable Business section. Too bad they took it out.
- [R111] The Wall Street Journal. News They solved the comments issue: They finally solved seeing comments in the app. Thank goodness.
- [R117] The Wall Street Journal. News Comments?: It’s a great read, these days, but I have to use the mobile site rather than the app because the app, inexplicably in 2026, doesn’t show reader comments.
- [R120] The Wall Street Journal. News Please Add Playback Speed Option To Audio: Love the app, love your reporting. Love listening to articles. Please add an option to adjust audio playback speed and make it so my selection is saved so I don’t have to set it for each article. Keep up the great work
- [R42] Bloomberg Bloomberg app is broken ….: When I try to read an article today (Sunday, June 1 2025) the app closes itself. Longtime paying subscriber and ordinarily quite pleased with the app, but something is messed up today.
