ThinkUp-Daily Affirmations app vs Gratitude
Gratitude is the better choice for most users due to its comprehensive features, positive impact on mental health, and strong community, despite some recent technical issues.
Gratitude offers a wide range of features including journaling, prompts, affirmations, and vision boards, which users find highly effective for mental well-being. ThinkUp, while also focused on affirmations, has no user reviews to support its features or effectiveness.
Head to head
You are specifically looking for an affirmations app and are willing to try ThinkUp without the benefit of user reviews to guide your decision.
Evidence note: ThinkUp has no user reviews provided, making a direct comparison difficult and heavily skewing the evidence towards Gratitude. The lifetime ratings for Gratitude are very high, but recent reviews are heavily impacted by a severe bug where the app reinstalls itself after deletion.

- [R16] Gratitude My Favorite App!: I have used this app for years and suggested it to other others. I love how I can add photos. My gratitude lists become a memory journal of all that’s good in my life. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
- [R18] Gratitude I love this app (especially the Vision Board feature!): I appreciate the prompts, and challenges, to write ✍️ and remember the many things I have to be grateful for. I especially love the vision board feature - so worth subscribing to the Pro version for this feature! ❤️ So much love and care has gone into making and continuing to improve this app. Highly recommend 🙏
- [R46] Gratitude Just what I needed in 2026: i’ve been using this app for about a week, and I am really enjoying it. It helps me focus on specific aspects that I need working self-care, relationship, relationships, work, stress. It’s helping me express myself through the journal prompts, there’s so much more than just journaling. there’s blogs, there’s newsletter, there’s classes that you can take. It’s much more
- [R49] Gratitude No. 1 🏆: This is my favorite app! It has so many wonderful facets to it. From the journal and prompts (which are super helpful), to the Affirmations and Daily Zen quotes, and “Think Better” memes (I save almost all of them), to the daily “thank you” (which I use a lot for my random acts of kindness). Also love that you can create vision boards. This app has it all and is very user friendly!
- [R7] Gratitude DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP: I will contact the BBB, as I have never downloaded this app and now every time I delete it, it shows up back on my Home Screen every other day, unauthorized.
- [R8] Gratitude best app: simple, adorable UI, no subscriptions. by far better than any other
- [R11] Gratitude Can’t delete : I’ve deleted this app many times, and it keeps coming back. Every. Single. Day. I’m not sure how you could mess up so badly that your app is acting as a sort of virus, but I (and at least a few others) would really appreciate it if you’d make it your top priority to fix it. It’s a good app, sure, but not so good that I should be forced to have it downloaded… Do something about this
- [R13] Gratitude Gratitude: So confusing does not let you do little shows and takes up my storage
- [R2] Gratitude Excellent for Mental Health: This app is creative and effective in improving mental health.
- [R20] Gratitude Awesome app reminds me twice daily, 8am and 8pm: Journaling my gratitude I feel closer to God. It actually boosts my spirit for the he day each morning, and I rest easy at night before bed
- [R26] Gratitude Favorite app: I really enjoy the app. The widget is one of my favorite parts of the app. I can move through my pictures right on the Home Screen. The only thing I would change is being able to add more pictures to the widget. I would give this app 10 stars if I could. I recommend this app. Really helps with my anxiety.
- [R34] Gratitude A Daily Practice: I began using gratitude a few years ago. Having the opportunity to find something to be grateful for on a daily basis has changed my outlook. I now find myself content with life as it is not as I want it to be.
- [R6] Gratitude Great App, No Support: I have enjoyed the app for several years, but when I had an issue with losing entries in process of moving to a new phone, I have reached out to their support 3-4 times at least y email and through the app and have gotten zero response. So I don’t know whether the development team is gone or what the story is, but it makes me question whether I want to keep paying for the
- [R15] Gratitude App that won’t go away: I have to delete this app every day because it will not go away. I deleted I come back a few hours later and it’s back on my screen. Sometimes I delete and the next day is back on my screen.
- [R5] Gratitude Love it!: Really worth it!
- [R12] Gratitude Best free app ever: I love it
- [R17] Gratitude Forcing a purchase: My phone did an update the app is trying to force me to buy a plan to restore data (saved on my phone & the cloud)
- [R28] Gratitude AUDHD Approved (tentatively): I usually struggle with gratitude journals because they either feel too forced or boring. So far, I like the challenge I am currently working on, and I really like the prompts. You can add your own affirmations free and the daily zen section has enough content to scroll through each day and find a reading topic or a usable/relevant affirmation. If the subscription we
- [R33] Gratitude What??: Writing an entry for a past day is a pro feature? So now I’m supposed to pay you to write one line of text or lose over a year long streak? Nope! I’ll go to a different app instead.
- [R19] Gratitude Unable to delete: The app has an auto-redownloading and comes back every day after I deleted it (and now it’s getting worse even twice a day!) Please understand some users just no longer need the app. If there’s a bug please fix it soon. Very annoying user experience.
- [R14] Gratitude Love this app!: It keeps me grounded and I look forward to the reminders. The prompts are so thought provoking for me. It’s quick and so user friendly! I highly recommend this!
