FollowMyHealth® vs Teladoc Health
Teladoc Health is the better choice for immediate telehealth consultations and a generally smoother user experience, despite some app glitches, while FollowMyHealth® struggles with consistent functionality and provider connectivity.
Teladoc Health excels in providing quick access to doctors for consultations and prescriptions, though users report occasional app freezes and issues with specific features like food diaries. FollowMyHealth®, while praised for its ability to track health information and communicate with doctors, suffers from significant and frequent problems with viewing results, messaging, and overall app reliability.
Head to head
You need an app primarily for tracking your health progress, medications, and appointments, and your healthcare provider specifically uses FollowMyHealth® and you are willing to tolerate significant app inconsistencies and potential lack of direct messaging capabilities R5.
You prioritize quick, on-demand virtual doctor visits for general medical concerns, prescriptions, or mental health support and are comfortable with a telehealth model, even if the app itself can be glitchy .
Evidence note: Both apps have a high lifetime rating, but recent reviews for both are heavily skewed negative, indicating significant ongoing issues. Teladoc Health has a much larger volume of reviews, which might contribute to a broader range of reported issues. The free-to-download nature of both apps means that negative reviews often stem from friction with the service or app functionality, rather than direct payment issues, though Teladoc does have complaints about unexpected charges for consultations or devices .

- [R1] FollowMyHealth® Can’t View Results: Well part of this is useful. You can request refills. You can make appointments. But viewing any results is iffy at best. There are instructions to “click on the link above to review results”. Except there usually is no link. Occasionally there is a link but no way to click it because it’s non-functional.
- [R2] FollowMyHealth® It's very good; I’m just asking for this one improvement 🙏🏽: It’s an excellent app that works very well, but I would LOVE an update that allows opening and viewing the actual test result files (images), such as MRIs, CT scans, and X-rays, instead of just the written description.
- [R4] FollowMyHealth® Very difficult to use: Not easy to read or see documents, labs and imaging.
- [R5] FollowMyHealth® Working towards being healthy: This app helps me to check my meds, appt , and vitals. My goal is track to progress.
- [R7] FollowMyHealth® Worst app ever: The app does not work. It will not allow me to connect with my doctor, who doesn’t even show up in the list of providers even though he is affiliated with Northwell Health. His office sends me emails saying I have a new message but nothing is ever there. I have tried everything over the past few months, deleting my profile and signing in with a new email and password but nothing wo
- [R10] FollowMyHealth® Taking 6 digit passcode from email back to App has erased that page on App.: When going thru the Follow my Health App for a new password after completing new password-then you receive code back in email-then you go back to app and find out that page is gone. Very frustrating. I am working from my IPhone 13, my Follow my Health App is up to date. Pls fix!
- [R21] FollowMyHealth® Not a bad app: Displays the information I need it to and easy to use. I couldn’t ask for more
- [R3] FollowMyHealth® Needs bug fix update: Usually the app works like a charm, but today I was unable to renew any prescriptions and also unable to email doctor. Not sure what’s wrong, but would be nice if app support Would make it right again.
- [R6] FollowMyHealth® No notifications: I like what this app has to offer, but I am removing two stars because notifications outside of the app are not available. I have to actually open the app to see if there’s something new or if my doctors office has messaged me.
- [R13] FollowMyHealth® Inconsistent: App has gotten pretty bad lately. No option to reply to messages, send a message or request a refill. I have to waste time calling the MD office. Not good
- [R18] FollowMyHealth® Has limited information and no support: Can't see bills, can't send a message doesn't have your appointments can't get support you go to that tab and it has no information on how to obtain support. Needed to email the provider and messages is greyed out. Useless app.
- [R24] FollowMyHealth® Constant Problems: Talk about constant problems & errors… too many to list. And when we contact “support”, the response is a minimum of a week, if not weeks later. Just now, I went to the support desk and it’s having technical difficulties and is unable to assist. #BeyondDisappointing
- [R32] FollowMyHealth® Follow My Health: This app is absolutely terrible. It’s impossible to navigate, the support or help offered is really non existent and good luck to you if you really need to access your info. I get daily emails telling me my records have been updated, log in to see what has been added, but the answer is nothing. My doctor suggested me using it, I told him I did and it’s awful and he apologized and
- [R63] Teladoc Health One person only: I like the devices. They are easy to setup. I don’t care for this app. If anyone else uses the device connected to your app then their data ends up in you. Annoying. There’s some adjustment that can be made for the data associated with the scale but tech support there’s no way to remove the data associated with the blood pressure. This should be an easy task to have multipl
- [R17] FollowMyHealth® Helpful & convenient!: This is perfect to be able to see your medical records and all info for appointments, and more in a quick, private way.
- [R81] Teladoc Health Update feedback: Just letting you guys know after the most recent update the app won’t show me upcoming visits and crashes
- [R82] Teladoc Health this app is HORRIBLE: this app is absolutely a nightmare. It is the glitches thing I’ve ever used. It’s always freezing. I get error messages when I try to do important things sometimes I can’t see my provider. Sometimes the provider can’t see me and you would think with all these updates that it would change, but it doesn’t. Unfortunately, I do have to use this app, but it is a very dreadful expe
- [R89] Teladoc Health Too many issues: App wasn’t working, had to call and go through every detail around resetting my account. They had to like reset it to my “new” insurance which hasn’t changed in 10years. Million questions for my daughter on the app before they would see her. Could have gone to urgent care. Wasn’t always like this. Simple guys. Touch the app, it opens, Face ID, request appointment. That’s your va
- [R93] Teladoc Health Absolute trash whoever made it should be fired the glitches in here are crazy: Absolute trash whoever made it should be fired the glitches in here are crazy I dropped out of computer science school and I could have done better
- [R12] FollowMyHealth® Messages: Needs a way to reply back to a message
- [R20] FollowMyHealth® Can’t message anymore since update: The app was great. No longer so. My wife’s doc no longer shows up on her app and mine won’t let me message
