adidas Running vs ASICS Runkeeper, Run Tracker
ASICS Runkeeper is generally more reliable for core tracking features and offers better training programs, making it the stronger choice for dedicated runners, despite some recent app issues.
ASICS Runkeeper boasts a long history of reliable tracking and effective training programs, appealing to serious runners, though recent updates have introduced bugs. adidas Running offers engaging reward points and a user-friendly interface but struggles with consistent GPS, heart rate monitoring, and overall app stability.
Head to head
Evidence note: Both apps have a mix of positive and negative recent reviews, with many long-term users expressing frustration over recent updates that have introduced bugs and removed features. The free-vs-paid asymmetry is present in ASICS Runkeeper, where some negativity stems from limitations of the free tier or changes to previously free features.

- [R8] adidas Running Best running app: I love how easy it makes it to track your runs and how each mile gives you points that you can eventually redeem for stuff like percent offs or even whole gifts if you get enough points.
- [R21] adidas Running Why are bikers second class citizens?: The app generally works well, but community events and challenges are basically limited to runners and walkers. I mostly bike, so why can’t I have monthly challenges to earn points or join community challenges? Also, on a much more minor point, the calorie conversions to foods is fun, but should include more food examples and lower calorie thresholds for the
- [R27] adidas Running DEVELOPERS PLEASE READ!: UPDATE: Below I have 3 issues listed. Number 2 has been solved. BUT, number one and three are still major issues. That would be really easy to fix and development and make this app so much better. 1. EDIT EXERCISE BASED ON LOCATION: sometimes I’ll go on a hike and I’m packing everything up, getting my dog ready, saying goodbye to friends, leaving in separate cars…. An
- [R33] adidas Running Few Missing features: I like the app, but please add support for the AirPods Pro 3 HR monitor, and for a dark app theme 🙏
- [R2] adidas Running Easy: Very easy to use on all ages
- [R5] adidas Running Appreciation: I love everything about this app
- [R35] adidas Running So good: Love how it is so fluent
- [R42] adidas Running Should automatically pause: The app is annoying because the run is not automatically paused when stopping quick
- [R1] adidas Running GPS is trash: GPS was weak and didn’t record my first mile which was probably my fastest mile yet. Very frustrating. I’m not a super star athlete but I do want to see my improvement. Nike app wouldn’t do me like this.
- [R10] adidas Running Heart rate display and tracking stopped working.: It is not the watch or the setup as I have used the app for years and not made changes and the heart rate is recorded and tracked in my apple health partner account. Unfortunately, this is a necessity for me and if it’s not going to display, I can’t use it.
- [R11] adidas Running Stroke survivor Neil: The App is great, only complaint is after 4years of walking to get back to my best 1.8m/day ~460 miles of data was deleted without notification. Love to get it back to measure my progress.
- [R12] adidas Running Enjoy the app but…: This app’s ability to capture actual walking speed is faulty.
- [R26] adidas Running Adi Club revived my running streak: Adi Club challenges and reward points keep me engaged with my workout routine and the brand I love.
- [R31] adidas Running Running: Running is a daily necessity for me so once I had trusted adidas adiClub that was it. I had no reservations until I was asked to use my adiClub point to access Premium and now have to see whether to ask Support daily to help integrate runs from other apps.
- [R41] adidas Running Ability to earn points with running is a good incentive: Saw that it allowed earning points with running so I redownloaded - incentive is great! I like the one mile audio cues.
- [R4] adidas Running The July 2026 30K goal is MIA: The July 2026 30K goal is MIA, and as luck would have it, so is the support and feedback page so this is the only place to report bugs.
- [R34] adidas Running Support and some features disappeared: There is no longer an ability to report issues. Garmin activity is synced but the points stopped accumulating on 4/30/26 and 5/1/26. There is also no ability to upload a .gpx file anymore.
- [R40] adidas Running Poorly designed: The app it not showing my progress in challenges but shows it outside. There is nowhere to report this glitch.
- [R55] adidas Running Technical Issues: I’ve been having technical issues with my log in and premium features for about 5 months. And have yet to get any type of resolution from support.
- [R17] adidas Running Love this app...: Love 💕 this app! I would’ve given it five ⭐️ stars, if ADIDAS/RUNTASTIC would update software to use on my Apple Watch while working out outdoors without carrying iPhone AND making it available to set in my ‘complications’ face-watch! I’ve been using to track my inline-skating workouts! Very few workout apps are compatible (track and sync) inline skating. Thanks for that ADIDAS/R
- [R105] ASICS Runkeeper, Run Tracker Love it but…: I’ve been using Runkeeper for years to track mainly walks but also runs and cycle rides. However recently I’ve found that frequently it fails to connect properly to my heart rate or the gps location. So I end up with a 30 minute workout where I’ve gone nowhere and not changed my heart rate.
- [R6] adidas Running New user experience: I’ve only logged a few runs. The app works well and I like the idea of getting club points for runs. I don’t like that the phone app has to run while using the Apple Watch to track runs. Can this be fixed so I can run without having to use my phone?
- [R18] adidas Running Great App But HR Monitor Broken Now: I love this app. Much better than Apple's default workout app and since I am an Adidas fan, earn points is a really nice added bonus while working on staying fit. Unfortunately, as of a recent patch, the heart rate monitor has stopped detecting anything on the app itself. HR monitor works fine in the regular workout app, so it's not a hardware issue. I have an
- [R44] adidas Running Goldnail: It is an excellent running app providing different level of running programs. My VO2Max index was below average at my age range. After completing several programs, I am at the upper margin of average range now.
- [R74] ASICS Runkeeper, Run Tracker Love it: LOVE the guided workouts on free version. I bought the pro version when I was training for a half marathon and the plan it gave me was awesome and totally worth it for someone who enjoys structure !!
- [R80] ASICS Runkeeper, Run Tracker Don’t stop moving forward!: I have been a loyal customer since I started running approximately 8 years ago. In this time period I ran 4 marathons, 6 half marathons and countless 5k races. Starting from zero to where I am at currently is due to the training programs.
