Password Manager vs Dashlane Password Manager
Dashlane Password Manager (App B) is the better choice for most users due to its more modern interface and reliable syncing, while Password Manager (App A) faces significant user dissatisfaction over its recent subscription model changes and data loss issues.
Password Manager (App A) is a long-standing password manager praised for its security and ease of use, but recent changes to its pricing model and reports of data loss have alienated many long-term users. Dashlane Password Manager (App B) is a popular alternative with a more modern interface and reliable syncing, though direct comparative reviews are limited.
Head to head
Pick Password Manager (App A) if you are a new user who values a secure, easy-to-use app for storing various types of sensitive information, and you are comfortable with its current subscription model R8R15.
Pick Dashlane Password Manager (App B) if you prioritize a modern, fluid interface and are willing to pay a potentially higher subscription fee for a potentially more reliable experience, especially given the significant negative feedback on Password Manager (App A)'s recent changes and data loss issues .
Evidence note: The evidence for Dashlane Password Manager (App B) is very thin, with only one review mentioning it in comparison to Password Manager (App A). The comparison is heavily skewed by the detailed and often negative recent reviews for Password Manager (App A).

- [R15] Password Manager Flexible and Sophisticated: Here is an easy to use password program that is simple to set up and use across all devices. Updates all devices quickly. I love its ability to customize a record. When on a computer I’ve labeled new fields and included PDF documents such as copies of credit cards and insurance info.
- [R31] Password Manager Best Password Manager by far: Both my husband and I have been using this password manager for over 10 years. It’s so easy to both generate and store passwords. But it also keeps copies of insurance cards, drivers license etc. you can keep notes. It keeps the history of the previous passwords. But when my husband passed away suddenly, it was a game changer. The shared vault allowed me to acces
- [R32] Password Manager Disappearing Pro Features: Like others, I paid for the one time pro version a few years ago. When they changed to a subscription model, they moved me to an “essentials” plan that they continually say never lost features. Well slowly but surely things have gone on both iOS and Windows. Can no longer rename fields or make custom fields. For a while they had only removed it from the iOS app and I cou
- [R37] Password Manager Great app: I have used mSecure for a few years and it is a very secure app for my passwords and car, insurance and credit card info. I like that I can customize my records for my needs
- [R6] Password Manager Customer Service is Lacking: It was time to upgrade my iPhone. For the past few years, I’ve always used Face ID to open the app. I’ve switched computers and made the mistake of not keeping the password into the app… my bad. My problem was loading the app to the new phone as Face ID wouldn’t work. I tried numerous times to email for help. They did respond but the answers never seemed to match my q
- [R16] Password Manager Least intuitive, worst syncing: I put up with upgrades and syncing issues for more than 2 years. No more!! I found mSecure to be inconsistent when I moved to a it’s upgrade/new version. My data didn’t move between the desktop and mobile versions. I just ended my subscription!!
- [R25] Password Manager Can’t live without it: I have been using this app for years. More than 10 I believe. It is solid, easy to use,no glitches, well organized. Keeps me from pulling my hair out at times!
- [R5] Password Manager The Best: I don’t know how I would manage my life without this app! Everyday life including work and school life is so password heavy. There’s no way to keep up with it all without a password manager. I’ve been using mSecure for about 15 years. I absolutely recommend it!
- [R8] Password Manager Password security: Best app to keep all of your passwords and logins for multiple items. Such as safe, professional licensing, EMR. Encrypted and safe!!!
- [R12] Password Manager The app erased all my info from 10+ years: I used this free app for 10+ years, trusted all my log in and bank accounts information here. Didn’t open it too often but it was a lifesaver… until it wasn’t. One day I opened the app and it was empty. Don’t waste your money on this app. Just do a blocked note on your phone that is free and it will actually last forever
- [R13] Password Manager Don’t know what I’d do without it: Thank God for mSecure I recommended to everyone. With all the passwords that are needed today what a great tool this is
- [R1] Password Manager Disappointed: Bought a few years ago as a one time payment when downloaded because I didn’t want to deal with apps using subscriptions pricing. Now the old app has stopped working and we are forced to pay a monthly service charge. Very disappointing. I have 250 entry I will have to manually offload/print and input elsewhere
- [R3] Password Manager Always spams an ad to subscribe. annoying.: There should not be constant ads in paid apps, including ads for the publisher's other offerings. 👎
- [R4] Password Manager Annoying Ad-Banner: Even for a paid customer, an annoying upselling ad-banner is forever nagging. Even after closing the banner, the next time you launch the app it will be there.
- [R7] Password Manager DO NOT GET: The system of securing PWs is fine. The problem is they have built in a constant nagging banner trying to upsell premium that pops up every-time you open the app. Everyone complains about it and they emphatically say that they wont remove it. Its best to get Apple or any other one that wont keep trying to force you to give then more money, because its likely they will never stop.
- [R9] Password Manager Need more customer service people: Need more customer service people
- [R10] Password Manager Great but Not: Great secure app. I had over 200 passwords, notes and financial entries then I forgot my password. Reached out customer service and guess what? They cannot reset your password. So if you buy this make sure to write down your password in several different places.
- [R14] Password Manager No Way To Recover!: Keep a hardcopy of every password you put in here and the password to enter the app because there’s no way to recover any of it! Which means there’s really no point in paying for this! No point in the backup either because it all gets destroyed if you need to reset your password. Kept the acct key email for nothing.
- [R46] Password Manager Password recovery: I have loved this app for years. Everything I know has been added over the years. And, for years I’ve used facial recognition to login. I recently got a new phone and my backup didn’t retain biometric data so I had to resort to passwords again and of course I’ve forgotten most, including my Msecure login. That’s why I have Msecure, right? Which brings up my issue…Msecure app d
- [R17] Password Manager PASSWORDS: With the dozens of passwords we need now days, not to mention security, MSecure is the answer!
- [R22] Password Manager Complete Unreliable Garbage: I have used this for years and it just gets worse. Their latest feature is spontaneously deleting records you are working on. I have tried to get off this vendor locked trash but it’s very difficult and they of course will not help to do that. Keep away from this at all costs. You will thank me later.
