Who it's for
Edison Mail is for users who prioritize strong email organization, spam filtering, and a clean interface across multiple accounts R4R6R7R56. It is not for users who require consistent app stability, reliable email syncing, or those concerned about privacy and aggressive monetization tactics R8R27R46.
Evidence note: The recent reviews skew heavily negative regarding stability and syncing issues, directly contradicting the developer's notes about 'performance improvements and issue fixes'. The positive aspects are often from older reviews or users who haven't encountered the recent problems.

- [R4] Organising dream: This is the perfect app for sorting and organising your email accounts. Everything can be in one or separated into sections and files. There is an assistant that can give reminders and hints. It adds a little dollar sign for emails with receipts, a truck for deliveries, plane for travel. It’s very efficient.
- [R7] Best email app ever!!!: The best thing about this app is how it sorts your mail into a focused and other inbox. Literally works perfectly and chooses the exact emails you need to see the most and puts them into your focused inbox. Also unsubscribing and blocking senders is so easy. Literally the best thing to happen to email.
- [R14] Where have you been all my life…: I’ve used them all. Outlook. Apples native email app, gmail, yahoo…. This has every feature I loved from all of them in one. Yahoo don’t let you add iCloud accounts… I’d love to be able to see the source emails the “bill due” assistant is notifying me of in the assistant section. But it just shows when the bill is due. Who to and how much… and the option to forwa
- [R35] Love this compared to Mac Mail: This works really well on my iPhone and separates my newsletters from my important mail very well. If you are fed up with Mac Mail try this.
- [R6] Completely cleaned up spam / unwanted mail: Best email app for sure… checks all accounts and the blocking / spam removal is superb! UPDATE!!! This STILL STOPS ALL SPAM MAIL, AND BLOCKS DODGY EMAIL ADDRESSES!!!
- [R17] Amazing: I really enjoy how easy it is to unsubscribe and delete messages
- [R23] Patrick C: Excellent mail app. Well organized, nice traditional design- fonts etc and everything is accessible and easy to navigate. Added features make it simple to block or unsubscribe from senders; and it hammers nuisance publicity. Boots the sneaky scammers up their palsied posteriors! Ten out of ten.
- [R5] Genuinely excellent E-Mail app: I’ve loved using Edison Email for several years now. It’s got a super clean UI, it’s extremely easy to use, it’s extremely capable and I throughly recommend it. I moved away from the Gmail app and Apple Mail app. 👍🏼
- [R2] Edison- the only one that works: A go to product. Easy to set up and has not let me down.
- [R9] Works but has issues: Lovely user interface and functions but lots of issues present. False email badges on the app appear making you think you have unread email but once opening the app there is no new mail. Deleting mail by swiping is bad because archiving uses the same action. Needs adressing
- [R56] Email heaven: I’ve been using it for a few years and it is perfect to consolidate all your emails. I have about 15 emails connected.
- [R99] Amazing Email Application!!!!: I am a HUGE FAN of Microsoft Outlook, however, after downloading this App and trying it out for couple days, getting use to it. I DO NOT use any other app for emails. I have 5 emails going on this email app and it has NEVER EVER DISAPPOINTED ME IN AT ALL!!! The one thing I would like to be able to do is; have a different signature for ever email I have. You can onl
- [R46] I really want to love it.: I’ve been using this app for a couple of years now and while it’s working it’s wonderful but every 6 months or so it just crashes completely and I have to delete and reinstall which is a total pain. Just did it again today and I’ve finally given up. Can’t open it at all it just crashes. No updates needed. Was working perfectly before.
- [R47] Fine until last update: Last update caused my app to quit repeatedly while opening and I had to reinstall from scratch. Let’s hope the new release (9th June) is properly debugged.
- [R48] Broken following update: No stars as just closes when opened. Updates must be tested. 🥲
- [R49] Crashes when opening: Since the new update I cannot open the app, tried restarting but no luck
- [R10] Stopped working with AOL: Yes I’m a dinosaur with an AOL account which Edison worked perfectly with. Then in the last week it stopped sending my AOL emails. Such a shame as I need AOL so have had to stop using Edison.
- [R11] Worst mail app I’ve used.: This app has caused an email to completely disappear upon sending it (with no outbox Mac). Wasn’t in drafts or nothing. Just gone. Then the mobile version doesn’t let me accept meeting invitations. Pointless app. Don’t bother download.
- [R18] unhappy: used this as my main form for email for a few years now mInly work related emails but for the last month I have not been receiving mail till 4/5 days after they have been sent which is really fristrating me as its all inportant work stuff that I am not receiving 😡
- [R20] Hotmail not working: Great app until a few days ago, now I’m not getting any emails through and when I manually go on the app some come through but there is an error to load the message so have to log in via a browser to read emails. Very frustrating. Have uninstalled and reinstalled the app but nothing :-(
- [R19] Annoying: A year ago I would have given this 5 stars. However, since they have started nagging me to upgrade to include phishing alerts etc. I have been receiving a large amount of spam. Maybe I’m being cynical but I don’t believe in coincidences. Either they had a good spam filter before that they turned off in order to push the upgrade on people or it is just a coincidence.
- [R26] Used to be a great app, but now not so much: Have been using Edison for a few years now and have found it to be pretty much excellent unfortunately that has all changed recently. Keep getting prompts to upgrade to the paid service for free (yes, first month free and then ongoing subscription). Prompts appear every other day or so. How many times do I need to say no? Also after each prompt I find t
- [R27] Trying to get you onto paid app ruined this....: I have used this email client since 2017 without any problems and was until recently happy to continue using it. Unfortunately the company seem so intent now on getting you to upgrade the app has become so buggy that it is slow and unusable. Constant pop ups in the app asking you to start your free trial, constant pop ups telling you how to use it,
- [R72] Love this app..when it’s free.: I love this app..until I gotta pay for it. Then I would deem it unnecessary but that’s just me. And why does it keep not opening/loading and keep glitching. So annoying. Ok bye.
- [R8] Do not use this insecure app from untrustworthy company: In May 2020, a bug and security breach meant your email could appear in other people’s inboxes, and you could see other people’s private emails. This is not a company to be trusted with your data.
- [R28] What a load of bull...: Take back privacy... Yeah right. Got two screens forcing to share data or you can't use the app.
- [R69] Don’t download!: It hacked into my email account and started doing bad things and deleted a bunch of stuff. Also stole my passwords so i have to reset all of them! Don't download
- [R86] Just a question...: Why do you need permission to send our mail? I don’t want that. You don’t need the permission to read our mail, either. It’s just privacy invading.
- [R30] Last update made things very laggy: App performance has gone down the toilet with long delays in opening emails and scrolling
- [R31] Great feature, slow start.: Plenty of reviews talk about the features and how impressive the app is. However I’m knocking it down a star because on the first start of the app (with only 2 accounts) it takes at least 4 seconds to become responsive. You can’t do anything during this period, it’s just hung. Improve that and you get 5 stars.
- [R40] Delay in typing error: Hi guys not sure if you know I’ve had to re download the app because there’s a typing error delay on typing in email. Hopefully the re download will sort it
- [R64] Emails take forever to load: I've never seen this before with other email clients, Edison takes an annoyingly long time to load emails and yet, notifications pop up almost instantly.
- [R33] Can’t attach photos to emails properly: The iPad version behaves very strangely when attaching photos, the controls partially disappear and you cannot choose or remove the photo selected. Closing the app doesn’t improve matters. Not a very good advert for an app they think someone will pay £14.99 a month for a subscription. Apart from the bug attaching photos and the ridiculous monthly subscrip
- [R39] Single notification while offline: I'm getting a single notification per day regardless of how many emails I get. Technical support have no idea what they're talking about. They say it's apple's servers fault even though Apple servers are working fine for all the other apps
- [R42] Almost perfect: After trying many email apps, I love this app and it's speed when using multiple IMAP accounts, but finding the image that you want to attach can feel like mission impossible. Please could it be made easier by having default image locations used? I took a screen capture on my iPhone, but had to rename and move the file before I could find the file after pressing the attach icon.
- [R21] Amazon nonsense everywhere: How do I get rid of all the Amazon rubbish that has infested this once good app?
- [R22] What’s going on?: Up until today I really enjoyed using Edison. It’s a 4 to 5 star app. Then….out of the blue came an annoying new ‘feature’. On every email preview in the left hand column that has a financial connection (like PayPal), a small Trolley icon has appeared followed by: “Tap to connect to Amazon to…” I don’t want to connect to the retail behemoth, not right now anyway, as I’m trying
- [R70] Can snooze, delete ALL at once: Has pretty much all features, if not, more than what the regular mailbox app offers PLUS MORE. The best part it’s FREE. And I’ve been using this for the past 4 years now. It’s great. Never going back unless they start asking to pay.
