Travelocity Hotels & Flights
Travelocity is a decent option for finding good deals on flights and hotels, but users should be aware of significant app stability issues and poor customer service that can make booking and managing trips frustrating.
Travelocity generally offers competitive prices for flights and hotels, making it a good choice for budget-conscious travelers R12R18R20R60. However, the app is plagued with crashing, freezing, and booking errors, and customer service is frequently criticized for being unhelpful, especially with cancellations or changes R3R8R13R28.
Free vs paid
The app is free to download and use for booking travel, with no explicit 'paid tier' mentioned in the reviews. All prices mentioned, ranging from $20 to $2600, appear to be for travel bookings themselves, not app features R1R7R11. Some users complain about hidden fees or price increases during the booking process, or being charged for services they didn't receive R1R7R24R51.

You should skip using Travelocity if you require reliable customer support for changes or cancellations, or if you expect a consistently stable and bug-free app experience R3R8R13R28. Also, avoid if you are sensitive to price fluctuations during booking or concerns about hidden charges R1R7R24R51.
Evidence note: Recent reviews show a significant increase in complaints regarding app functionality and customer service compared to the overall lifetime rating, which is very high. Many positive reviews are short and lack specific details, while negative reviews often provide extensive details about poor experiences.

- [R1] Took long and the price kept going up and up!!: The booking took too long and the price kept going up and up. Had to constantly restart the booking. It took 2 hours to book this trip
- [R57] Be Careful!: Every time you search they collect data and raise the prices. Check directly before you book.
- [R24] Problem with cancellation of insurance: Made reservation and added insurance. Then had to cancel reservation next day. Insurance could not be cancelled. Got credit card to refund but 2 months later fee was added back. Poor business practice. Will not use these services if refunds are not available
- [R53] the worst car rental: Hello, on Thursday, December 5th, I rented a car. I was charged for insurance because I was a driver under 24, but I ended up having to cancel the entire reservation because they didn't have any cars available that day. I'm writing to request a refund for the insurance, as it was never used, and you accepted my reservation even though you knew you didn't have any cars availab
- [R61] Bad: Takes away 1 dollar daily from your bank account
- [R67] Scam: I paid for the ability to check in a bag and now it charged me and I have no written proof that I have paid for a check in bag
- [R50] Price: Price is not that good
- [R106] 3 stars: I’ve been a longtime customer & never received a discount for my trips. If it ever been provided I never got it. I shouldn’t have to take a trip 3-4 a month to get discount or be a vip customer.
- [R51] Travelocity APP: a spy in your phone: Get rid of Travelocity. It adds a "membership fee" and you never know it.
- [R12] Always a great price: Absolutely wonderful
- [R18] Customer since 1999: I have been using Travelocity for international air travel since 1999. Travelocity always had the best flight deals.
- [R20] The best app: Seguro y con excelentes precios..
- [R35] Best vacationing site: Quick, easy & affordable
- [R26] Easy to book anything: I have been using Travelocity for a long time now. Booking tropical locations, hotels, excursions, rentals, and anything in between. Everything has always been spot on. Yet to have an issue and will continue using Travelocity for the best prices and ease of use.
- [R31] Store owner: Easy way to find flights
- [R46] Exceptional travel app: I have used this platform for years upon years. I love to travel, it’s just seamless. I’ve never had a negative experience with Travelocity. I can’t thank you and the developers enough for putting together something so flawless and comprehensive getting the best rates and supportive at the same time to meet the needs of the traveler whether it’s just locally or overseas wel
- [R21] Outstanding Performance: I can’t count how many bookings and trips Travelocity has architected for me. Tha ts because I use them so much… it’s not even a question anymore which site or app it’s simply known to go to the gnome! -AV
- [R54] Geo: I book all of my flights and hotels through Travelocity! Quick, easy and reliable!
- [R60] Best way to book travel at the lowest price point: I’m a planner and like to get the biggest bang for my buck. I love the app’s feature which allows me to select travel dates and it messages me when fares rise or drop. It is amazing fares can change by hundreds of dollars day by day. I tell all my friends to use this app as soon as the decide to plan a trip!
- [R3] App keeps crashing: Since March the app has been crashing every time I search for a hotel the app would crash. I have resorted to using the website . No updates has fixed the problem
- [R8] Bug: So the app keeps going blank white when selecting a hotel to look at the pictures and description.
- [R13] Not opening on IOS: Across all my apple products the app is not opening, and crashing. Takes ages to load and when it does it freezes. Unable to load reservations or search.
- [R28] App unusable lately: My app is a brick lately. I have used it daily for years and for the past few weeks nothing works. My favorites that I’m tracking aren’t there, if I click on flights I can’t search a thing it just spins, that’s IF the click even works and it doesn’t freeze the entire app
- [R7] Disappointment: I am absolutely disgusted with Travelocity. I had a flight cancellation and was told that my wife and I had credits of $198 each. I went to book a flight with the credits. The Travelocity agent, who spoke virtually unintelligible English first told me there would be a $100 fee discounted from the credit. Then she told me the price of the flight i was seeking to book was over $150 m
- [R11] Horrendous customer service!: I went on the chat to see if I could change the return date of my flight, and I was on for 2 hours with 2 different “customer service members” and they told me they were going to charge me another $400 to change my date. I said I should have a credit from yje first date and I would pay the difference. He insisted I owed $400! I refused to pay for basically 3 flights w
- [R22] Poor service/dishonesty: Would not refund my money after booking minutes later. I selected the incorrect dates and they refused to help even when the hotel manager spoke with an agent that stated they would cancel my reservation and allow the hotel to charge me instead. Now they have disputed my dispute and refuse to refund me. Don’t use Travelocity as they do not hold their WORD on refunds!!!
- [R59] Don’t depend on what they show: Our airline tickets were OK and we saved some money - but in spite of reserving our hotel room - they had never heard of us. I was bothered that they didn’t send any confirmation of our hotel reservations and there is no where on the site to ask anything. I don’t think we will be using this again.
- [R62] Garbage: This app is garbage. When I click from the confirmation email to “view my itinerary” it takes me to the app and says I don’t have any trips. Then there’s no way to click around for other options. The AI assistant is horrible. Once it answers (incorrectly) one question the free text box shuts down so you can’t ask any more questions. I can’t get checked into my resort because I don’t have
- [R64] Beware! Travelocity isn’t what it used to be.: On September 15, 2025 my wife and I used the app Travelocity to book a rental car reservation from Sixt to our upcoming Florida family vacation from December 21 2025 to January 1 2026. Immediately after booking the reservation and paying the fee, we noticed on the confirmation email that the rental dates were changed to September 21 to October 1. We i
- [R80] Worst company ever: I booked a room only for one night the app changes the dates on me very last minute I didn’t even notice it went to the hotel and they said that it was booked for next month! I was trying to get away from a domestic violence situation where I feared for myself safety explained the whole situation to them and even paid for the protection plan!! All I got was sorry we understand
