- [R7] Art lover: I love this app, the great detail and the ability to ask question and engage with the topic. This would be amazing if there was one for famous scientists.
- [R38] You need this app!!!: This is the first time I’ve ever been moved to write an app review. Google Arts & Culture has fully changed the way I use my phone and consume content. This app is full of incredible educational information and learning experiences, everything from fascinating interactive virtual exhibits on the da Vinci codices to articles on history, art galleries, and so much more. I recen
- [R66] Amazing App: I’m in love with this app. Many art pieces take advantage of ultra high resolution scans so that one can zoom in and observe fine details. Another feature I love is the stories feature. The stories are detailed, well written, and inspiring. To me this app is like a museum within an app.
- [R90] I Love It: The opportunity to see art from home. Also knowing it’s for real pictures of art in museums. The way it allows for easy discovery of different museums and what they offer. I love it! P.S. I’ve had this installed for awhile. I just now rediscovered it.
- [R24] Greatest app in history of apps!!!!: This app brings me endless joy and wonder! Extremely engaging visual appeal that is so intuitive and easy to use. I love getting lost in their maze of learning! The various ways to learn/search for content, are so smart and fun. Thank you Google!!
- [R116] Superb: This app is one of the dest art education apps there is. The different features that you can play around with it make the information easily accessible, and it’s interactive as well. I really enjoy the app. I would recommend and encourage others to use
- [R119] Where’s the art tho?: Zooming in to see the brush strokes while casting to a 4k projector is pretty next level. That said, I’m here to see some art: would love more comprehensive collections of artists work, more details, and more attention on the core browsing experience. Some pieces have very little information, could you at least pull from wiki? No comments on the apps other features. Less se
- [R127] Amazing: So appreciative that this app exists. What generosity that Google even created this, to have this accessibility to art without leaving your home. And they way in which they present it isn’t just “here’s some art, look at it”, you can project masterpieces with your phone on to your own wall, get into sometimes hidden detail of what makes Rembrandt a genius, take virtual tours of the Prada!
- [R1] Broken App: This app has failed to work for the last two months. Opening it shows “app error” every time. It’s not a network connection as all my apps work properly except this one.
- [R35] Not opening: Mine doesn’t even load past the starting screen. It’s says that there was some connection error but everything I search for says to power off my device (already tried) or my data settings. I haven’t got past the loading screen. And it’s definitely not my internet. Will update if it works!!
- [R37] Won’t open: It won’t ever let me open the app because it says there’s an error. There’s never a problem with my connection either. I want to use this app, but I’ve never been able to get it to open
- [R39] Doesn’t even work: App is useless and doesn’t even load in
- [R9] Terrible App: No landscape mode is honestly laughable coming from the biggest conglomerate. You’ll implement a bunch of useless tacky (ai) functions without even having a basic working system that allows for landscape mode. The search system makes it impossible to narrow down subject matter. Crashes all the time. When you’re looking through archives and go past a certain point it will crash and yo
- [R14] Landscape support for ipad: App is great but please update to support landscape support for iPad. It will only work in portrait mode.
- [R18] No landscape support: Works fine in portrait mode but desperately needs landscape mode.
- [R20] Support IpadOS LANDSCAPE MODE please: and i can not access this app with VPN meanwhile website version I could
- [R2] Good potential, but ditch the AI: This app has a lot of potential and I was really looking forward to using it as an alternative to mindless scrolling. Unfortunately Google is leaning into AI way too much, including having soulless AI-generated podcasts that “discuss” art. What an insult to humanity! I had to immediately uninstall.
- [R5] ai everywhere: the fact there is a large ai box on everything is so annoying it obstructs the view and is just so frustrating. why does ai have to be literally everywhere i turn even when im trying to learn about art. at least make an option to make it go away
- [R16] AI features are a miss: I think this app is a great resource in general for art fans. But these AI features being pushed upon the user base are a huge turn off. Why would a fan of visual art, likely an artist themselves, want to listen to an AI character podcasting about Starry Night? I think the AI audio stuff is downright useful in Notebook LM, but here? Just feels like a devaluing of human expr
- [R26] AI garbage: I downloaded this hoping for a fun way to connect with the actual art world and escape the infiltration of ai slop in every single thing on the internet. Two seconds into using this app and I’m prompted to try an AI drawing experience. Lose the ai trash. It’s not art and it doesn’t belong in the art world.
- [R4] This item no longer exists.: I don't use Arts & Culture that often; I only use this more for education. There is a glitch where you cannot remove favorite images (or images in the lists you have made) that show a greyed-out, squiggly/ripped icon. I can delete non-deleted artworks, but not the ones that show these symbols. First, I have tried to use uBlock Origin on my computer, but it won't let
- [R10] Interface needs much improvement: This app is an incredible, vast resource for you mind and soul. The main issue I have reading it on my ipad is the interface. There are no settings to change the font size, so you almost need a magnifying glass to read it.
- [R13] cant follow artists now: I used to be able to click on the artist name to jump to a gallery presentation of that artist's works. In the latest update clicking on the artist name does nothing.
- [R49] A few tweaks needed for mobile users: I use this app on my iphone and ipad. A couple things keep me from giving it five stars. One, the galleries of artists don't often include their full oeuvre but rather a few of their selected works. On the same note, some artists with relevant and incredible works don’t exist in this app. Two, why is the mobile UI so oddly conposed? I spent a few moments tryin
- [R8] PLEASE READ: So I CANT GET IN GAMES BECAUSE “failing to load content”.I restarted and tried other stuff but it still WONT WORK please fix🥺🙏🏻🙏
- [R17] What the heck?!: Bro literally the games don’t work! At school, we play on the website on our iPads and the games work perfectly. But all of a sudden I download it on my phone and the games don’t work! The learning stuff and the camera games work but not the real games like the viola game and the blob opera. Pls fix it!!!
- [R21] It’s good has bugs: Games perfect but it says that it’s being slow
- [R91] Please fix this: Im on mobile and on the XYZ TOY game I can’t do the letters a or b no matter how much I scroll to the left please fix this
- [R135] “Install the App to view galleries in Augmented Reality”: Not happy with the IPad Version of the App. In the App, there are instructions informing me to “install” the App if I want to use particular features. I have already installed it. I have an iPad Pro; why can’t I have all the features as the “phone” version. Where’s the Art Transfer feature?
- [R138] Better on iPhone than on iPad: Features that I want to use on iPad aren’t available which makes this a real ‘meh’ for me. No access to my photos for Art Transfer for example and why is that?
- [R262] Hurry up!: You need to make the “search your selfie” feature available in the UK!
- [R276] bring to the UK!!!: really wish the feature that lets you compare yourself to a painting was available where i am😭😭
- [R54] Get rid of widget borders: Always loved the app primarily used with the widget. Now you’ve added this awful wide white border to the widgets. It’s very distracting from the art photo being displayed. I’m putting my review at 1 star until you get this fixed. No need for any borders on a widget especially on a phone. Please put it back to being frameless. You made the widgets worse!
- [R183] “There was an error loading the page”: “- tap to refresh” I love the app in general however most of the items in the widget in Control Center will not open when you tap them, and if you really want to know about the item you tapped on you have to manually search for it. I deleted and reinstalled the app and it still does this.
- [R58] Please fix search engine: I love this app and use it fairly often I also love the widget so you can see new work everyday. I would ask that you please fix the search engine often when looking for watercolor works the medium is gouache and although they are similar it is not the same. I would also like to be able to search different mediums for an artist most artists don’t just work with one medium
- [R250] Good but some cons: Overall it is a great app with very high resolution of each work. However, there are too few of artworks in each artist collection, sometimes you cannot even find the famous work.
- [R27] Games unnecessary: I put this app on my child’s iPad so she could explore and learn about art. Instead, she plays the games on hat are part of the app. Why are games necessary? There are plenty of games on the App Store. I’d give the app 5 stars if the games were removed.
