Head to head
You need a bus tracking app primarily for school buses and your district supports it, as it generally provides accurate tracking and notifications when drivers comply R14R29. You value features like radius notifications to know when to head to the stop .
You are in a city where myStop Mobile is known to be reliable and provides the specific transit information you need, and you are willing to tolerate occasional bugs or use the web version as a backup .
Evidence note: Both apps are free to download, so there is no free-vs-paid asymmetry. Both apps suffer from significant reliability issues, particularly after recent updates, and their functionality is often dependent on external factors like bus driver compliance. Here Comes the Bus has a much larger user base and higher lifetime rating, indicating a stronger core product despite recent update-related frustrations.

- [R3] Here Comes the Bus Put some more time into this app: Used to love this app because it would tell me where my school bus was. Now I feel like it’s so inconsistent. If my bus is substituted, it just never shows on the map. Almost like a bus isn’t coming. But it is. And when it is coming, it’s pretty janky. Ik it just got updated but they updated to me just felt cleaner and weren’t based off of what we actually need: a
- [R6] Here Comes the Bus Was good until it wasn't: App was a life saver for so long! Until it updated and now I can't see the bus until it randomly populates close to the bus stop
- [R14] Here Comes the Bus This app is amazing: I never have to wonder when my son is getting to the bus stop or the buses it is the perfect situation for parents to monitor children to take a bus. Thanks, Here Comes the Bus.
- [R15] Here Comes the Bus Needs ETA for Better Tracking: The app works well for tracking the bus location, but it’s missing one key feature that would make it much more useful, ETA. Right now, I can see when the bus enters the radius, but I still don’t know exactly how long it will take to arrive. Adding an estimated time of arrival (ETA) when the bus enters the radius would make planning much easier and reduce uncertainty
- [R1] Here Comes the Bus Worst Bus app: You don’t upgrade your software properly. Everytime you try to do any changes in the app it get even worst. None of the notifications are shared on time.
- [R4] Here Comes the Bus Location stuck: Since the last update the location tracking has gotten worse, not better.
- [R5] Here Comes the Bus It’s fine: I don’t like the new update. I know it’s silly but I miss the little bus on the map instead of this boring arrow.
- [R7] Here Comes the Bus Bus app works okay when transportation updates it: The app only works when transportation updates the app. Instead it can be very draining and not useful because you will have to call them and let them know the app isn't being updated. The drivers can be very rude and not update the app as well. Communication is key when other people people children are on the line.
- [R8] Here Comes the Bus Suggestion: Don’t get me wrong, I love this app. It’s accurate and does not lag most of the time. But I have a suggestion. What if the bus could move? Like, I get that it teleports, but I’m talking about move in real time. So if you open the app and then open it again dm they are in your neighborhood, you can see the exact spot instead of it updating and going out too early or too late. You could
- [R29] Here Comes the Bus Does the job and very accurate!: I can honestly say that I have received a notification twice daily for my son’s first year riding the school bus. I’m always updated when there’s a new driver and I’m overall impressed with the GPS accuracy! Thank you!
- [R95] myStop Mobile MyStopMobile >>>>>>: Great app. When it worked in my city Grand Rapids, Michigan for The Rapid Bus System, it showed live locations of each bus. It was amazing. The real time tracking was accurate and amazing. I felt more than prepared for the bus system no matter the time. A few years back, there was an update, and the real time tracking feature seemed to be disabled for all buses in the city.
- [R115] myStop Mobile inaccurate: consistently has inaccurate bus times and has busses disappearing from the map
- [R10] Here Comes the Bus Getting worse: It was already pretty bad, it’s getting worse very update.
- [R25] Here Comes the Bus New update TERRIBLE!!!: This app use to be a really good app. It would be spot on about where the bus was located and notifying when it was near. Since the update it has extremely downgraded and is no longer dependable. It lags at least 15-20 mins sometimes before it will update the bus’s location. Please fix the bugs or Downgrade back to the old system.
- [R45] Here Comes the Bus Update completely wrecked the app: This update is the worst. Can’t see the busses anymore, so the app basically completely useless. Is anyone testing this garbage before releasing it?
- [R38] Here Comes the Bus Best app: It lets me track my bus and it also sends notifications like bus arrived
- [R55] Here Comes the Bus Timing & notifications: My child’s bus runs early, the app tells us same previous scheduled time instead of actual time, the bus enters zone, 75% of the time we are not notified the bus is near. His bus has not been running at a normal scheduled time lately and my child has missed the bus many times over the past few months.
