- [R1] HERE WeGo Maps & Navigation 1 good feature: The only thing I like about this is that I can set my max speed to get accurate arrival times. The adding stop feature doesn’t add the stop in order of distance it tags it into the end of the trip and says to backtrack the whole way back after arriving at final destination.
- [R3] HERE WeGo Maps & Navigation Good-ish app but better competitors (Google Maps, etc.): Hi. I wish this app had a report a faster route feature because I am finding in my area that Google Maps provides me with faster routes. I googled does here we go let you report faster routes and here is the answer Google Ai gave me: HERE WeGo does not feature a manual, user submitted "report a faster route" button to instantly alter algorit
- [R9] HERE WeGo Maps & Navigation Not bad: I’ve been using this app for about a month. Very appreciative of the fact that it collects less personal data than some of the other GPS apps. It does an okay job at choosing routes. Offline mode is a nice feature. I just wish that when using this through CarPlay there was the option to ask for directions via voice command.
- [R61] Avenza Maps Useless: As a long-term casual user, I am very disappointed with the pricing plan change. I have happily used the app for many years for cross country backpacking. I like to know where I am. Now, as a “free” user, the only map I can access is the OSM. This map is absolutely useless. I cannot see the details of this map. As suck I am unable to navigate with it.
- [R6] HERE WeGo Maps & Navigation Needs better searching near landmarks: One thing that I find difficult about this app is that it’s hard to find restaurants or coffee, shops, etc., near landmarks. That’s my most common use case for map apps. Either this app is really not built to do that or the UX is too confusing to easily put in a landmark and then have it show restaurants or other things near it.
- [R10] HERE WeGo Maps & Navigation Confusing: I’m not a big fan of this app, the directions are ok.
- [R39] HERE WeGo Maps & Navigation Great interface and app, needs better search and CarPlay support: I've been using Here We Go for a while and I'm impressed! It includes a user-friendly interface that’s simple but robust, distinguishing itself from other cluttered apps. While the overall search experience is good, a couple of enhancements would be beneficial. Firstly, predictive search needs improvement, often requiring the full n
- [R70] Avenza Maps Functional sort of: Terrible user interface. If you’re really patient and don’t mind unnecessarily complicated steps to make field notes and edits you may find this app to be ok. It does the job but does so in a very inefficient manner. This is magnified while in the field and dealing with less than ideal environmental conditions.
- [R22] HERE WeGo Maps & Navigation Bad navigation and bad sensitivity: I used this app for over a month to give it a good chance and I cannot in good faith recommend this app. It consistently thinks you are getting off exits when you are not, even when in the far left lane from the exit. Not only does the sensitivity consistently cause the app to reroute you, the routes chosen are poorly done. The traffic is over 90% of the time in
- [R36] HERE WeGo Maps & Navigation Works half the time: I really want to like this navigation app, but half the time I launch it. It just shows a blank screen, and I have to force quit in order to get it working.
- [R46] HERE WeGo Maps & Navigation What happened?: Not sure what’s going on but the app crashes constantly now. It’s unusable. I hate Google and never want to use another one of their apps, but Here We Go is no longer a suitable replacement. I have used this app for about a year and loved it until about 2 weeks ago.
- [R73] Avenza Maps Paywall & Data Freeze: Very disappointed with recent changes no longer allowing custom maps without a paid subscription & preventing publishers from updating their maps in the Avenza store. This was my favourite mapping app for the back country & it is now unusable.
- [R79] Avenza Maps No longer free! $$$$: This app started out ok, but kinda clunky for viewing geoPDFs, but pushed by USGS ISFS, BLM, state fish and game depts. and other public sources for geoPDF maps products. Start hitting limits years ago on how many imported pdf maps you could add. More headaches than it was worth to use it much. Now zero map imports allowed without a heavy subscription fee. Moving on to No
- [R95] Avenza Maps Expensive yearly price tag: I've had this app for about 9 years now and it had a free use section. It's a very good mapping tool but when I updated it, it said the maps I was using were no longer supported in the free mode. In order to use the maps I now have to buy into the subscription which is $34 a year. That's too expensive for me and how often I use the mapping. As a paramedic running calls
- [R109] Avenza Maps New fees are ridiculous: It is disappointing how this app has been free for years for the basics announced behind them very expensive paywall I will use other free apps
- [R107] Avenza Maps Pay to play….: Free version used to limit users to 3 imported custom maps at a time. Recently they fully removed this feature. I used to pay for subscription when I needed it, but never will again. Poor choices!!
