Head to head
You are required to use TownSq Community by your HOA and need a direct channel for community communication and payments, acknowledging that you might encounter significant technical issues and a clunky user experience R3R36.
You enjoy match-3 puzzle games with a strong storyline and decoration elements, and you are either willing to tolerate high difficulty levels or make in-app purchases to progress .
Evidence note: The reviews for Modern Community are overwhelmingly about it being a game, specifically a match-3 puzzle game, despite its name suggesting a community management app. This creates an asymmetry in comparison, as TownSq Community is indeed an HOA/community management platform. The comparison focuses on the user experience within their respective intended purposes.

- [R1] TownSq Community Set Up Issues: I have the app downloaded, selected sign up, received and confirmed email. Confirm my info and enter and confirm password, then it just spins, nothing happens. Can't even get into app.
- [R4] TownSq Community Unable to save privacy settings: My address continues to display even when I don’t have the option checked. I try to make other changes to privacy settings and there’s no option to actually save the changes, so they’re discarded.
- [R9] TownSq Community Messaging doesn’t work: Have tried multiple times to get messages to work and it doesn’t. It works for other residents but not for us
- [R10] TownSq Community Autopay not working: Auto pay option on IOS App is not working even with the latest update.
- [R2] TownSq Community Question: Why can’t this app become full screen on iPad
- [R3] TownSq Community Needs work: I’m glad my HOAs master and condos offer an app to have easy payments and request, but viewing news and event notifications across 2 communities is clunky for sure. The switch community is also not great, hidden deep in the app.
- [R6] TownSq Community It be nice if this app was formatted for ipad!: Att: IT Dept. or App Developer, Can the Town Square App please be formatted to be IPad friendly to fit the iPad screen ? So it doesn’t look like a cell phone screen ? Sam
- [R8] TownSq Community Disappearing Documents: Suddenly documents are disappearing from folders. Update from 1 week ago may be faulty. Here we go again, now cannot switch between communities when homeowners participate in multiple. Always sketchy, poor support. It’s not a community enhancement, rather a headache for community managers and homeowners. Too bad. The concept is good.
- [R19] TownSq Community Horrible app: What A poorly designed app for its intended purpose of managing a condo association. Unorganized, disjointed and a jumbled mess that is so not user friendly. BAD
- [R22] TownSq Community People must be out of their minds giving this app good ratings… I wonder if it’s all scam…: Super user-unfriendly, poorly organized, cluttered and cumbersome to use. I absolutely hate using it.
- [R36] TownSq Community The app you have to use- not by choice: I have to use this app to pay my condo fee. It’s not super easy to use and the light green type makes it hard to read. My BIGGEST GRIPE is that it does not support account nicknames on payment sources. That would make things easier instead of just a list of partial numbers.
- [R5] TownSq Community Town Square Updates!: Geraldo is always very clear and polite when assistance is needed to navigate the platform. Great Job!
- [R25] TownSq Community Not helpful: The usefulness of this app is dependent upon the timely response from the property management company. Unfortunately mine isn’t so responsive.
- [R27] TownSq Community Font too small: Font is too small and is in light colour. Making it very difficult to read the content without glasses. And app does not have feature to contact support or provide feedback. Hence writing a review. Hope someone will look into it.
- [R63] Modern Community Not what you think: Honestly, the game on the ad showed a girl cleaning up and trying to look good, which was super interesting to me cause cleaning or sim games are fun to me but it’s completely different it’s like landscapes or something puzzles and stars which isn’t really that fun to me cause you get stuck on it and get frustrated leading to deleting the game. My overall opinion may be differe
- [R79] Modern Community Glorified Candy Crush: Don’t let the ads fool you. It is just candy crush plus a bunch of reading.
- [R88] Modern Community False advertising: Don’t let the add fool you it’s nothing but matching cubes each time you complete it you get one star to click and pick what you want the furniture to look like
- [R118] Modern Community The ads lie - False advertising: Seriously don’t waste your time with this. The ads made this look almost like a Sims type game but maybe with a storyline and choices. The ad made it look interesting and exciting. But in actuality it’s just a stupid match 3 game and fixing things up with limited choices. Like Gardenscapes & others. I don’t understand why false advertising seems legal now. But anyt
- [R61] Modern Community Ai Slop + Racist Ads: The game itself is just fine tbh, I like the concept and how involved you get to be in the townspeople’s lives, everyone has their own story. What I DONT like are these stupid, unrelated AI SLOP ads everywhere! The ads have nothing to do with the gameplay or the sweet stories in the game. They also constantly depict a Black fireman as an abusive or deadbeat dad when I’m the g
- [R64] Modern Community not as advertised: i frequently see ads for this game that are queer code but there is no content, no way to same sex romance, no ability to change the gender of the female main character. played it a while but it’s really in-your-face hetero … and i’m tired of having no that shoved in my face after seeing queer-baiting ads.
- [R65] Modern Community Great: Good game but false advertisement
- [R21] TownSq Community iPad version: I like the town Square community app, but I deducted two stars for the time being since there is no iPad version. An iPad version of this app would maximize screen size as it is hard to read my HOA newsletters using the iPhone version of the app on an iPad. I will gladly give the app a higher score if an iPad version comes out.
- [R13] TownSq Community Payments: I’m trying to make a payment and when I do it takes me back to the Home Screen. Fix this glitch please.
- [R17] TownSq Community Having issue paying my hoa: When I click on make payment the it just loads and loads. Is there an issue at the moment ? Please help. Thanks
- [R41] TownSq Community Has some bugs: App is good for viewing your account info but a bit wonky when trying to enter information. Lately when I try to pay my HOA dues, the app won’t bring up my keyboard so that I can enter my account number. I have to go my computer and use the HOA website.
