Workout for Women vs FitOn Workouts & Fitness Plans
FitOn Workouts & Fitness Plans offers a more reliable free experience and better overall value, despite some recent technical issues, making it the preferred choice over Workout for Women, which is plagued by aggressive paywalls and subscription management problems.
FitOn Workouts & Fitness Plans generally provides a good variety of free workouts and positive trainer experiences, though recent updates have introduced casting issues and mandatory workout ratings. Workout for Women, while offering effective workouts, faces significant criticism for its aggressive paywall tactics, misleading free trials, and poor subscription management.
Head to head
you are a beginner looking for short, structured workouts and are willing to pay for a subscription or tolerate aggressive ads and potential billing issues R8R20.
you want a wide variety of free workouts and trainers, appreciate positive motivation, and are comfortable with a free tier that has some limitations (like casting) or are willing to pay for an affordable Pro subscription R68.
Evidence note: Workout for Women's lifetime rating is high, but recent reviews are heavily skewed negative due to aggressive monetization changes. FitOn's recent reviews also show some negativity, primarily around technical issues and changes to free features.

- [R2] Workout for Women Very good app: I am really enjoying this app… lots of different options.
- [R5] Workout for Women Love this app!: Finally found an app that fits my workout needs!
- [R20] Workout for Women The Best Workout App in the World: Update, June 24, 2026 - I’ve been using this app for a while and I like it even more than when I started. One of the rare and fantastic things about the workouts is that they are genuinely well thought out, really nicely put together. It seems a person sat down and thought this through and put the exercises in the right order and the most beneficial exercises.
- [R24] Workout for Women used to be better: i’ve had this app for a while, and i still really like it. i’ll admit i pay for the features so i don’t get ads, however, it is slowly turning into ai slop. many of the newer daily workouts are the same things over and over. the daily habit stretch is just a workout, not stretches. a lot of the better stuff is all older material.
- [R8] Workout for Women Great for beginners: I’ve been off and on with the Sweat app but it’s a lot of dedication from the start. Workout for Women from home and gym it’s great for beginners and it’s not killer or time consuming. I can fit 20 min or less anytime in between my schedule. Works out aren’t out of this world and one can sustain it for beginners. Def recommend!
- [R10] Workout for Women Free Version So Frustrating: I do not care if I have to watch ads but what I do care about is if I get a pop up screen with no continuation option only advertising the paid version. The workout is available with ads yet the interface traps you with their predatory ads.
- [R11] Workout for Women Good, but...: I LOVE this app. Great workouts for all ages. But... I am on the free version and there are a lot of things that I can't do without paying. Still has good options for the free version but please allow the free version to make me able to do more things.
- [R12] Workout for Women AMack91: Great app for working at your own pace. It really helped me tone and lose weight. Plenty workout outs and exercises too. I took away two stars because I used this app a lot when most of the exercise routines were free. Now everything I click on they want you to subscribe and that sucks
- [R3] Workout for Women Great app, downloads impossible: This app and the workouts are great. Even with a paid subscription, you cannot download. No help or steps from online searches help.
- [R4] Workout for Women Scam and expensive: Cancelled my subscription and then received not one but two charges in the same day totaling almost $100!!! Don’t do it! Not worth it.
- [R6] Workout for Women Cannot access paid subscription: I was logged out of the app recently and cannot log back in to access my workouts and benefits of my paid subscription
- [R7] Workout for Women Subscription: Cancelled subscription and still got charged for it. No spot in app to manage no place on website either. Went to contact support and every time I hit submit it would say the request couldn’t be submitted because it’s spam. Don’t get app it not free it will make you sign up for a subscription and not let you cancel it.
- [R1] Workout for Women Nothing but paywalls: Is there anything that is free on this app anymore?? Even workouts I had previously saved now ask you to pay. Ridiculous
- [R9] Workout for Women Subscriptions: The is a good workout app but the only thing that i don’t like is that it said it was giving me a free subscription because it was my first time using this app, i get the subscription and its charged me 30 dollars idk if i did something wrong but warning, just stick to the free version and don’t be scammed like me 😭
- [R13] Workout for Women Free trial SCAM: I downloaded this app yesterday and I wanted to try the 1-week free trial, but once I used the Apple Pay feature to subscribe to the free trial I was charged $29.99!? Dealing with my bank now to get my money back but it literally said I would not get charged until a week after.
- [R15] Workout for Women I shouldn’t have to pay!!!😤😡: I shouldn’t have to pay for this app because I’m not wasting money for an app that i am going to end up deleting when I reach my goal and it’s a waste of of money.
- [R28] Workout for Women Horrible: Horrible wouldn’t let me cancel my subscription
- [R42] Workout for Women Help - contact us emails not working: Can you access your paid subscription on your other devices. I normally used my iPhone but now I want to use my android tablet. Theres no login option on my tablet. It’s just asking me to resub. I’ve emailed for the last couple of days and noone is responding. Why is that? Can anyone help me?
- [R75] FitOn Workouts & Fitness Plans Good until you want to cancel your subscription: Loved the app until I wanted to cancel my subscription. It just took a while to get it sorted
- [R16] Workout for Women Stupid: It let me start my training on the "free app" but the second day it was making me have to pay to continue so I don't recommend getting it unless u have the money to waste on it if u do it's pretty great
- [R70] FitOn Workouts & Fitness Plans Screen mirroring: Love this app but hate that it literally blocks you from screen mirroring to your tv :( I can’t afford internet right now let alone a premium subscription so it just sucks that I have to do it off of my tiny phone screen
- [R73] FitOn Workouts & Fitness Plans Lost Chromecast Functionality: Loved this app but it no longer works with Chromecast on iPhone (they switched casting function from AirPlay to Screen Mirroring). Watching on a tiny iPhone is NOT worth paying for…. Contacted support who insisted it was my devices or network, despite Chromecast working perfectly fine with literally every other app I own besides this one (make that make sense?). D
- [R78] FitOn Workouts & Fitness Plans AirPlay limited to paid tier: I enjoy the fitness routines. However, they have just removed AirPlay. It is now behind a paywall.
- [R85] FitOn Workouts & Fitness Plans Use to be Good: Now it’s trash, pay for everything. I was using the app way before they started charging. Now charge to your own music, charge to mirror. I have never paid to use this features until I came to use it. I will no longer tell people to download this app or use this app.
- [R68] FitOn Workouts & Fitness Plans Love the positivity!!❤️❤️❤️: Since I have come to FitOn, I have noticed how positive the community of trainers are! I specifically love to listen and train with Jeanette Jenkins! She’s super sweet and fun to listen to! The one complaint I have is that none of the food plans are free. At least have a couple food options free. Other than that it’s great! Keep it up!!!
- [R80] FitOn Workouts & Fitness Plans Actually good fitness app developers seem: The free features are great themselves; free meal plans and phone workout videos. But they also offer 6 months free pro to students which is really great for encouraging healthy habits at this stage of life. I was really excited I could get the workout videos on my tv. The app developers seem like they really care about actually making a good app instead
- [R107] FitOn Workouts & Fitness Plans Love this app: I love this app. Idk it has everything I need!! The weight tracking, goals, pictures, recipes, so many trainers to choose from (Kenta <3), so many work outs and levels of intensity I could go on and on. It just works for me. I can listen to my music and the trainers at the same time!!!! Chefs kiss. If anyone finds anything better lmk.
