Tinybeans Private Family Album vs Qeepsake
Tinybeans is better for general family photo sharing with more robust features, while Qeepsake excels as a guided journaling tool for creating baby books, despite both facing recent criticism for pricing and glitches.
Tinybeans Private Family Album is a long-standing photo and video sharing app for families, praised for its ease of use and private sharing, but recently criticized for price increases and glitches. Qeepsake focuses on guided journaling via text prompts to create baby books, with users appreciating its convenience but lamenting poor print quality and restrictive pricing.
Head to head
You want a private platform primarily for sharing photos and videos with a close circle of family and friends, value memory flashbacks, and are willing to pay for a premium subscription despite recent price increases and glitches .
You are a busy parent looking for a convenient way to journal memories through text prompts and want to easily create physical baby books, even if it means dealing with repetitive questions and potentially high costs for books .
Evidence note: Both apps have a significant number of recent negative reviews, particularly concerning price increases and changes to free tiers, which may skew recent sentiment compared to their high lifetime ratings. Many users expressed feeling their memories were held hostage by both apps after using a free tier.

- [R1] Tinybeans Private Family Album Expensive and glitchy, horrible app, greedy!!!!: They want $75 a year when it used to be free. I HATE them with a passion. Everything that used to be great SUCKS now and this is one of those things. I would never pay for this because the app doesn’t work half the time anyway. It crashes when you’re loading a bunch of photos at once and it’s a huge waste of time.
- [R4] Tinybeans Private Family Album iPad App is Unusable with Keyboards: Hello! Just checking in to see when landscape mode may be available on the TB iPad app. I would really like to use my iPad Pro keyboard. Thanks! Still waiting on landscape mode on iPad, and it would be nice to be able to scroll faster when adding photos many months in the past.
- [R5] Tinybeans Private Family Album 6 years & 3 Babies Later: I truly love this app. We’re a military family and have moved every 2 years, including an overseas move. Staying connected to family is the most important thing for me and this app helps that tremendously! I also love having the memories pop up. The only thing is that for close to a year it has been glitching and no longer lets me select which child is in the photos I sel
- [R6] Tinybeans Private Family Album Going downhill: Used to love this app. Expected the experience to at least stay the same and not degrade when the price increased to almost double. Since then we have had weekly issues with the app. Most recently, more than once a week, we are unable to upload photos because they all show as back in the preview.
- [R9] Tinybeans Private Family Album Glitchy: Great app we have been using for almost 8 years but lately it has been so glitchy. I reached out to customer service for trouble shooting and they told me to re-download the app. I have done so a couple times and it is still not helping the glitches! I miss the old app.
- [R3] Tinybeans Private Family Album Premium without upgrade: I’ve paid for premium. Never got benefits. FAQ include this problem which put me off. Why would that be a FAQ? I followed instructions to fix. Not fixed. I don’t like when my lack of time costs me money. I have to find the time now to contact. I feel that I should be refunded for poor app function or whatever it is. I believe my daughter has had the features but I h
- [R10] Tinybeans Private Family Album No longer free: No notice to my email or on the app it would no longer be free. Log in today and have to pay. So disappointed. Edit: My MIL paid for a year and repaid when it was up a few months ago and there must have been an upgrade and bumped me down to the free plan out of nowhere when we paid for the year plan. Can I rate below 1 star? Update -1000 stars as I went to find a specific memory
- [R18] Tinybeans Private Family Album Pricey: I started on here posting our family’s first grandchild and it was great until the price got jacked up to an incredibly high one. I think of it as an investment for my 95 yr old grandmother happy but no other reason to use this specific expensive product anymore.
- [R2] Tinybeans Private Family Album Updated Review: Update as of 2026 They have made some major updates and things are so much better. I am so glad I stuck it out, because this really is the best app. Now that I don’t have uploading issues, I have no complaints. Since they worked on the changes, they even reached out to me checking in because I had sent so many emails about the struggles to support. I appreciated that. It’s much eas
- [R12] Tinybeans Private Family Album Slow app support response: Since the birth of my first grandchild, my daughter has been posting pictures of my now grandchildren daily. It has been great to be able to share the children’s growth with family and friends across the globe. Their great grandmother used to look at Tinybeans every night before she went to sleep. Last week, without any notification, my daughter was not able to upload pi
- [R19] Tinybeans Private Family Album THIS IS A SCAM: We've been using Tiny Beans for a few years. It is a service that allows us to upload photos of our kids, and it then organizes them by date. It also allows us to share photos with our extended family like a private social media page. We have honestly loved it though it is really just a private facebook page at best. We've had a premium membership for a year or two which was $40 pe
- [R40] Tinybeans Private Family Album Surprise Terms Change: It is evil capitalist garbage to suddenly require payment to access my own family photos. My family has been leaving photos and comments for years. Now they’re hidden until I pay. Absolutely sinister corporate nonsense. BEWARE!!
- [R72] Qeepsake Great Memory book: We like this app for keeping all our memories in one spot and being able to quickly make a book. Photo quality on pictures in the journal book are not great sadly.
- [R75] Qeepsake Poor picture quality: My book came out nicely with the layout formatting however I’m so disappointed in the picture quality. I’m using my iPhone and my pics print normally in other platforms/apps. I’ve always used another company to make my own photo books and never had an issue. I’m just so surprised at the lack of picture quality. Otherwise the questions are fun and it’s easy to make updates in
- [R105] Qeepsake Great app! Questionable book quality: So thankful something like this exists. It makes it so easy to answer questions by sending you the texts, and add photos and other entries just by just opening up the app. And I like how you can add a photo collage with four photos, because I usually have trouble picking just one! It is definitely worth upgrading to the paid version to be able to do this. I al
- [R118] Qeepsake Good concept, printed books are poor quality: I like the concept and the reminders to write my memories. I just got through my year and printed my book. I printed the soft cover to be within my credit amount (I had about 100 pages and it cost about $65 for a soft cover). The pictures look like they were printed from someone's home printer and look faded. I don't think it will stand the test of tim
- [R16] Tinybeans Private Family Album No support: I paid for a subscription but the app is limiting my posts. I’ve reached out to their “support” twice and received no help.
- [R30] Tinybeans Private Family Album Love the app, but terrible communication: We’ve been using this app for years, and we love it. We even paid for the subscription. However, I’ve tried reaching out to the developers many times for various questions, including issues with the website when trying to take advantage of a Black Friday deal. No response ever. I was willing to continue paying for the subscription but changed my mind out o
