eFax® Plus-Pro-Protect vs McAfee Security for T-Mobile
McAfee Security for T-Mobile is the better choice for T-Mobile customers seeking device protection, offering reliable security features despite some login and notification issues, while eFax® Plus-Pro-Protect struggles with core functionality and has significant billing and cancellation complaints.
McAfee Security for T-Mobile provides essential device protection and identity monitoring for T-Mobile users, generally performing well despite recurring login and update notification glitches. eFax® Plus-Pro-Protect, an online fax service, faces severe criticism for its app's inability to send or receive faxes, frequent crashes, and a problematic billing and cancellation process.
Head to head
You frequently need to send and receive faxes for business or medical settings and are willing to navigate potential app glitches and closely monitor billing, especially if you've had a positive experience with their desktop service .
You are a T-Mobile customer looking for a free, integrated security solution for your mobile device, prioritizing general protection against threats and data breaches, and are willing to tolerate occasional login issues and frequent update notifications R100.
Evidence note: Both apps have a significant number of negative reviews related to core functionality, billing, and customer support, despite high lifetime ratings. For eFax, the negative reviews often highlight critical failures in sending/receiving faxes and deceptive billing practices. For McAfee, the negatives frequently concern login loops and persistent, unresolvable update notifications. The free-to-download nature of both apps means a wider user base, potentially leading to more complaints from users who might not fully understand the service or its limitations.

- [R1] eFax® Plus-Pro-Protect Can’t login: Can’t login with the same username and password as on website
- [R6] eFax® Plus-Pro-Protect Not Great So Far: I downloaded the app, logged in and sent 4 pages just to text it out. It said it would notify me once pages were sent, but in the interim… there was NO indication that the pages were transmitting. It took 20mins before I saw the fax in my Sent folder and I have yet to receive the “notification”. This is concerning as the primary reason I downloaded the app was to RECEIVE faxes, n
- [R13] eFax® Plus-Pro-Protect SCAM: Customer service can not assist with personal or business accounts. Plus cancellation is unavailable under billing as they instructed. It’s a scam to charge your card

- [R19] eFax® Plus-Pro-Protect Waste of money: I would give zero stars if app would allow it. I needed to send a one page fax and after multiple attempts, it would not send and never gave a reason why it would not send. Ridiculous! Wasted money!
- [R2] eFax® Plus-Pro-Protect I DK: Sent a fax, and had some issues. Reached out to customer support, they confirmed delivery and ensured my issues were taken care of. I had frustrations initially, never having used an e-fax service before but eFax is definitely my choice moving forward!
- [R36] eFax® Plus-Pro-Protect Scam: Be careful and be prepared for the fact that you will not be able to unsubscribe. I have tried all the methods and so far it has not worked. The instructions for unsubscribe do not work, I wrote to the email - «unavailable» , I wrote to the support - «our team is currently not working». I will try to dispute the transaction with the bank...
- [R11] eFax® Plus-Pro-Protect Lightning fast: From signing up . Sending fax documents done in less than 3 minutes. Amazing with sending documents confirmation

- [R30] eFax® Plus-Pro-Protect Shady billing!: Do not sign up for this junk! They have a shady billing system in which they even try to make you sign up for another e-fax type service instead of taking you to a cancellation page that you attempt to click on but won’t be successful. Once “canceled” don’t think you are out of the woods yet, nope because you WILL BE BILLED until the “billing cycle ends.” Good luck! Hope that helps

- [R100] McAfee Security for T-Mobile McAfee Security for T-Mobile: This is excellent, if you have T-Mobile, I advise everyone to download it
- [R105] McAfee Security for T-Mobile More annoying than useful: If you like useless daily notifications and pop ups trying to sell you upgraded services or tell you to install on more devices then this is the app for you. Literally 4 notifications per day - none of which are related to the security of my device. Maybe it does something, but the aggravation is simply not worth it even when ‘free’
