Progressive vs Experian®
Choose Progressive if you prioritize a straightforward app for managing insurance policies and making payments, while Experian® is better for detailed credit monitoring and building, despite its customer service and app glitches.
Progressive excels in ease of use for insurance management and payments, but faces criticism for rising costs and limited in-app functionality for complex tasks. Experian® is highly rated for credit monitoring and building, yet struggles with customer support, app glitches, and aggressive marketing.

- [R3] Progressive Ok: They need to work on the UI
- [R5] Progressive Great: Easy to use and easy to operate
- [R6] Progressive Upgrades: In order to get the upgrades I would need to buy a new phone. I’m not doing that. The app requires 17 iOS and mine is 16.
- [R8] Progressive Easy to use: I find the progressive app very thorough and easy to use.
- [R1] Progressive Spike: Going up and up used to be $110 now it’s 160 not good
- [R12] Progressive Insurance: I was recently approached about how much I pay for car insurance. When I explained how much I was paying for insurance; I was told I am paying too much. I have been with Progressive Insurance for many years. Am I paying too much, just because I have never thought to shop around? I would hope that Progressive is giving me the best deal for car insurance.
- [R13] Progressive Progressive trash: They added my brother without my permission and billed me for it
- [R16] Progressive Review: This company is a joke seriously a rip off company!
- [R4] Progressive Do not!: Garbage service, full of lies and incompetence.
- [R7] Progressive Disappointed… once again.: Just had a cracked windshield repair claim. Took TWO WEEKS and lots of followup to even get acknowledgement the claim was received!!. Progressive had Safelite replace the windshield at our home. But it wouldn’t calibrate. I then went 1.5 weeks driving with a warning light ON until a shop appt to calibrate it correctly. Finally…. The 3 hr outing away from
- [R17] Progressive Love!: Fantastic service!! Prompt and professional and thorough!
- [R19] Progressive Bad company: They dropped our coverage for no reason whatsoever I run an OTR freight company. My driver lives in Texas in which we stated at the day we purchased the policy problem after the fact I’ve paid several months and then all of a sudden they just dropped us cold turkey. Definitely not a good company to trust. Beware
- [R10] Progressive no auto payments: it doesnt let me do auto payments
- [R18] Progressive Payment: I’m enrolled in auto payments and my payment was past due ???? I have it on auto so I don’t have to worry about it..
- [R20] Progressive Best App ever!: What I love about this app is the fact that It literally takes 2 seconds to make the payment! Very convenient! it doesn’t send you a bunch of verification codes, require passwords, or hold up the payment.
- [R37] Progressive Making a payment: Making a payment was so easy. No user name or password needed. Please keep it easy! I was done in less than 3 minutes.
- [R9] Progressive Convenient but missing: Love it for my car insurance but I wish it was as easy to do my renter policy through this as well!
- [R15] Progressive Partial App Features: Wish I could see and pay ALL of my insurances in the app. My electronics insurance info doesn’t show at all and my pet insurance only shows to be viewed online.
- [R62] Experian® Accurate and thorough: This app is really great and the security is tops it knows when something goes wrong and flags you to it asap I think it’s really safe and trustworthy
- [R71] Experian® Credit: They are pretty good but sometimes make huge mistakes
- [R75] Experian® Experian Review: Experian is a good product very accurate and assists me to keep up with all my Obligations credit wise . The customer care service is awful outsourced to another country where they don’t understand what you are trying to ask condescending and not helpful. Also Experian doesn’t make it easy to locate a phone number .. Dissatisfied with voice mail and customer support
- [R78] Experian® Slow to update: Experian seems to be very quick to update with negative but slow on the positive updates. I can spend a $1000 and Experian sees it immediately but if I pay off $1000 they don’t see that for a month if at all.
- [R64] Experian® Terrible Service, No Humans, any error on their end never gets fixed.: They use an AI agent and have no way of contacting an actual human being. If the issue is on their end it will never be fixed. This has made the app completely useless.
- [R67] Experian® Horrible experience: Customer support is virtually non-existent
- [R87] Experian® All glitches, zero support: The app doesn’t even allow me to sign in. And good luck trying to get an actual person in customer service to help. All they have is AI helpers that will hang up on you if they can’t help.
