SiriusXM vs Costco
SiriusXM is the better choice for those seeking diverse audio content and a generally reliable streaming experience, while Costco's app struggles with fundamental usability despite the store's popularity.
SiriusXM offers a vast array of music, talk, and sports content, with users praising its variety and mobile accessibility, though some encounter app stability issues and content repetition. The Costco app, despite its highly-rated physical stores, is plagued by frequent login problems, slow performance, and a poor user interface, making online shopping and membership management frustrating for many users.
Head to head
You are looking for a wide variety of audio content, including music, talk shows, and live sports, and are willing to pay for a subscription that offers a largely commercial-free experience R2R22. You prioritize a dedicated streaming service over a general shopping app, even with occasional app glitches R10R11.
You are primarily interested in managing your Costco membership and accessing store-related information, despite the app's significant usability issues R58. You value Costco's in-store experience and product prices above a smooth digital experience .
Evidence note: The reviews for Costco heavily focus on the physical store experience, making it challenging to compare app-specific features directly against SiriusXM, which is solely an app-based service. The high lifetime rating for Costco seems to reflect the store's popularity rather than the app's performance, as recent app reviews are overwhelmingly negative.

- [R2] SiriusXM 4.5/5: I love the App and the Exceptional Variety of music, shows, and extra channels you have to choose from. The only knock I have about the platform is having a skip limit. If I’m paying for the service, I want to be able to skip however much I want, or if you’re listening to an Artist Station, after 2 skips, play something from that particular artist.
- [R3] SiriusXM Replay: Most hip hop channels play the same playlist over and over.
- [R12] SiriusXM Great app: One star short of five is just due to too much looping of music sets, particularly in the Rock channels
- [R16] SiriusXM Errr Day Music: Sirius Radio is my go to for Errr kind of music I like to ride too..
- [R1] SiriusXM Recent Update 6/17/26: I have tried all of these none of it worked. Also now I can search something and hit clear recent searches and that specific search clears but still leaves the other 6 searches from before???? WTH???? Also the app just randomly logged me out for no reason. I wonder if this is happening to others ? The app doesn’t delete recent searches. After you delete them they show up n
- [R9] SiriusXM Delayed audio: Trying to listen in to the World Cup, audio is delayed by a full 30 seconds from the action.
- [R10] SiriusXM Listing on playback can be somewhat frustrating.: When I use the app via my phone, and I want to start a show from the beginning versus live every little interruption in the signal, a phone call, navigation, anything at all set be right back to life, and I have to struggle to find the spot where I was again. It happens multiple times within short periods. Also, when I download things, and I want
- [R11] SiriusXM App is crashing: App is crashing
- [R4] SiriusXM 4th update no bottom bar.: Update: 4th attempt to tell Sirus that the bottom bar randomly disappears. I get the same condescending answer as you’ll see the App developers response below. Rather than telling me to restart my phone, how about fixing the issue? I’m writing another review because my other one is not present. SiriusXM has continue to not fix an issue with the bottom bar disappeared. Y
- [R6] SiriusXM Works, But Missing Controls: I love being able to stream my channels on my phone. I like that I can pause and resume. But why is there no fast-forward or reverse? Often I pause the stream to take a call, I can only resume and then go live. So if I’m in a call for 15 minutes, I can’t fast-forward during the commercials to catch up.
- [R7] SiriusXM APPLE WATCH: Can you release an Apple Watch app?
- [R5] SiriusXM Life time subscription: My wife bought me this Sirius for life subscription for my 50th. Birthday present what an exelaint present. I use it every day. Thank you Sirius..
- [R15] SiriusXM Love but very Expensive: I love being able to listen to Jeff Lewis but it is very expensive!
- [R18] SiriusXM Can’t live without it: My wife gave me Sirius for Fathers Day 20 years ago and I can’t live without it. I travel the state of California for work and I never miss a news flash a walk off and on Sunday while watching my kids play soccer I’m listening to my favorite football team. If you have discretionary income of 30 spend it wisely and invest in Sirius you won’t be disappointed
- [R22] SiriusXM Well Worth It: You have your choice of streaming services, but I choose SiriusXM because it allows me to have live listening for MLB baseball included with my package. With all of the options in the car and online, and the ability to stream while traveling and using CarPlay. I find it a huge asset. Also, little known fact, they are quite good at offering discounts for you to continue your membersh
- [R29] SiriusXM CAUTION FOR THIS “APP” 📍: I used this app for years then suddenly it tells me I have a “streaming only account “ randomly and kicks me out completely AFTER I ALREADY PAID FOR THE MONTH. I tried calling support and I was told to ask Apple. Tried the website, says it’s a “streaming only account “, I WAS CHARGED AND LOCKED OUT , I can’t even delete my account or log in , nothing. DONT DOWNLOAD THIS “
- [R55] Costco Customer Service: Customer service was very helpful and patient with me and solved my ordering issue.
- [R58] Costco LOVE this store!: I can feel the positive energy right when I walk in the building. The place is so clean. People are so friendly. I’ve talked to many employees about why they all seem so happy. They say management is the reason. Because “we are treated so well”. This is trivial but worth mentioning. The shopping carts are great: sturdy and easy to maneuver. The isles are wide. The food is fres
- [R8] SiriusXM Apple Watch support: Please add an app for my Apple Watch!
- [R51] Costco One of the worst apps ; best stores: The app is pathetic when compared to Amazon or any other half decent E-commerce site. Log in is hard. Loses credentials constantly. Loses cart. The UI is from the 1990s. The team working on Costco app needs new thinking. New leadership.
- [R54] Costco Access Denied: Try to order on APP it couldn’t add to cart. Go to cart page it said access denied. Hope they will fix this issue soon
- [R63] Costco Horrible App: The mobile app is horrible. I’ve been a Costco member for years. I can’t login unless I add a passkey which is beyond frustrating. I just want to login using my username and password!! The passkey continuously pops up and it doesn’t allow me to login.
- [R69] Costco Unable to access Cart on the app: Could not complete the purchase as once item is added. The cart page is not accessible, it says Access Denied
- [R53] Costco Apple wallet: Would be nice to access my Costco ID through my Apple wallet
- [R62] Costco Make it available on Apple watch: Make the QR code available on Apple Watch please so I can just scan that to enter store!
- [R96] Costco Slow, logs out, no Apple wallet: The app is slow and laggy. It constantly logs me out, which is very annoying and unnecessary. Lack of Apple wallet support is very disappointing and outdated. They use a rolling QR code to combat card sharing, and people who follow the rules get lumped in with the cheaters and miss out on having a good app with good features. The app shows as five stars, but if yo
