Village Inn Rewards vs SmartRewards
SmartRewards is the better app, offering reliable functionality and clear savings on gas and in-store purchases, while Village Inn Rewards struggles with app usability and inconsistent food and service quality.
Village Inn Rewards users frequently complain about app glitches, difficulty accessing rewards, and declining food and service quality at the restaurants. SmartRewards, on the other hand, is praised for its ease of use, convenience for fueling, and tangible discounts on gas and in-store items.
Head to head
You are a frequent diner at Village Inn and are willing to overlook app glitches for the chance to earn rewards, especially if you have a positive relationship with staff at a specific location R14.
You regularly purchase gas and convenience store items at Cumberland Farms and want a reliable, easy-to-use app that provides consistent discounts and rewards R62.
Evidence note: The reviews for Village Inn Rewards are heavily skewed towards the restaurant experience rather than the app itself, making it challenging to assess app-specific features comprehensively. Many positive reviews are about specific servers or food items, not the app's functionality. SmartRewards reviews are more directly focused on the app's utility for gas and store purchases.

- [R1] Village Inn Rewards Looks nice: But awkward
- [R7] Village Inn Rewards Terrible app: I have the app but can’t get into it. Every time I put my phone # in to see rewards it tells me that # is already being used!
- [R22] Village Inn Rewards App is awful: What good is the app when it doesn’t let you pick all the options for an order. ie, omelets doesn’t provide the option for country potatoes.
- [R24] Village Inn Rewards Still no way to customize an order: Until this app has a way to customize orders, I’m forced to have to call in. Once that feature is added I will revise my vote but it’s basically unusable for me.
- [R13] Village Inn Rewards Shady discount advertising: They advertise five dollars off when you download the app, and on the webpage when viewed in mobile, you don’t read any caution that says that you must download the app before you create the account. So if you log into an account with the app, the phone will remember that you ever had an account on that app. So I try to make a new account because they’re fine. Print was
- [R14] Village Inn Rewards Rewards: Love the rewards Making a great place greater!! ✊🇺🇸👍😊
- [R32] Village Inn Rewards BYOB offer: At check out after scanning the QR code the host couldn’t get the register to except the offer the VI app did say it was for select entrees but no where on the offer it referred to what entrees were excepted. # rip off
- [R62] SmartRewards Great App for Gas: Nice and easy app for fuel and convenience store shopping. Great offers and discounts in the app and easy to earn rewards.
- [R2] Village Inn Rewards Good & service: Our food was excellent and Alicia was an excellent server!
- [R3] Village Inn Rewards Breakfast under new owners: For the most part front staff is wonderful as always. Back of the house however had the quality of food going downhill over the past couple years. Still probably one of the best places to have breakfast in Pueblo. VI quality just seems to be going downhill since Covid.
- [R4] Village Inn Rewards Order wrong: Forgot whip cream on pie. Ask for whip cream got none and slice pie was EXPENSIVE .Paid $5. No napkins or forks. Bad idea to order FOR pickup!!!!!
- [R6] Village Inn Rewards Not impressed: Not impressed. Out of coleslaw at 5pm.
- [R26] Village Inn Rewards Village Inn app support fraudulent: When you click the app’s contact support link it opens an email to Attentive Mobile which replies that it does NOT provide support
- [R64] SmartRewards Overall less value: The new rewards program isn’t all great. I don’t mind the cash rewards instead of free coffee rewards. What happened to the free birthday chocolate bar?? Also Cumberland funds the 10 cent discount by drastically driving up the cost of premium gas. If you buy the cheapest gas the 10 cents is a good deal but if you use premium then the 10 cents off pretty much brings the price
- [R83] SmartRewards Awards: It’s easy to receive points and use them as needed, either in the store or today I used $8.00 off my gas!
- [R90] SmartRewards Discount on gas: Discount on gas was not provided- very irritating, -
- [R9] Village Inn Rewards Home fries: Your hash browns were burnt and tasted like they were fried in old oil. I couldn’t eat them. The waitress never asked how I liked my food either or I would have told her. Perhaps it’s just me since I don’t eat that kind of food very much. Perhaps the oil you use is full of toxic ingredients and my tummy can’t handle it? Maybe it’s me. Probably not.
