Paired vs Lasting
Paired offers a more engaging and varied experience for couples seeking to connect daily, despite its aggressive monetization, while Lasting provides a more structured, therapy-like approach but suffers from significant technical and billing issues.
Paired excels at fostering daily connection through diverse questions and games, appealing to both new and long-term couples, though users frequently criticize its paywalls and subscription management. Lasting, recommended by therapists for its structured sessions, helps couples address specific issues but is plagued by bugs, high costs, and widespread reports of unauthorized charges.
Head to head
you want a fun, engaging app for daily connection and conversation starters, are in a long-distance relationship, or are a newer couple looking to learn more about each other R5.
you are looking for a structured, therapy-like approach to address specific relationship issues, especially if recommended by a therapist, and are willing to navigate potential technical and billing challenges R77.
Evidence note: Both apps have a significant number of negative reviews related to billing and subscription management, which skews recent ratings. Paired has a much larger user base, leading to more diverse feedback, while Lasting's smaller user base shows a higher proportion of severe technical and billing complaints.

- [R3] Paired OK at first…: It’s okay at first, then gets a little stale and repetitive. At first there was an option to shuffle the daily questions, then the developer eliminated that feature and made the app vastly less customizable. It’s probably best for couples in the first 5 - 10 years of marriage, but it doesn’t have tons of content and functionality for the 20+ year couples.
- [R5] Paired So nice and helpful: An amazing app that helps me and my long distance (NOT FOR LONG) amazing girlfriend connect on a deeper level and learn more about eachother. Also, I recently just got a new phone and I wasn’t able to get back into my paired account. We contacted paired services and they were able to recover my account very easily and they were very helpful.
- [R8] Paired Long distance flame: My husband and I have been married for 23 years. We’ve never been apart longer than five days. I got an opportunity to go overseas for work for five weeks. We were really worried about staying connected while I was there. The Paired app was amazing! It really helped us stay connected and even after 23 years of marriage, it helped us grow.
- [R9] Paired Married: I gave it a 3 because I believe the app is more for beginning couples or relationships rather than married couples even though it’s advertised like it is. If you say you’re married I believe the questions & formatting should be different. (Just a suggestion) on the other hand if you’re trying to rekindle and get to know your partner for who they have become I can see where it might aid
- [R2] Paired Forced updates: 700 day streak over here. Love the app. Hate when I’m in a hurry to do my daily question and the app forces an update. Please change that and I’ll be back to 5 stars!
- [R4] Paired Not working: Used one day and it started crashing afterwards haven’t been back on
- [R12] Paired Language limitations: It has French and German language options but no Spanish. Would really like to see the Spanish update
- [R24] Paired Secret Mission History: I wish there was a way to go back and view completed secret missions. If your partner completes one and you accidentally close the app while it’s loading - you can’t see the mission they completed.
- [R1] Paired I love it but I hate that they want to charge you to have more access: My husband and I love answering the daily question and we use what we can that’s free. I just wish they didn’t have to charge to access more.
- [R6] Paired Free version: This app is cool except there is nothing to “enjoy” if you can’t afford premium. The only thing available is the daily discussions. There is nothing other options or sections available. I would love to be able to purchase access but our budget would not allow it. Please make more available to those that can’t afford it.
- [R10] Paired Great app!: This is a great app. Interesting questions etc- however, the price of the premium app is a bit excessive. Almost 30$ a month.
- [R13] Paired Paywall: I do like the daily questions. The questions initiate conversation you wouldn’t think of. However 99% of the app is blocked behind a paywall. I understand that they can’t be completely free but it would be nice if there was a free option that wasn’t just a question a day. Maybe a free couples game a day or something other than just one question.
- [R7] Paired They’re gonna charge you: I canceled the free subscription on day four or something like that and they attempted to charge me on day seven as well as day eight even though my settings and everywhere says that my subscription has been canceled. I had to turn it credit card company as fraud. Still not sure if that’s gonna stop them from trying to charge it again thankfully I use the card that they c
- [R16] Paired Either an unacceptable unsubscribe bug or gross practices.: I kind of enjoyed the app but didn’t see the value for me using it long term after trial and I cancelled the premium the day it expires with PLENTY of time. I saw the screen confirmed my decision to unsubscribe, I had reached the final page of unsubscribing. This morning I woke up to a bill for a YEAR LONG SUBSCRIPTION.
- [R19] Paired Randomly Charges You: I haven’t used the apps in months. I confirmed I don’t have an active subscription but I still got charged for some reason. I wouldn’t trust it.
- [R63] Lasting Limited Options: I downloaded this app to help my partner and I communicate, and it's been helping tremendously. However, I find it extremely disappointing that there are limited options for free. We want to better out relationship without breaking bank as two long distance, broke college students. I really hope that there will be more free sessions in the future.
- [R66] Lasting Good content, frustrating bugs: My wife and I have been using the app for more than a week now. The sessions have really helped initiate some positive dialog. They are designed in small chunks and have been easy to get through. However, we felt that we were left on our own for those questions where we did not agree. You are just left hanging without much guidance as to how to get through the confl
- [R77] Lasting COMMUNICATION: Although, I am, only, in “Session 2” of “Communication,” It has been beneficial, collectively speaking. My husband♥️I have been engaging in the “Lasting App” for 1 yr. We have been participating in other, choice, topics, i.e., Speaking, Listening, Listing things we would like to do, together, that is new, to us, or have not done in a while; Discussing the most pertinent things tha
- [R80] Lasting So informative: I wish I could have found this so much sooner. I learned so much and the live sessions are so helpful. Unfortunately, in my case, my partner did not want to participate and it was one-sided. I still found a lot of helpful information
- [R28] Paired Continued to charge: Continued to try to charge me even after canceling subscription
- [R15] Paired Repetitive: Paired is fun at first, but with no new quiz types coming out, it gets boring. A lot could be improved here to get replay-ability.
