- [R1] USAA DriveSafe Collects data from Uber and other non insured with USAA vehicles.: The app is absolutely ignorant as to what and when I drive. If I uber on a Mexico vacation it collects data. If I ride with someone else it collects data. If I drive a vehicle insured by State Farm it collects data. At least State Farm has a module in the vehicle that lets them know ONLY when I’m driving/riding in the vehicle
- [R5] USAA DriveSafe Finally! Recognition of Great Driving! But the app makes many mistakes.: 60 years of driving with zero infractions. Glad that my driving habits finally get a cash reward. But this app continues to be unable to distinguish whether I am the driver or the passenger. My wife and I are almost always together in the car, sharing driving duties. But the app fails to identify who is driving and I have to
- [R6] USAA DriveSafe Penalized for receiving calls while traveling: I am traveling with my Airstream and have to take business calls, hands free and send messages and I get dinged for getting and receiving calls plus I get rated for sending a hands free messaging. Also if I am taking a picture while stopped I get dinged.
- [R7] USAA DriveSafe Discount is good but app does not track well: Have been using for over a year and you can get a good discount. But app cannot reliably recognize if you’re the driver or passenger. And if you’re driving a work vehicle you have to edit it manually for every single trip. And it can use up a lot of battery running in the background. I would much rather use the small Bluetooth devices that other insure
- [R10] USAA DriveSafe Need a device for the car: USAA needs a device that stays in your own vehicle similar to State Farm’s device. Tired of getting penalized for not even driving and constantly having to go into the app to change my penalties.
- [R12] USAA DriveSafe Discount: I’ve had issues getting the app to work correctly. The location always & app update keep on not working properly. I’ve deleted & reloaded but it doesn’t change.
- [R3] USAA DriveSafe Driving: I’m old and don’t drive very far anymore and just noticed my discount just dropped from 6%to 5% and the score went from mid 70’s to 70. I just got home. No phone use or hard breaking. I don’t get it.
- [R8] USAA DriveSafe Driving Score: It is a good app. The only issue I have is why can your score fluctuate when you have no events? The app should explain why the score changes. Also, I tried about 30 nicknames and it said all were taken.
- [R13] USAA DriveSafe Terrible functionality: The app does not recognize when you are a driver or passenger, you are dinged for hands free calling (even though that is permitted by law), and it is too sensitive and lacks intuition to know what is “harsh breaking”. The design is severely flawed.
- [R19] USAA DriveSafe Quit it with the tacking: I find it extremely alarming that, in order to pay less for something that doesn’t benefit me in the long run, you have to collect all sorts of data and information, you mislead the public to give up their freedoms to travel in order to obtain “better rates” for a scam that at the end if someone where to crash my vehicle you will simply not pay me for the tidal dames or t
- [R39] USAA DriveSafe Can’t recognize when I am a passenger: While I enjoy the discount I receive, this app is a source of anxiety because it can never tell when I am a passenger, so I have to remember to go through my trips and painstakingly mark them, or I will be penalized. The harsh braking detection is absurdly oversensitive.
- [R16] USAA DriveSafe Logs bogus events: I’ve tried to be patient with this app. It logs bogus ‘harsh breaking’ events and has lowered my score with no way to remedy it except lie and say you are a passenger. Fix it or I’m out!
- [R62] ShiftPower Used for 3 years: I have this installed on my Genesis coupe bk1 3.8 & the pedal has always been set to super sport. In beginning it’s been in eco but as cars get quicker I decided to keep it in SS mode. I use lockout mode everyday whenever it’s home, work, going out & gives a good sense of security. No issues or problems with this product & will continue to use with other vehicles. Good practice i
- [R63] ShiftPower ShiftPower is the BEST!: I had the Pedal Commander and apologize to the person who bought it from me! Moved onto the ShiftPower-USA and totally no regrets. More features and much more reliability. App just makes ShiftPower more flexible with customizable features and especially the Lock anti-theft mode.
- [R64] ShiftPower Super Fast Now- Awesome App integration!: Man this is the best mod on my car yet. Fully adjustable, easily integrated into your personalization. It doesn’t add HP it just brings you to it much faster. My 2020 Camry SE does well in traffic in the highway, but is a dog in the city. My car snaps to attention now, shift like it has a plan. Safety is a must on push button start. Valet for the kids
- [R4] USAA DriveSafe Always on: This is the ONLY app on my phone that requires location services “Always On”. It refuses to work with “while using app” & keeping the app open in the background. Always On drains my battery & interrupts my privacy. USAA needs to fix their protocol requirements for this app or I’m going to have to drop out of their drive safe program.
- [R9] USAA DriveSafe Invasion of privacy?: The idea of the app is not bad. Unfortunately, it tracks every location precisely that you visit. There is no way for you to indicate that your passenger, or a child may have been using your phone while you were driving. This comes back in a review of your driving habits. My safe driving score is compromised because my passenger chose to put an address into our GPS whi
