Propel vs Indiana WIC
Indiana WIC is the safer and more reliable choice for managing WIC benefits, despite some functional issues, while Propel faces serious allegations of security breaches and consistent performance problems.
Propel, despite its higher number of ratings, is plagued by severe security concerns, with multiple users reporting stolen funds and compromised information, and frequent app malfunctions R1R4R10R15. Indiana WIC, while not without its own technical glitches like a faulty barcode scanner and occasional crashes, is generally praised for its convenience, accuracy, and helpfulness in managing WIC benefits and appointments R94.
Head to head
You are aware of the significant security risks and app malfunctions reported by many users, and you still wish to try Propel for its reported ability to track EBT spending and access discount offers R20R22.
You are an Indiana WIC participant looking for a convenient way to track your benefits, manage appointments, and check approved items, and you are willing to tolerate occasional app crashes or a faulty barcode scanner R94.
Evidence note: Propel's lifetime rating is high, but a significant portion of recent reviews are highly negative, focusing on severe security breaches and consistent app failures. Indiana WIC's reviews are generally positive, with functional issues being the main complaint rather than security.

- [R1] Propel Locked me out: Do not download this app it locked me out of my app. I got a new card from my assistance office. Try entering that and it wouldn’t let me link a new card. This app sucks. Do not download. I’m currently going through a situation where my County assistance can’t even help me due to the fact propel got my information locked on their account so any card I received will be locked
- [R4] Propel Thieves: Horrible they are stealing through this app!!!!!!!!!
- [R10] Propel Skimming cards/leaking information-download connect EBT.: YALL HURRY AND GO DOWNLOAD CONNECT EBT! You know the app is bad when the county assistance office tells you to delete it and download CONNECT EBT because Propel is skimming cards and leaking people’s private information😳 you would think they have a fire wall set up for people‘s private information, but it doesn’t seem like they’ve taken an

- [R27] Propel Worst app ever: My app keeps saying locked. I tried to unblock it. It will not let me unblock it. I tried contacting the number. They said it was unblocked, but on the app is still blocked and I can’t get it very disappointed customer
- [R33] Propel This app NEVER UPDATES: The app rarely ever opens? Sometimes I’ll try logging in and it says the app is having some kind of difficulty. Other times when I actually load in the balance is a previous one from a month or 2 ago. And 9/10 it says it can’t update right now. I don’t know if it’s only my phone but this is a ridiculously difficult to use. And im always unsure what’s accurate amounts are
- [R25] Propel Account was hacked: My account was skimmed and I was advised to avoid this app. Regardless of the response I received, it was confirmed my information was stolen via Propel. Notice how I didn’t say my benefits were stolen, it was just assumed.
- [R94] Indiana WIC Awesome app to have: This app is very helpful because half the time Kroger, Walmart or the iga will try and hassle you but with the app you can scan barcodes and have accurate information on what you can buy! Also all your appointments are available with reminders which is great since most appointments are scheduled three months in advance!!!
- [R100] Indiana WIC Linda Murillo: I think it’s very helpful when u don’t know what’s approved and what’s not. It really comes in handy and then u don’t have to call or keep receipts to see what u have. It’s all right there in the app.

- [R6] Propel Was great: This really served its purpose well up until recently. I have uninstalled the app twice now due to error messages, saying that they are unable to access the network. However, I keep getting notifications from the app, unfortunately, I’m not able to check the notifications because as soon as I open it, there’s an error.
