- [R2] Google Arts & Culture Good potential, but ditch the AI: This app has a lot of potential and I was really looking forward to using it as an alternative to mindless scrolling. Unfortunately Google is leaning into AI way too much, including having soulless AI-generated podcasts that “discuss” art. What an insult to humanity! I had to immediately uninstall.
- [R3] Google Arts & Culture AI features are a miss: I think this app is a great resource in general for art fans. But these AI features being pushed upon the user base are a huge turn off. Why would a fan of visual art, likely an artist themselves, want to listen to an AI character podcasting about Starry Night? I think the AI audio stuff is downright useful in Notebook LM, but here? Just feels like a devaluing of human expr
- [R68] DailyArt Daily beauty and a few moments of peace: Any time during the day, when I need a quiet moment, I can open DailyArt and get not only quiet and beauty but also history and culture.
- [R109] DailyArt My daily dash of culture: Daily Art presents one piece of art a day with a description. They select artwork from museums around the world and I look forward to seeing images and reading about artists I never knew existed. The app and content is free. The upgrade gives you more access to articles, is very affordable and worth it to support the app.
- [R54] Google Arts & Culture App used to be much easier to use.: I don’t know why it was felt that the app needed to be drastically changed, but the latest redesign just makes it harder to discover and browse a variety of art works. The whole app just feel much more convoluted now with way too many features that make it less simple to use. The removal of landscape mode on iPad is another big annoyance and an incredibly strang
- [R36] Google Arts & Culture poor search and content organization: it is unbelievable how poor the search is in a google app of all things! if i try to search for “van Dongen”, in results, i won’t see Kees van Dongen’s page at all! you have to type the name in full and without errors, like it’s 1998 and the organization of information is very disappointing. the first thing i saw today when i downloaded and opened this app is
- [R70] DailyArt Too many adds: I can’t look at any of the content because there are too many ads
- [R72] DailyArt Not all change is good...: I so enjoyed this app until the new version was introduced. Now it is constant frustration. You begin to read and then it immediately goes to an ad. You click off the ad and begin to read again and then there’s another ad. And this is for the "paid for" version of this app. I no longer recommend this and find I turn to it less and less. To bad they changed a good thing.
- [R1] Google Arts & Culture Broken App: This app has failed to work for the last two months. Opening it shows “app error” every time. It’s not a network connection as all my apps work properly except this one.
- [R21] Google Arts & Culture Not opening: Keeps crashing and is refusing to open on my phone.
- [R69] DailyArt A surf through museum websites might be better: The app has been super glitchy for me. The art is great. Maybe it’s my VPN, but Im growing more and more tired with having to share all of my information to ad companies in order to get an app to work properly.
- [R120] DailyArt not loading: i just purchased the annual subscription but none of the material is loading. i get a “we can’t reach our servers now” message for everything…
- [R61] DailyArt very difficult to maneuver: cannot get past becoming a premium member to bring up any artwork - this app lists as free but will not allow you to see any art work - will delete
- [R67] DailyArt I’m not paying for stuff I can google: I downloaded the app to look at abstract art and some other genres, BUT I have to pay to see abstract art or pretty much anything unique
- [R81] DailyArt Good, but put off my subscription model: I like this app and would like to buy it in order to remove the ads. But there’s only a subscription option where I have to make regular payments. So I’ll stick with the free version. Shame for everyone.
- [R96] DailyArt Ads and paywall: This would be a decent app if 1) ads weren’t constantly appearing, and 2) bookmarking certain art pieces and exploring different art styles weren’t behind a paywall. With the current state of things, AI slop being everywhere and capitalism at an all-time high, this isn’t good enough.
- [R33] Google Arts & Culture Does not always work on ipad: Does not let me scroll through articles. Today it’s not working well with the extinct birds. Has wrong description for bird I am viewing. Description belongs to previously viewed bird. Also stays on same view when I try to scroll. App support won’t let me in to report this!
- [R52] Google Arts & Culture Not opening: Mine doesn’t even load past the starting screen. It’s says that there was some connection error but everything I search for says to power off my device (already tried) or my data settings. I haven’t got past the loading screen. And it’s definitely not my internet. Will update if it works!!
- [R94] DailyArt Too much tracking!: This app is just a data harvesting machine. I understand that they need to make money but give me a chance to pay BEFORE forcing me to give my privacy away!
- [R118] DailyArt Membership: You cannot do anything now unless you are a member.
