Sweat vs FitOn Workouts & Fitness Plans
FitOn offers a wider variety of free workouts and a more positive community, making it a better choice for most users, despite some recent app stability and casting issues.
Sweat provides structured, progressive workout programs, especially for women, but struggles with app stability and recent removal of popular features. FitOn boasts a vast library of free workouts, diverse trainers, and a supportive community, though recent updates have introduced technical glitches and paywalls for previously free features like screen mirroring.
Head to head
you are a woman looking for structured, progressive workout programs, particularly postpartum or strength-focused, and are willing to tolerate recent app stability issues R11R14.
you want a wide variety of free workout videos, enjoy diverse trainers, and appreciate a positive community, even if it means dealing with recent app glitches and paywalls for some features .
Evidence note: Recent reviews for both apps show a negative skew due to technical issues and feature changes. Sweat's positive reviews often highlight its effectiveness and variety of programs for women, while FitOn's positive reviews emphasize its free content and diverse trainers. The free-vs-paid asymmetry is notable for FitOn, where many negative reviews stem from previously free features now being behind a paywall.

- [R3] Sweat Overall, happy with some suggestions: I’m a regular user of the app and overall I really love it. One feature I especially appreciate is the ability to substitute exercises, because it makes the workouts much more flexible depending on what equipment is available at my gym. That said, I wanted to share some feedback about a couple of areas that could make the app even better. First, I’ve noticed
- [R11] Sweat Don guess your workouts: I love that my workouts for the day/week are planned out for me. I don’t have to think about what to do! I love the programs too! I’ve done many of the strength plans and currently completing the postpartum plan.
- [R14] Sweat Barre with Britney (beginner): Amazing program! I hadn’t worked out since before my baby who is 1 year old now, and it has been a great program to build my strength and endurance, Challenge me, and sculpt my body with great ways to modify until my core got stronger.
- [R22] Sweat Boring: Tried one of the workout plans. Leg day was just squats and wall sit on repeat for increasing reps each time. Can get that from YouTube.
- [R1] Sweat Please fix this: The app easily makes it so you skip the superset and then once you start the cooldown you can’t go back and do the superset. PLEASE FIX THIS You should be able to go back to a section of your workout!
- [R6] Sweat Aaaaaaaa: Love the app when I can get in. FREQUENTLY crashes before it opens. Annoying.
- [R8] Sweat Mid year fitness challenge: I loved my first strength workout and the app is very user friendly and amazing.
- [R9] Sweat Ok…when it works: Not sure what is happening with the app at the moment but it launches the start screen then drops out immediately. When it works it’s ok - could offer a broader strength range and then ability to swap sets around depending on equipment availability (E.g. if someone is currently using the leg press so you want to skip to another set then come back to it once the equipment is free
- [R7] Sweat Poor workout programming and scammy: I had canceled my subscription for this app after signing up for a one year plan months before it was supposed to renew, however, they still tried to charge my card for another year when it came close to the renewal date. The workouts also aren't well programmed and don't follow sound progressive overload principles.
- [R10] Sweat Not free: Don’t claim it’s free and it’s not stop luring to people don’t deserve a star for ur lies
- [R13] Sweat Won’t load!: I got a membership with them and lately it’s just not loading for me or letting me see my workouts. They really charge a lot for an app not to be working.
- [R16] Sweat Impossible to deactivate subscription: It’s is extremely difficult to deactivate the subscription.
- [R26] Sweat Doesnt work: Wont even let me sign in , i put my dob and my name and it will not let me sign in i an old enough for the app as im 18 in 3 months so it cant be an age thing i tried different emails and still wont work
- [R28] Sweat Terrible: It wouldn’t let me sign in and wasn’t a good experience and made me pay an amount of money to get in
- [R70] FitOn Workouts & Fitness Plans Screen mirroring: Love this app but hate that it literally blocks you from screen mirroring to your tv :( I can’t afford internet right now let alone a premium subscription so it just sucks that I have to do it off of my tiny phone screen
- [R73] FitOn Workouts & Fitness Plans Lost Chromecast Functionality: Loved this app but it no longer works with Chromecast on iPhone (they switched casting function from AirPlay to Screen Mirroring). Watching on a tiny iPhone is NOT worth paying for…. Contacted support who insisted it was my devices or network, despite Chromecast working perfectly fine with literally every other app I own besides this one (make that make sense?). D
- [R78] FitOn Workouts & Fitness Plans AirPlay limited to paid tier: I enjoy the fitness routines. However, they have just removed AirPlay. It is now behind a paywall.
- [R85] FitOn Workouts & Fitness Plans Use to be Good: Now it’s trash, pay for everything. I was using the app way before they started charging. Now charge to your own music, charge to mirror. I have never paid to use this features until I came to use it. I will no longer tell people to download this app or use this app.
- [R36] Sweat Lost value after removing the food plan: I’m very disappointed to open my app today and find the food planner has been removed after purchasing an annual subscription. It’s a good app as far as exercise programs are concerned, I enjoy using it for that. But I really loved the features that had daily meal suggestions and a shopping list, as it made the app unique and convinced me it was worth the
- [R38] Sweat They removed the food plan: I’ve rated this app 5 stars ever since it was released, but they have hugely downgraded it by removing the food plan. There are barely any vegan recipes now, when there used to be a wide variety before. I could previously set my preference as vegan and have an excellent meal plan. There are like 4 breakfast meals if you search and none are vegan. Prior to this there w
- [R51] Sweat Love love love Sweat BUT…: I truly love this app. But I need a feature added. Back story, in 2023 I was training for the police department and needed to get in shape and used the app and meal plans religiously. But you took away the meal plan calendar, I felt like I lost the weight A LOT faster when your app had it all laid out for me: work outs and what I should eat every day. Can we have an opti
- [R68] FitOn Workouts & Fitness Plans Love the positivity!!❤️❤️❤️: Since I have come to FitOn, I have noticed how positive the community of trainers are! I specifically love to listen and train with Jeanette Jenkins! She’s super sweet and fun to listen to! The one complaint I have is that none of the food plans are free. At least have a couple food options free. Other than that it’s great! Keep it up!!!
- [R30] Sweat Money being stolen from account: I had cancelled my subscription months ago and you are still taking money from my account, which is against the law. I have disputed all payments with my bank who have thankfully blocked all payments from being taken. Please can you stop taking my money otherwise I will be forced to take legal action against your company. I have proof of this.
- [R75] FitOn Workouts & Fitness Plans Good until you want to cancel your subscription: Loved the app until I wanted to cancel my subscription. It just took a while to get it sorted
