Aladdin Connect vs Finch
Finch is the better choice for personal well-being and habit tracking, offering a more engaging and supportive experience, while Aladdin Connect is a functional but often frustrating utility for garage door control.
Aladdin Connect provides remote garage door control but is plagued by frequent connectivity issues, slow performance, and a lack of modern smart home integrations. Finch, a self-care and habit-tracking app, excels with its engaging gamified approach and positive impact on users' mental health, despite some complaints about paid features and occasional bugs.
Head to head
Evidence note: The evidence for Aladdin Connect's support is limited to a few highly negative reviews, but they are very specific. Finch's support evidence is more widespread across multiple users experiencing similar issues.

- [R2] Aladdin Connect Very useful features, and easy to use!: Very easy to check door open/close status, verify who last opened or closed the door, how long the door has been open or closed, etc. - from anywhere in the world as long as your home wifi connection is good. Also very easy to open or close a door remotely and get confirmation that the requested action was completed. Very intuitive and useful app!
- [R3] Aladdin Connect Aladdin User: Would like to have smart watches added to control door.
- [R5] Aladdin Connect Remote access +: We have all left and can’t remember if we closed the garage, the app will let you know how long ago it was closed and let you close it if indeed you forgot. Simple to connect to the app and set up to your WiFi.
- [R6] Aladdin Connect Ok, but could be better: Works ok, but would be nice if it showed up on the Apple Car Play screen. Would be much safer and more convenient than having to do this from the phone itself. How hard could this be?
- [R1] Aladdin Connect The Worst App Ever: Trying to connect my garage door to this app is an excruciatingly painful process. After I switched to a new WiFi 7 router, I was unable to ever sync the door to my new network. Thanks for a low quality product.
- [R4] Aladdin Connect Connection issues: App issue connecting
- [R8] Aladdin Connect Owner: I keep losing my wifi to the garage door opener even though I have a wifi extender in the garage area. Can you help me??
- [R10] Aladdin Connect No longer Connect: It was working for about a year or so and now will no longer connect.
- [R11] Aladdin Connect Mostly good.: The app usually works well 99% of the time and allows remote control of my garage door from my cell phone anywhere I go. Occasionally it will disconnect of go down, and it usually seems like it is when I away and need it to work. It’s bit of a cumbersome process to reboot.
- [R16] Aladdin Connect Not great: Originally this was a great system, now a couple years in it has errors as often as it works. It literally never works when we come home in the car. Usually works in the morning, will work it I am going to shop to workout, but after leaving in the car and coming home gets door not responding error. I have replaced every battery and sensor on the unit. It has to be a software issue.
- [R19] Aladdin Connect Cheap: Dont waste your time with Aladdin. Cheapest system on the market is never the best and this system is awful. Have replaced all of mine and have had no issues at all and actually get help from support now
- [R49] Aladdin Connect Customer support is the worst.: I’ve only had one representative who was willing to take the time to walk me through programming my garage door. I would never purchase this product ever again. Support is the worst. The product does not work. I hate everything about it. While trying to program my remote, I called Customer Service and the rep hung up on me. She did not believe the information that I
- [R67] Finch Terrible product support and some real flaws: The app doesn’t warn you that you will lose all your points unless you collect them by a certain time, and the support team won’t restore them to you if you didn’t realize that. There are also some racist issues with the themes and some sexist stereotypes. In addition, it started out more calm but is feeling more and more like social media lite.
- [R73] Finch Still charging me money: It’s still charging me payments when I cancelled my subscription and it’s happened 4 different times now I can’t download stuff bc it’s trying to make me pay all of it and it’s been charging me twice in one week for no reason..???
- [R15] Aladdin Connect Apple CarPlay: Please get this on Apple CarPlay
- [R24] Aladdin Connect Convenient however…: Would be nice if the app could be directly with CarPlay. I know there are work arounds but it would be easier just as a button.
- [R39] Aladdin Connect Needs apple carplay support: The app is good but it really needs apple carplay support. Especially since vehicle manufacturers are cheaping out and not installing homelink openers in vehicles. It will also help with going from vehicle to vehicle without having to reprogram each vehicle to the doors.
- [R9] Aladdin Connect Love the app, hate that it’s tough rebook up after outage.: Why does it go offline every time there is an outage? It’s a pain to get it reconnected
- [R70] Finch Overly self-promotional, have to pay for custom goals: Every day it gives me a goal to add a friend/invite someone to the app- I don’t want to spam my friends that way. If you want to use any icon for a goal besides the golf hole, it forces you into one of its premade self-care areas. Even if you manually select a different area, it keeps the default self-care area also, making the app more cumbe
- [R71] Finch 🙁: I don’t like how you have to pay for outfits with little gems
- [R95] Finch Fun and good and healthy: Things amazing but the one thing I hate is like most of stuff is expensive and I’m does premium and I like the stuff you get, but it’s money and I wish it was free
- [R104] Finch Extremely fun!!: I absolutely love how much there is to do in the free version, new items every day and attainable ways gain gems for those items by simply holding yourself accountable to your own to-do lists! The sense of satisfaction is awesome, I love to play games and complete everything I can so this will be something I check everyday.
- [R65] Finch Love this app: I have 111 day streak and it is my favorite app it is so helpful and fun! I have the membership and it’s the absolute best! Would 100% recommend my finch is my best friend!
- [R83] Finch LOVEEEEE: I absolutely love this app! It helps me with my routines, hygiene, and nutrition!
- [R86] Finch FINCH: It’s a good app and helps you do what you need to do and take care of yourself of yourself at the same time
- [R98] Finch So calming: Helped with my anxiety
