Microsoft Outlook
Microsoft Outlook remains a highly-rated email and calendar app, praised for its organization and ease of use, but recent updates have introduced significant bugs, particularly with calendar syncing, search functionality, and general app stability.
Microsoft Outlook is generally well-regarded for its comprehensive email and calendar management, with many users finding it intuitive and efficient for both personal and professional use. However, recent updates have led to a noticeable increase in negative feedback, citing issues with calendar synchronization, search functionality, and app crashes, which contradict the developer's claims of performance improvements.

Who it's for
This app is for individuals and professionals who need a comprehensive email and calendar solution, especially those already integrated into the Microsoft ecosystem for work or school R6R27R72. It is suitable for users who value an organized interface and multi-account management R17R75. However, users who rely heavily on a perfectly functioning calendar, robust search, or consistent app stability may find recent versions frustrating R16R37R71.
Evidence note: The recent reviews skew more negative than the lifetime rating suggests, indicating a potential decline in user satisfaction following recent updates. While there are many positive reviews, the negative points are often detailed and consistent across multiple users, particularly regarding calendar, search, and stability issues. The developer's release notes claiming 'performance improvements and bug fixes' are directly contradicted by numerous recent user reports of new bugs and crashes R11R16R21R71.

- [R7] Easy to use: Your app is way much easier to use and understand than most email sites. Thank you.
- [R13] Fantastic App: Very organized and easy to use.
- [R29] A Jack Of All Trades: Microsoft Outlook App, is undoubtedly, matchless!
- [R60] Alan’s Review: The best email layout I have ever seen. So easy to navigate.
- [R17] Excellent all - UX can still improve.: Overall syncing multiple accounts has been improved, new enhancements make quality of life better. But interface can still use adjustments and modernization.
- [R75] Best Email software 10 stars.: The best email software hands down can have multiple mailboxes all in one GUI.
- [R82] All in one: I love calendar and emails all in one app
- [R91] Easy to use: Saves me signing in all the time to different accounts
- [R6] School email address: This email system has been easily accessible for communication and access to the apps, I will continue to use this in the future as well
- [R27] Outlook: great professional experience for work and college
- [R72] Great app: Great app to use for 1.school 2.work 3. Any communication :)
- [R84] Very useful: Outlook is very useful in helping me stay updated in school as it is easily accessible at any time, easy to use for anyone and is extremely simple. Great app. I recommend.✌🏻
- [R23] 5 out of 5: Awesome look, easy to navigate, emails arrive in a timely manner; no waiting or delays and in my case it always sorts out emails correctly once I designate an email as spam I don’t see anymore from that sender, great tech and even better system!
- [R39] Reliable: I’ve used this since hotmail. Very reliable, great spam control and integration with onedrive etc. all around great product and ecosystem
- [R16] Calendar stopped refreshing: On one of the recent updates the calendar to stop refreshing. Meetings are moved but not being reflected in the calendar. I’ve tried restarting, still out of date.
- [R87] UTC & Contacts: Calendar rescheduling continues to default to UTC Contact creation impossible for entries without person names (eg an company name alone cannot be saved)
- [R119] New calendar lay out: Change the calendar layout back to the old one. There is not reason if I want to look at the month of march that I need to see the entire last week of feb and the first week of April. The lines are so harsh and just unappealing.
- [R143] Daylight savings: Couldn’t show proper time for the events scheduled before Australia eastern daylight saving time started. Even though the calendar items show the correct date and time on outlook.com
- [R19] Search feature: The search feature still needs some work because I can find an email in a specific folder but not always in the “search all folders”
- [R30] Search Function not good: As in title
- [R37] Good email bad search: Outlook search is miserable. Calendar, mail sorting and options otherwise are fantastic.
- [R66] Search tool is so annoying: They updated it but now you can’t use the dropdown option to find a different folder to search from. Way to make it more inconvenient
- [R11] Latest update: I have not been able to login since the latest update. I need this for my job. I’ve been having to use a pc to access my emails
- [R21] Buggy, drains the battery: The app keeps on asking for my email account password at random times and it drains the battery fast. The phone is always warm. I have to delete it. Those needless weekly updates do more damage than good.
- [R50] Logs me out weekly: So work emails are missed until I notice.
- [R71] App is not working crashes using iOS 18 needs fix: I have re started my phone 3 times... click on app - crashes and goes back to phone Home Screen
- [R8] New emails issues: Hard to send new emails
- [R83] It’s now broken: Outlook for iOS used to work well. Now it is useless. Yes you can read your received emails but don’t bother trying to reply. They just get stuck in your outbox. I have updated both iOS and Outlook, done a network reset, tried every potential fix I can find on the web but it’s still broken. Which seems to be par for the course with Microsoft lately.
- [R111] Ok: I can’t send an email without doing it from drafts
- [R25] Can't disable Co-pilot, doesn't sync: I DO NOT WANT AI IN ANYTHING! If you click disable Co-pilot it still stays on. I added appointments to the app and it didn't sync to the desktop. Just not very good, I'll have to go back to Google Calendar. Microsoft is a shell of what it was, stop wasting money on AI and just build good products.
- [R31] “What do you think of our app” popups are super duper annoying: These popups asking if I’m enjoying the app makes me not enjoy the app and leave bad reviews. Stop doing that.
- [R53] Well developed but some major flaws: The AI underlining the words I’m typing corrects already correct punctuation and spelling wrong and happens very often.
- [R80] iOS app is good but only use it because I must for enterprise: Good enough, works for work and is the only choice. What I dislike most is the regularly prompts asking if I like Outlook. Please don’t bug me.
- [R24] Accessibility problems: It should really be a 2 star mark for poor and frustrating ongoing voice over usability glitches . Too often the app closes when swiping or hitting space , or ente on the keyboard . Second, when editing emails , the cursor moves to the top while typing resulting in text being entered in the town part before use realizes it. I am blind , as is my husband . We are very well
- [R28] Review: I find the calendar a bit cumbersome and confusing when i am in a rush and the way emails are grouped makes it unclear what is most recent, and causes confusion looking for an email (latest) at times - On apple ipad
- [R120] Copilot???: AI slop icon can’t be turned off
- [R149] Copilot is everywhere and useless: Please remove copilot it gets in the way of productive use
- [R14] My feedback on Outlook application: This application is very helpful for me because it organises my meetings and reminds me of important things. I really appreciate tools like Outlook, along with AI and other helpful resources, as they make my life easier.
- [R97] Reliable and Easy to Use: Smooth, fast, and organised. Email, calendar, and files all work together without issues. A solid app for daily use.
