Who it's for
This app is for visitors to Sun Valley Resort who primarily need basic access to trail maps and general mountain updates, provided the app functions on their device and they are not reliant on accurate real-time data or advanced features. It is not for users expecting a feature-rich, reliable, or interactive resort app with accurate real-time conditions, run tracking, or personal account integration R1R3R29R33.
Evidence note: The recent reviews skew heavily negative, with a significant number of 1-star ratings. While the lifetime rating is high (4.7/5), the recent sentiment (58.8% negative) indicates a sharp decline in user satisfaction, largely due to technical issues and loss of features following updates. The developer's notes mention a 'refreshed design' and 'all the resources you need,' but recent reviews directly contradict this, reporting app not opening, inaccurate data, and missing features.

- [R28] Great ski app!: One of the best resort apps… thank you… maps, conditions, forecast. Some trails grooming status say last updated 30 days ago… does not seem correct.
- [R49] Great app.: The perfect app for exploring Sun Valley.
- [R45] Good app: Good app. Nice to have the map on your phone. Run tracker is a little off. Never use to be.
- [R27] Helpful But...: App is helpful AND actually works on the mountain. Weather and snow report are very accurate. But, a grooming report accessed from homepage (vs. several clicks away) would be helpful in navigating the mountain. Even cooler would be a grooming report map accessed from the home page.
- [R48] Easy to use: Very intuitive. Easy to navigate app and the tracking feature is very cool.
- [R31] Apps great skiings great: amazing skiing and easy to use app
- [R7] App doesn’t open: Latest version of app won’t open on latest version of iPhone.
- [R10] New app doesn’t open on 18.3.2: So glad to hear you updated the app for the World Cup finals, but it doesn’t matter if you can’t open and use the app. You should test any new app update on a variety of phones and definitely make sure it’s compatible with recent and current versions of iOS. Not a great look Sun Valley!
- [R11] Latest update: Won’t open on IPhone 18.3.2
- [R17] Not loading: App suddenly stopped working. Says it’s out of date but it’s not.
- [R6] Not even trying…: The app never shows the correct snowfall…what a joke
- [R16] Incorrect Weather: Does not show accurate weather information in real time on the mountain.
- [R18] Useless: Did SV forget to hire someone to keep ski and snow conditions updated on this app? Info is never right.
- [R30] Inaccurate Data: This is a useful app but it could be improved with accurate weather information. The temperatures and forecast are generally wrong and to a large “degree”. The temperature data top and bottom rarely shows any relation to reality. I use multiple weather apps and Sun Valley rarely is even close. And the forecast temps are even worse, so often they show temperatures from morning
- [R9] SV Lover: Love all the mountain updates. Do wish the run tracker was still available on the app.
- [R12] Vertical tracker: The app is useful but world benefit from a vertical tracker like most large (and smaller) resorts offer
- [R29] Need ski tracking & with a group of skiers: A world class resort like SV should have a ski tracker and a group skier app like so many other mountains already do. It’s a destination resort which almost always says a group or meeting sone people there. Why not let them find each other on the mountain. This is a big miss on this app.
- [R36] Ski day tracking?: Please update so we can log in and track our ski days virtually such as the Aspen Snowmass app allows.
- [R26] App too complicated: Too complicated and not user-friendly. It’s too hard to find the areas of interest.
- [R24] not easy to navigate: not easy to navigate
- [R41] Please fix: Even this field has invisible tax. Fix the user interface, make the front panel interface customizable to use her preferences. Insert the mount report back on the main page. Went off and checked the top and bottom temperatures
- [R35] Trail maps don’t work: I was hoping to use this app to have the trail map easily accessible and maybe even offline 🤞. Unfortunately, the app prompts me to “download high res version”, it does that and works great, but then 1-2hrs later the trail map never shows up. Only a blank screen. I can see the symbols for the open runs and lifts and search for trails, but only a blank screen. I deleted the
- [R33] Not Up To Par for A #1 Resort: Uninspiring template based app. No integration into pass status and or tracking. No resort integration. Save yourself the trouble and use the website and the website’s mountain report page to get all the mountain info without all the unnecessary clicking.
- [R40] Season pass holder: Agree. It’s clearly got an updated look and has potential but there is no ability to log in and track your personal info such as days on the mountain. When I asked at the lodge why this was so no one seemed to know or really care. One guy said “just ask the guy that checks your ticket at the lift for days skied, etc”. Well that’s a big step backwards. I’m looking forward to thi
- [R1] Sun valley meh: Like everything sun Valley has to offer the app is basic. Designed to appeal to rich skiers and get them to spend more money on overpriced amenities. I’ve skied and boarded here for over 50 years and the only thing that saves the mountain is they can’t bulldoze all the steepness out.
- [R15] Marketing app: This app is not very helpful. It does not provide much information about the mountain, conditions, parking, opening times, real lodge details. Lots of links to the Sun Vally resort marketing website
- [R34] Not Sun Valley Quality: Take this down until it can be Sun Valley 5 star quality.
- [R3] Needs a ton of work: This app could be so much more creative and useful! As locals, we tried to use for mountain and area information, but it simply needs a new beginning and fresh look.
- [R47] Good app.: It is a good app. Some of the features don't work though and that can be frustrating. The run tracker's speed mapper is broken, and the profile has no meaning. All it does is just sit there and require you to make an account for no reason. The map also needs work, maybe adding the interactive map from the website in and then quit using google maps might help. I think that it needs work,
