The app technology isn’t ‘sexy’, but the content and news is factual and accurate. Straight forward. Very little politics or ‘points of view’. Which is wonderful! The authors/journalists treat the readers like they are adults. Thank you for not being a typical news app

They’re disruptive and long and mostly for mobile phone games I would never play. I would actually pay a small amount of money for an adfree subscription or paid app to get rid of them.

[R22] 1/5 · US App Forces Ads: App now forces advertisements when you have viewed about 3-4 news stories and media player is set to play under the default settings, which disrupts other apps if they’re playing. Poorly designed app which is really pushing the ad game to viewers who just want to read about local and national news.

[R6] 1/5 · US One star downgrade: The auto playing video feed and the inability to disable it has brought me to delete the app. Incredibly frustrating to have the video take over as it does at nearly any given point in the day. It seems to be that only a few hours a day no video is being fed to the app. The rest has been a persistent pain to use. Too bad from one of the top news sources in the country.

15. [R27] 4/5 · US Stop the autoplay: I open your app to check local headlines and sometimes I’m listening to a podcast or watching YouTube, etc.. your app will start automatically playing the broadcast stream if the news is playing. Not cool, man.

When they push a headline to you and you click on it you end up at some advertising screen and can’t find the story you were interested in. The search function, if you can find it, does not find the story you want and repeatedly reporting the issue to tech support only yields cricket chirp

How much they harass you with this app. I cannot believe how much WDIV harasses you with this app the notifications don’t stop and all I wanted was with notifications at first I was doing breaking news and top headlines. I would literally get a notification every 15 minutes. Then I switched to just the weathe

One thing that really makes me mad is pop up news stories that take over my screen even after I close the app. Sometimes they are still running in the background. I had earlier versions for years but this is so irritating I deleted the app
26. [R40] 1/5 · US How can you call this news?: Info is so old it's ridiculous. Local sports news in Detroit is never updated at all. Where's the Tigers games scores? Lots of repeated stories in the same category. Does anyone edit this app at all? Don't get me started on the spelling!

Ads before videos are one thing - I can control them by not opening the video link, but this stupid thing plays EVERY SINGLE TIME I open the app at all, and I’m done!

I always close the player-if I want to watch the news, I’ll watch live on my peacock account. If I’m listening to music, it forces stops it playing-even if I immediately close the player.
