Who it's for
ZipRecruiter is for job seekers who value a platform that can quickly connect them with potential employers and are willing to sift through irrelevant recommendations and technical issues R5R8R39. It may be less suitable for users who require precise search filters, robust account recovery options, or a bug-free experience R6R10R75.
Evidence note: The recent reviews skew significantly negative, which contrasts with the high lifetime rating. The themes of irrelevant recommendations and technical bugs are very prevalent and consistently reported across multiple reviews, indicating a recent decline in user experience. Positive reviews often focus on ease of use and success in finding jobs, but these are outnumbered by negative experiences in the recent sample.

- [R100] Options ore always there!: Options are always there is the many reasons I still job search three them good work guys!
- [R99] Searching for Job: I am searching for a job I spend 3 months in other platform like Lin. And in the last 3 months I don’t have any interest ok all the jobs are already 3,4 or 5 months old. En Zip in the last month I have 3 interviews already. Don’t waste your time. Coming and doing with Zip.
- [R111] AWESOME: Love ZIP so much better than the other search sites!!
- [R1] Awful: This app gives you recommendations that are completely irrelevant to your searches and will even recommend jobs one at a time and they will be jobs for places that are a 3 or 4 day drive from your location. It’s ridiculous.
- [R7] It’s annoying: I keep telling them I don’t have any CDL license but they still only giving me jobs that require a CDL
- [R13] Pointless: It continue sends me suggestions and notifications, even though I didn’t request them. In addition, none of these are relevant to any of my searches. It also sends me emails stating that a company is interested in me. When reaching out to the companies, they’re clueless about me.
- [R15] Location services suck: I have my location on allways allow all that jazz and all the jobs i gey are in kansas
- [R10] Can’t even open the app: Try to open the app but it won’t let me unless I get a update, go to App Store and no update okay I guess.
- [R14] Horrible: Will not load
- [R16] Not Working: Not working
- [R41] Terrible app: Worst job app on the internet. The app constantly gives error messages. You can never find a job with this app due to technical difficulties. You can’t even get a profile established. Terrible. Get another app. Keep away from this.
- [R20] Confused: Why is this app allowing postings of under minimum wage in California? It is at $16.90/hr now but I see jobs wanting to pay $11-$15/hr. What kind of slop does this app attract????? Be warned.
- [R40] DON’T use this app: Unless you like applying for ghost jobs and fake scam job don’t use this app. I got my personal Identity stolen using this app. I highly DO NOT recommend for your own safety.
- [R55] Nothing but fake listings: Fake listings, nothing is verified, posted in wrong location over and over nothing changes. Terrible app
- [R11] No External browser: There is no external browser. ZipRecruiter is so paranoid about you using other browsers that they force you to use theirs for their application. and no, you cannot copy and paste any link because it is disabled for some reason. Good luck with trying to open up new tabs or going back on your application. Want see the status of your application? Too bad. You better Google it an
- [R17] Bad: Can’t open links to separate browsers. Your browser sucks.
- [R27] Can’t mark jobs as applied: Doesn’t let you mark jobs as applied, so they just sit in your saved tab.
- [R32] Love the app: I love the app it’s so easy to use but what y’all should do is add a share option
- [R56] I have to sign in too often: Stop making me sign in so much on your app. It’s trash. I don’t want to open my email to sign in again today after already signing in today to read your dumb alerts. Make me sign in once a month and I’ll update to five stars. Until then, this build is trash. Don’t use the app. Only use the website on a desk top. Terrible experience.
- [R69] Constant emails: Every few hours I get an email suggesting a new job flooding my inbox. I have the notifications for “fresh jobs” and “great matches” turned off but still receive them. I still like the app and its contents but if this problem isnt fixed I will have to delete it
- [R74] It keeps kicking me out: Every time I open the app I have to sign in and then it kicks me out in the middle of a search! I can’t get through one job listing without it asking me to sign in again.
- [R84] Spam with low quality jobs: Constant emails with low paying job alerts unrelated to anything.
- [R18] Least favorite job board: Horrible at parsing resumes. This app is the least easy to use of all. I find many more interviews through indeed. It makes it difficult to send tailored resumes to each job. 1 tap apply is not helpful. The app is unresponsive and freezes often. The suggestions I receive via email are not relevant and not anywhere near the perimeters I’ve set in search. Not a good product
- [R53] Name glitch: Thought the system would be better than to chop up words & intfo from your resume & make you retype them manually. Backwards evolution.
- [R72] Manual entries: You have to enter all your work experience manually. Why can‘t they autofill from uploaded resume? Most websites can do that
- [R24] Remote jobs are not listed properly: Every post that says remote position is never a remote position. They use this tagline to get more interest on their job descriptions, but read the job description carefully because a lot of these are hybrid jobs. It’s a waste of time for people looking for a job. They are just muddying the waters and ZipRecruiter does not care.
- [R75] Search filters don’t filter.: Putting remote still shows on site only listings.
- [R79] You requested a review: -Please understand that I am only interested in jobs that have a minimum salary of $180,000 and hopefully more. Please don't send me anymore low-paying jobs as they are hogging-up my email space. I urge that you to understand that I APPRECIATE your services! -I am very interested in jobs that want me to be an independent contractor. Meaning, I don't want to work as a sal
- [R97] Job search: It is hard trying to find a job that fits what you are seeking when I tell you my preferences, I would hope you would only send me those. I am seeking part time and you keep sending me full time jobs. Please send me what my preferences are.
- [R6] Please Add SMS Verification: Overall, the app has been good, but I would like to suggest adding an alternative account recovery option. My brother lost access to the email linked to his account after Google disabled it, and because email is the only way to verify his identity, he can no longer access his ZipRecruiter account. His phone number is already connected to the account, so it would be ver
- [R114] No share option: I was searching jobs for my daughter and was trying to see how to send her a job posting or copy and paste the info. Most job posting services allow these features.
- [R156] Inconvenience: Why people can’t share the jobs anymore? It only have the option to report it
