Calculator for iPad!
Calculator for iPad! is a functional calculator app with useful features like calculation history and a scientific mode, but its user experience is severely hampered by intrusive ads and issues with screen resizing and button responsiveness, despite a generally positive lifetime rating.
Calculator for iPad! offers both basic and scientific calculator functions, along with a calculation history and note-taking features. However, recent user reviews frequently highlight significant problems with pervasive ads, poor screen scaling in split view, and unresponsive buttons, which detract from its otherwise appreciated functionality.

Who it's for
This app is for users who need a basic or scientific calculator on their iPad and value features like calculation history and note-taking R2R45R53R58. It might appeal to those who appreciate a 'real calculator' aesthetic R58. It is NOT for users who require an ad-free experience R5R6R11, need advanced scientific functions for algebra or statistics R22R125, or expect perfect screen scaling in split-screen mode R35R82.
Evidence note: The recent reviews skew heavily negative due to ads and UI issues, which contradicts the lifetime 4.69 rating. The lifetime rating likely reflects a period before the ad implementation or when the app was better maintained. The developer's notes mention only 'Bug Fixes' but do not address the widespread ad complaints or UI issues, suggesting these problems either persist or were introduced after the last update.

- [R53] Calculator: I like fact that transactions are shown on the screen. Seeing this history helps me solve some numerical puzzles.
- [R58] Awesome Calculator: This is a great calculator app for iPad! I just have the free version, but it does everything I need it to do! The log of calculations sure is handy, and I love how it looks like a real calculator in a leather case!
- [R3] Simple: Simple and easy to use. Thank you.
- [R23] Cool app: Super useful and very helpful and easy to use five stars
- [R33] Easy to use: All the quick functions you need.
- [R39] Awesome app!: Easy to use even a Neanderthal can do it.
- [R46] Way more better than the default one: I can see what I have typed before hitting the =. Compared to this, the default one made by Apple is basically unusable, yet they don’t bother to improve it.
- [R59] Very good: It's very convenient for checking typed numbers and keeping records. · translated
- [R38] If you like hitting buttons again and again: This calculator I used for awhile just because split screen worked with this app. However, I noticed I’m consistently hitting buttons over and over because it failed to detect. Found a better calculator app. Won’t be needing this no longer.
- [R65] The app Apple should have built: Great app. Works split screen. Looks sleek and professional - not like so many of the cheesy ones out there. Absolutely free if you want it to be and no annoying ads!!!
- [R5] ADS: STOP ADS
- [R6] Unusable with ad bar: I have been using this calculator for several years, and it was my favorite. However, recently there has been an ad bar across the bottom row of keys, and I can no longer use this calculator. I tried uninstalling it and re-installing it. At first the bar was gone, but the next time I went to use it, the ad bar was back, making it useless.
- [R11] Google Ads Turn Calculator Into Crapulator: It was fine until the google ads started getting slapped up over the keypad. But even if you delete the ad you’re left with a large box obscuring the keypad. It proudly says the ad was removed by google. Idiots!
- [R12] Ads: The google ads that pop are are way to close to the keypad and it’s very distracting.
- [R103] Not good: When I try to press the numbers they don’t appear you have to press the number you want several times I deleted app, not a good calculator.
- [R35] No rescaling: On ipad pro when the window is reduced, the buttons do not scale, therefore the calculator becomes unusable
- [R67] Missing part of image on purchased version of your calculator: I loved the free version of your calculator so much that I purchased the advanced one. I have a serious problem though. Only about 2/3 of the calculator shows on the screen in both portrait and landscape mode and the noted area doesn’t display at all. Help, please.
- [R82] Deficient: When using split view on ipad the calculator doesn’t resize and you can’t see half of the keys on the calculator keypad
- [R106] Not working properly: When I open small on side hide the half in bottom. I can’t see bottom row. Top is black. Need to update.
- [R47] WHY IS EVERY THING UPGRADED PAID: Like I get it but why every thing. I rlly wanted a pink background and marble so just let me watch I dmn ad or smth
- [R70] Too much premium!!!: Overall, okay app. But WAY too much premium.
- [R96] Calculator: This app is terrible.It doesn’t let you do anything.You have to pay.I hate it.👎🏻😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
- [R133] Horrible app: This app requires you to by the most important features
- [R22] Not helpful for my math: Scientific calculator not scientific enough for algebra I can’t input negatives
- [R25] The exponential notation is terrible faulty. It doesn’t work.: The exponential notation is terrible faulty. It doesn’t work.
- [R62] Close, but not adding up: The graphics are amazing as it has a real authentic look. I do also like the notes and log feature. However, on android phones and tablets their calculator app provides conversion of money, distance, time, etc inside the app itself. I would think that Apple would have that as well. Add that feature, and you have a winner.
- [R125] Not for stats, needs to be clear it’s a demo: The first issue with this “scientific” calculator is the same as with most calculators in the App Store claiming to be “scientific” and that’s it doesn’t include basic functions needed for statistics, such as Euler’s Constant, sigma notation, etc. This calculator is NOT a TI-36 substitute. I’m not saying they said it is, but calling it a “scientific”
- [R209] Good, but ..: Frustrating 3 second delay from pressing widget to being able to use calculator
- [R302] Slow to open on an old iPad mini: I still don't understand why we can't use the iPhone calc on an iPad. This is an OK alternative but if, like me, you usually open a calculator app repeating a couple of numbers in your head trying to remember them, it is very irritating waiting for the app to open - which can be very slow. I guess it's waiting for the ads to load which is what keeps it free I supp
- [R7] So dumb i hate it the reason I put this as five stars is so that it gets seen: YOU PAY $67 WHEN YOU GET IT AND CANT DO ANYTHING UNLESS YOU PAY 100 DOLLARS A MONTH IF YOU TRY TO DO SOMETHING IT GLITCHES -YOUR TRUSTED FRIEND, 67 KID
- [R92] Interface is too fancy.: I don’t know why am having such a difficult time finding a straightforward scientific-style calculator for which I can eliminate advertising for a moderate, flat fee without having to subscribe.
