What the developer says changed (the verdict above weighs this against what reviewers report):
Hey language lovers! Good news in every language: we've improved the app! Whether you say "better", "mejor", "migliore", or "meilleur"—it means the same thing: this update rocks! We've squashed some bugs and optimized performance so you can focus on breaking down language barriers, not app barriers. Keep translating, keep learning!

Who it's for
This app is for users who need basic, quick translations and are willing to tolerate potential inaccuracies or pay for a subscription to unlock full features R3R15R345. It might be suitable for language learners looking for a supplementary tool R10 or travelers for simple communication . It is NOT for users who require highly accurate, real-time, or dialect-specific translations R2R8R60, or those unwilling to pay for a subscription R18R56.
Evidence note: The recent reviews show a strong negative trend, particularly concerning accuracy, bugs, and monetization, which contrasts with the high lifetime rating. Many positive reviews are very generic ('Good', 'Great app') without specific details, while negative reviews are highly detailed about problems. The developer's notes mention 'bug squashing' and 'performance optimization,' but recent reviews directly contradict this, reporting numerous new and ongoing bugs and performance issues.

- [R1] Exact translation: I’m so happy with the translation.
- [R3] It’s decent: I think this app is very good at giving you languages at their basic level though it does struggle with words that even though they are from the language, they don’t translate it as they finish just a letter in the alphabet so go to app is good. there is some things that could be worked on like for example, when I try to translate the word on in French, it just gave me back on in Engl
- [R4] Works good: The only reason I got this app is because I’m trying to pick up on a Romanian girl
- [R10] Mrs:: Es excelente ayuda para mejorar mi segunda lengua "English" thank you.

- [R47] Great help: Learning Biblical Hebrew so hearing the words for pronunciation is awesome!
- [R50] Yes, Works well: Like the pronunciation feature
- [R8] wrong answer: Its totally wrong answer !
- [R15] it’s okay: it’s not very accurate honestly but it helps if i want to understand a language. good app overall. just needs some improvement with its accuracy.
- [R22] Trash: Trash translations.
- [R18] Costs more than Adobe: $520 a year? Are these people insane? Deleted.
- [R31] Does not work as advertised: Had a client come in today who speaks only Spanish. I thought this was going to be real-time translation but I still had to put in what she said manually and had to type out my English. The creators of this app need to learn how to make it user friendly to get to the real time translation stage because I did not get there and I’ve been tinkering around with the app. An
- [R345] Payment: Although it’s a really good app. After a few translations it says you have to pay for pro to continue. But the translation are sometimes legit. I know Korean and when I translated it, it looked legit to me.
- [R353] This app is amazing: As I said this app is amazing but u have to pay for the launguges which is not so great but overall it’s Amazing
- [R11] Terrible: It does not work
- [R20] Works great, sometimes crashes randomly: This tool has been essential in Brazil. I don’t speak Portuguese, but have a little bit of Spanish. This thing helped fill in the gaps very well. Seems accurate up to over 95%. Only critique is once in a while, the app crashes if it has been open too long or translates more than a couple dozen times. Otherwise, worth every penny.
- [R24] 😡😡😡: This app does not let me translate words
- [R39] was a great translator: I have had the paid version for a number of years and liked it very much but the last few months it will not translate my typed entries! I am seriously considering dropping the App completely as this makes it very one dimensional and definitely not worth the $59.99 I am paying for the subscription. When I try to get help it says it is not available.
- [R38] You are annoying me.: Even though I have rated you three times in a week and a half, you continually send me a barrage of requests for me to rate you. If you don’t leave me alone, I’m gonna give you one star. Knock it off already!
- [R70] Stop Asking Me To Rate Every 5 Minutes: This is for irking me…
- [R76] Stop asking me to rate the app: App works fine. Constant begging for a rating after I PAID for it earns it 1 star.
- [R108] Stop asking for a review!: App works fine, but it asks me for a review every time I logon, infuriating!
- [R2] No me gusto: La quiero es para traducir llamadas en inglés en tiempo real
- [R60] iTranslator is terrible at European Portuguese!: There are definitely better apps that translate European Portuguese 🇵🇹
- [R116] Language, no Khmer.: I’m a foreigner in Khmer and I Don’t see Khmer labeled on the languages, when I’m using the camera mode. Didn’t help.
- [R163] Translator: Has no Hawaiian
- [R56] Clickbait (not free): It is promoted as free of charge however it is not .. You hhave tu subscribe it
- [R81] Forced purchase: Cannot use and test without purchase.
- [R37] Itranslate: Inaccurate translation of the phrase "four score seven years ago...." From English into Spanish
- [R285] Clumsy and slow: Auto corrects in English when you are typing in another language. Very frustrating
- [R371] Can’t save translation images: Took out and dropped my subscription all within the hour when I found I couldn’t save translation images to camera roll. Other than that it looks to be a good App.
- [R404] Could be better: The option to translate a photo to text seems like it should be a standard feature, but it just does photos to speech (audio).
- [R410] Should have been a 5: I’ve been using this app for years and it’s always been pretty accurate. However, I’ve just installed it on my Apple Watch and I can’t change the language. According to the instructions on the app I need to press firmly, whatever that means, and then select my language. Makes no difference what I do, it’s stuck on Spanish which would be great if I wasn’t in France. Needs s
