Who it's for
Honeydue is for couples who need a free, shared platform to track expenses, manage bills, and gain financial transparency together R5R9R33. It is best suited for those who are patient with technical issues and do not rely on prompt customer support R6R11R26. It is not for users who require reliable bank syncing, accurate real-time transaction data, or responsive customer service R6R11R29. Users needing advanced features like custom categories, web access, or multi-user support beyond two people should also skip this app R18R51.
Evidence note: The recent reviews heavily skew negative, focusing on persistent technical issues and a complete lack of customer support. While some older reviews and the lifetime rating are positive, the current user experience appears to be significantly hampered by these problems. The developer's release notes for bug fixes related to bank account linking are directly contradicted by the volume of recent reviews still reporting these exact issues.

- [R1] Super helpful, could have a few fixes: This app has been super helpful for splitting expenses since my partner and I moved in together. One frustrating issue I have is I can’t figure out how to see what my total expenses have been for the month (aka my individual expenses + our split joint expenses). I can only see the total I have spent from my bank accounts (before splitting any expenses). Or th
- [R3] Excellent tool for finaces: Totally recommend anyone to keep track of finances
- [R5] Best couples finance app I've found: This app is the best for financial visibility among multiple accounts owned by different people. My only issue is that the app support has been nonexistent. I've emailed app support multiple times with questions and minor issues and haven't received a single response.
- [R9] Amazing free finance tracking for Couples: This app is amazing, simple, a little clunky but the value and tools it provides is the basis for being mindful about spending. Alerts aren’t as quick, transactions don’t update rapid fast. But it works well and the ability to comment and react to individual transactions makes a chore fun for both of us.
- [R31] The best for free ( I tried a lot of apps) this one is amazing!: I have testing several budget app and this one for free absolute best recommend
- [R52] Really like- could Love: I like this app but could use a few things and I would LOVE it. First though, the perks- it’s free and you don’t have to pay to sync your accounts like most other apps. Its fairly easy to use.. What I would consider: It often times changes things I already sorted. It would be nice to see a total budget and not have to keep filtering to only show me this month rather than
- [R67] Great with some potential improvements: Been really pleased with this app so far. I love that it’s so powerful while also being completely free. That being said, I’d love to see some more transaction and budget visualization especially for an entire year at a time.
- [R28] Love except two things: My husband and I love this app. Very straight forward, easy to customize and share, but two things. 1) Our daughter has one of our cards. We want to teach her how to budget, but we want to oversight. Please let us connect our account to more than one user name so she’s not seeing all our other finances but can her our card and her bank solely on her view. 2) occasionall
- [R33] User friendly: Very easy to use and customize. This is great solution especially if couples are not on the same account but want to share a budget
- [R39] Great and easy: This app is exactly what you need to see where your money goes and what you are spending on. Thank you
- [R50] Mr. Organizer, Awesome App.: Thank you to whom ever invented this app. Keeps me on point
- [R34] Very useful!: So far so good! Pretty easy to use and functional for my husband and I… I can manually add accounts (I don’t like linking bank accounts) and I’m super happy they have that option!
- [R6] Constant Bank Sync Issues: This app would be great if the connection to the bank didn’t fail every few days. You constantly need to check if your accounts are synced. If it breaks, sometime the re-sync option works. Other times you need to reconnect from scratch, which is also hit or miss. None of these options are explained anywhere so figuring out where to look and which wires to jiggle is a pai
- [R7] Always loses sync: Awful finance app. Only maintain sync with accounts for a week or two and then refuses to update. Truly useless, do not download.
- [R11] No support: I really liked this app and used it all the time but it suddenly stopped being able to refresh my account a month ago. I tried emailing support twice and got no reply. I’ll update my review if they ever end up fixing it! (Update: still no reply. Do not trust this app with your bank details because clearly they do not care. Deleting this app now .)
- [R16] Poor integration quality: constant desync friction: The app crates a lot of friction due to banks constantly getting desynchronized with useless message “email us” appearing (I tried to email - no response), you have to remove affected banks every month or so and add them back, resetting all tx retagging you have done
- [R10] Too many glitches: When splitting categories it keeps reverting back to original category. Can’t edit comments. Customer service doesn’t respond to emails for help.
- [R14] Good app but…: If you can get your bank connected it’s good. Don’t even try to email or reach out to customer support. They’re not there and won’t reply to anything. Budgeting, transactions, and categorization is really good. This app is superior to many others I’ve tried since mint went out the door but they don’t update or fix bugs and no customer service.
- [R13] Broken & Missing Transactions: Honeydue is nice for couples who have different operating systems (iPhone vs Android). However, this application has always been buggy and very rigid. Most recently, I have not been able to view my September 2025 and November 2025 Transactions. I click on the month and the app displays Oct or Dec ‘25. Because of this I missed large purchases that should have been spl
- [R20] The bank balance are always wrong: Even after refreshing still shows the wrong number
- [R29] Transaction data issues and no response from support: I’ve experienced consistent issues with the data not updating for a few days and some transactions missing. Also I’ve reached out several times over the past 2 weeks and have never got a response. Issues ongoing with an account haven’t refreshed in 2 months despite multiple emails.
- [R44] Wish it were better: Updates when it wants to and not daily, can’t make it refresh and update new data, data goes missing randomly where it all Of a sudden will appear differently than it had a few minutes before and there is no way to push a refresh. Can’t make certain entries be hidden from budget as in other apps and wish you could apply entries in a month to another month.
- [R35] Nice concept, questionable execution: The concept for this app is solid. However, no matter how many consecutive months you move your phone bill from 'groceries' to 'utilities', it never learns and keeps miss-sorting which is annoying when 90% of your transactions are the same 30 businesses like the same exact grocery store and same exact gas station. Also it seems like they tried to make the sort
- [R43] Barely Sufficient: Chose HoneyDue because of the ability to combine financial accounts with my partner into one app. The app has much to be desired. The auto-categorization is terrible, reports are basic, there is no month over month or Trent view. No way to export for deeper analysis in other apps. It’s not very smart overall which requires you to make a lot of manual updates. Wish there was a be
- [R46] Useful, buuut…: Overall, love the utility of this app. However: I’m running into an issue where the notes I’m writing regarding certain expenses are disappearing. Like, they’ll be there today, but then tomorrow they’re gone. What am I doing wrong/what’s going on?
- [R18] No Browser: I like the app and idea of having a pkaces to text each other about bills so its all in one place but really wish you can access it on a computer. Which would be great when doing initial setup or working on categories etc… but until that happensI will have to continue using rocketmoney.
- [R21] Export: Would like to be to export so we could do comparisons in a spreadsheet for year-to-year comparisons. Love the program - we can work on household bills together.
- [R24] Keep up the good work!: Enjoy working with this app and sharing with spouse. Would like to see this in Microsoft App Store and Mac as well.
- [R4] No division: Apparently, if you break up with your significant other, the app has no way to separate you, and they could easily have access to view your bills unless you manually change it for each bill. Even when I asked for assistance, they said it’s not possible to separate that other person from the account.
- [R30] Suggestion: I have used this app for a few years. There should be a way to update the amount of a bill going forward versus all the historic amounts. This does not show a true past budget. Also, the only way to end a bill is to delete it. Once again, that skews historic budgets. If you would make these changes on a future update, I feel like it would be helpful to everyone that uses the app.
- [R146] It’s ok: I think it’s great that they’re pioneering the system where couples are able to manage their money together. I think the software could be a lot more intuitive and do a better job with the bill tracker instead of showing all the bills that I’ve already been marked paid clearing those out-of-the-way so that you can focus on the ones that have yet to be paid.
- [R2] Bilt: Will Bilt ever be added to plaid on your system??
- [R12] So easy: My husband and I have used this for years and genuinely love using it.
- [R17] Poor Customer Service: The app seems great, but I can’t use it properly. Every time I try to link my bank account, an error message pops up and tells me to email support. I’ve emailed them twice with no response. My only remaining option is to delete this app and find something different.
- [R26] Abandoned: Good luck if anything goes wrong. No one answers their support emails. It’s just a black hole.
- [R84] Useful but I have feature requests!: Feature requests: - Ability to export data - Web UI - Custom spending categories Well done: - Surprisingly, notifications (I normally hate notifications and turn them off, but these remind me of ongoing major expenses and help me maintain the data)
- [R98] LOVE IT!: Ive been using these apps for years. And I love it. It helpful and easy to use. I wish they have a feature where I can move all transaction to one category at the same time and for future transaction. Would live to have desktop version. I love this app!
- [R51] No custom categories: I love this app but I would be great if the developers would to add custom categories.
- [R69] Good but needs improvements: Im a former mint user. Honeydue has a lot of great features and is fairly straightforward and easy to use. The color tracking and icon is nice. Needs improvement in following areas: ability split a transaction between categories, apply similar transactions to same category feature doesn’t work consistently.
- [R76] Works well enough: I’ve used this app for almost a month to track finances for my fiancé and I. Features I like: - Custom categories and Spending amounts - Easy Navigation - Bill reminders - Budget reminders Features that could use improving: - The auto categorizing feature, a lot of times it right but I do frequently still have to fix it. Even worse is I will fix it and I’ll go back in a coup
- [R236] Allow customized categories!!: A restaurant and grocery store are very different than just “food and drink” Our restaurant budget is a lot different than our grocery budget. Once we can customize the categories this app will be perfect!
