You take part in festivals however if another team in the group you’re in has been purchasing in game stuff, theres almost no chance you will get ahead of them which is just really unfair. A lot of festival tasks are way out of scope until you buy packages, cards, gifts and so on.

For example my township went up a league and the rewards I should have just completely disappeared. When I gain extra diamonds they don’t show up. It's very annoying and it's too much and I have noticed that when multiple costumers have the special orders and they all have the same orders it's never different and when it's all the same then I have too use the same spices
