TimeTree vs Calendar
TimeTree is the better choice for users prioritizing shared calendar functionality and cross-platform compatibility, despite its intrusive ads, while Apple Calendar is suitable for those deeply embedded in the Apple ecosystem who need basic, integrated scheduling.
TimeTree excels as a shared calendar, offering robust features for families and couples across different devices, though its free version is marred by frequent, large ads. Apple Calendar provides seamless integration for Apple users, but struggles with reliability, customization, and advanced sharing features.
Head to head
You need a robust shared calendar for family or couples, require cross-platform compatibility (Apple and Android), and are willing to tolerate ads in the free version or pay for a premium subscription R5R11R17.
You are deeply integrated into the Apple ecosystem, need a basic, free calendar that syncs across your Apple devices, and prioritize system integration over advanced features or extensive customization .
Evidence note: The evidence for Apple Calendar's 'Price & Value' is thin, as it's a built-in, free app. The comparison relies on the absence of pricing complaints and a single review mentioning other free apps being better.

- [R11] TimeTree Wife-hub: I love this app very convenient and always recommend to my couples friends! I have Apple and hubs has android and this is so great for me keeping track of everything with our toddler and families. Allows him to see and edit also! You can add notes or locations for events and I’m a visual person so I color code certain things like Dr apt.
- [R18] TimeTree Easy to use!: I’d like to see more themes and stickers especially for holiday’s
- [R21] TimeTree bad new update: i enjoy this app a lot but the new update is just not it. i don't like the minimalist stuff and also did they get rid of memos??? what are we doing here.
- [R24] TimeTree Js a friend: Me and my friends love this but it would be super cool if we could comment on the pictures
- [R2] TimeTree Night shift: Ok love this app but it’s hard to set a night shift schedule when I work go into work at 11:30 pm on say a Monday and get off work at 7:30am on the following Tuesday
- [R6] TimeTree Great Calendar for Fam, Obnoxious ads…: Pros: Great planner for keeping up to date with family. Convenient and easy to use. Easy to navigate and set up. Cons: Too many ads, many large and invasive. Ads take up 1/3 the screen. Gambling and casino ads. :( Recommendation: Make small banner ads at the bottom. Ads make the app look low quality and shady.
- [R8] TimeTree Wonderful: Great place for all the important stuff, easy to use and free!!
- [R10] TimeTree Not enjoying the premium experience: It is very difficult to move from week to day view. You are unable to click on a day to make it expand or using a pinch motion function on the screen to zoom in and out. Most of the functions feel hidden, like importing external calendar info, which must be done every time I update my external calendar. The support function doesn’t work without images and there
- [R3] TimeTree Good product: Overall good product. It’s only screwed me one time when I put in a doctors appointment for 8:30 AM and when it was saved and you go out of the appointment, it showed 9:30 AM could not fix that event. Had to delete it and redo it but I didn’t notice that until after I missed my appointment.
- [R9] TimeTree Doesn’t work properly on Iphone: It works very slow on iphones
- [R12] TimeTree Glirch or something: I had used this app for probably about 5 years. had all my plans and work schedule in it. and it deleted everything. I dont even understand how that is possible. but everything is gone and im very angry and frustrated. It was a good app but I guess like any app don't become reliable on it because it can fail you at any moment. I hadn't been on a guest account either, I was lo
- [R28] TimeTree I did love this app: In the last month it’s started glitching on me like crazy. It’s bad enough you’re trying to making people pay a premium mode for a damn calendar but now you’re messing the code up and I can’t see my events. I’m ready to leave
- [R5] TimeTree I love it: Me an my significant other have been looking for a calendar to share and this works great for us !
- [R17] TimeTree Perfect for personal and communal use.: I got this app in hopes of sharing my schedule with my girlfriend and keeping track of it myself. It is a godsend. There is no paywall so everything is accessible for free except non-essential decorations. I can see and interact with anyone on my calendar and add a multitude of useful information and visual. Best calendar app I’ve used.
- [R1] TimeTree 100% NOT worth it: Why can’t I export this calendar to something like Google Calendar?? I’m forced to use this one now. The ads at the top make the overall calendar hideous. Money hungry app that forces you to pay if you don’t want to see ads. Please just use Google calendar or Apple calendar.
- [R4] TimeTree ads: too many ads, very annoying. other than that works well.
- [R7] TimeTree Used to be good: Greed has completely overtaken TimeTree. It used to be a good shared calendar with non invasive ads. Now they have pop ups take up the entire screen that you have to X out. Find a different calendar. I know I am now.
- [R25] TimeTree Lack of Export Ability: It’s a fine calendar for keeping up with family events and the color system does help. The reason I gave it one star is because it does not have the ability to export into my work calendar. I’m having to switch back-and-forth between calendars to determine if I can take a meeting or not. Fix this and it would be a good app.
- [R61] Calendar Frustrating: All my events are gone, and are no where to be found. Incredibly frustrating
- [R64] Calendar Whyyyy: Why whole calendar keeps getting deleted I feel like every other week…
- [R70] Calendar Disappear: I used to like this calendar. Not anymore. I constantly lose my past schedules. It is July 2026 and June 2026 is gone. I schedule reminders for Birthday’s. They never happen.
- [R82] Calendar Where’s my stuff?: Out of nowhere every single work entry I’ve ever made just disappeared. Why?
- [R63] Calendar I’d like a refund: I like this app, I use it for everything. I would like more access to change things; example: how are Jewish and Islamic holidays considered “U.S. Holiday” ( which is not true) and I can’t remove the holiday so it’s not in my calendar reminder
- [R66] Calendar Optional Holidays: Apple, please make it possible to filter different holidays. We don’t all want to see Christian, Jewish, and Islamic holidays wholesale or none at all. Please add filters!
- [R71] Calendar Adequate: I don't really use it in Apple's native environment; it syncs to another productivity app. It would be nice on the birthday calendar, which is read only, if I could at least change the color to something more appealing than grey.
- [R72] Calendar Feedback: Yo can we get holiday explaination at least if it's national or no. Please, thanks!!!
