MacroPoint For Truckers vs TruckMap
MacroPoint For Truckers is better for brokers and companies needing load tracking, while TruckMap is a more suitable, albeit imperfect, navigation tool for individual drivers.
MacroPoint For Truckers excels at providing tracking for brokers but faces strong driver resistance due to privacy concerns and battery drain. TruckMap offers free truck-specific navigation, but users report significant issues with routing accuracy, lag, and reliability.
Head to head
You are a broker or company that needs to track loads and require drivers to use a specific tracking app, accepting that drivers may dislike it R5.
You are an individual truck driver looking for a free GPS navigation app specifically designed for trucks, and you are willing to cross-reference with other maps due to its reliability issues .
Evidence note: MacroPoint's reviews are heavily skewed by drivers who are often mandated to use the app by brokers, leading to strong negative sentiment regarding privacy and battery drain, even when the tracking functionality itself is reported to work R5R10R19R21. TruckMap's reviews, while also mixed, focus more on its core navigation performance as a choice made by the driver. The free nature of both apps means that some negative feedback for both might stem from expectations for a free product.

- [R4] MacroPoint For Truckers Tracking: My loads are not appearing
- [R5] MacroPoint For Truckers Great App, Too Much Tracking: The app works well and does what it’s supposed to do. It’s easy to use and reliable. My only concern is the amount of driver tracking. As drivers, we’re already getting multiple calls and update the brokers throughout the day, so the extra tracking can feel unnecessary and excessive. Other than that, it’s a solid app.
- [R6] MacroPoint For Truckers No loads: I need to work like everyone else please help me out
- [R8] MacroPoint For Truckers Chofer: Fácil de usar
- [R3] MacroPoint For Truckers bad app: never load right. bed tracking’s always having
- [R12] MacroPoint For Truckers My opinion: Only works half the time
- [R14] MacroPoint For Truckers tracking all the time: UPDATE. TRACKS YOU SEVERAL DAYS AFTER IT SAY "Tracking stop" . SO SEVERAL UPDATES LATER STILL THE SAME. EXCEPT NOW IS AI CALLING YOU FROM MACROPOINT. SO MUCH FOR REDUCED CALLS. THE REST IS SAME. when You deliver load it supposed to stop, but in small letters is that it might continue tracking after You are done for up to 3 days. in reality as long as the app is on Your phone
- [R15] MacroPoint For Truckers Not sure: Seems to work OK while you have a load but I’ve delivered loads to three weeks ago that are still hanging around on there. They obviously don’t care to clear them out once they’re done they do not need to be hanging around.
- [R10] MacroPoint For Truckers Spyware: It’s just spyware,
- [R13] MacroPoint For Truckers Battery sucking app: Normally I can go all day on my phone but when the tracking is enabled , it drains my battery in 8 hours
- [R17] MacroPoint For Truckers No cheap load: Where is the money
- [R19] MacroPoint For Truckers Tracking is stupid: If a broker wants to track a load, they can do so with a dedicated, stand alone device. There is no reason they need to track a driver through their personal cell phone
- [R21] MacroPoint For Truckers Fake reviews: No trucker in their right mind would be ok with having tracking software on their personal devices. If brokers want to track their loads then provide YOUR OWN tracking devices - you don’t get to charge a fee to companies for not allowing and compromising our privacy. This should be illegal and politicians have failed us for not keeping brokers in check. This app is full of fake revie
- [R33] MacroPoint For Truckers TruckDriver: Hey DRIVERS!!! Pay Attention to When ya complete a load even after using mark load complete tab and submitting, Had a load completed on a tuesday morning that kept tracking thru the weekend. Caught it 8 days later still tracking and New Load NOT Appearing. Something is VERY wrong either this app or theiving Brokers that Use it?

- [R66] TruckMap Lags when on phone calls: I use this app for years and now when I’m on the phone and running this app it freezes. I miss turns and warehouses because it crashes. Please fix
- [R73] TruckMap Terrible: We use this app to go from Florida, Florida to West Virginia, Virginia. We were hauling a 30 foot camper. We use the app because we believed it would keep us away from roads that would be dangerous or not appropriate to drive on. Instead, it put us on roads that were highly dangerous and had warnings that large truck should not use. Terrible App! Do not use!
- [R78] TruckMap Not completely reliable: I tested this app to see if it would direct me around a low clearance bridge in my area. Unfortunately, with a clearance on my truck at 13’ 5” it sent me under the bridge that has a clearance of 12’ 11”. I’m very disappointed. I did report the low bridge in hopes that they will at least fix that one. - I enabled a dedicated phone number for this app. I have received ma
- [R81] TruckMap Crashes hard!: Good app but when it crashes it takes forever to reboot. Unsafe kind of.
