Color Block vs Block Out!
For a more relaxing, untimed block puzzle experience, Block Out! is the better choice, despite its own monetization issues, while Color Block struggles with overwhelming ads and stability.
Color Block and Block Out! both offer block puzzle gameplay, but diverge significantly in user experience. Color Block is plagued by excessive ads, stability issues, and accusations of being a copycat, while Block Out! provides an ad-free experience for many but introduces frustrating timers and pay-to-win mechanics at higher levels.
Head to head
Pick Color Block if you are looking for a basic block puzzle game and are willing to tolerate a high volume of ads, or if you are specifically looking for a game similar to 'Block Blast' R2R6.
Pick Block Out! if you prefer a block puzzle game with no ads for at least the initial levels and enjoy a timed challenge, even if it might require in-app purchases for later progression .
Evidence note: Many reviews for Color Block are critical of its ad frequency and stability, with some 5-star reviews explicitly stating they rated it high only for visibility to warn others R5. This skews the lifetime rating higher than recent sentiment. For Block Out!, while many praise the lack of ads, a significant number of recent reviews contradict this, indicating ads may have been introduced or increased for some users .

- [R2] Color Block Lots of fun: It may be the same thing as Block Blast (and is most likely a copy) but it’s very well done. Plus it’s nice for if you need to get around age restrictions for the original.
- [R4] Color Block Not good: It’s copying block blast and is not challenging not that fun don’t recommend
- [R6] Color Block Color block: So… just get block blast! This game is fine but it’s lowkey a knockoff! And some of the game is weird and want to be able to track my score like in real block blast. I won’t delete this but…. I like block blast better!
- [R8] Color Block Fun: Fun, but kinda boring after a while
- [R1] Color Block Color Block: When I can play the game, it’s great but then up pop the same ads as Block Tok and I can’t make them go away - especially the ads for upgrading the game. Very frustrating. I shut off my computer to get rid of them or I leave the game and find a game more user friendly.
- [R3] Color Block Really bad: Too many adds knock off of block blast and it isn’t fun Do not download if you are board and developers fix this please and quickly or I will delete the app thank you but otherwise a great game
- [R5] Color Block I voted this 5 stars so you'd see it: All of these reviews are quite frankly speaking lies saying it's a Good game . It lowkey has way too many ads it's lowkey that kids who are saying block blast is 18+ bc block blast is 13+ and way better bc it acc updates this fake copy is unoriginal and doesn't update. And the game is rlly slow don't even get me started and they say they update to fix bugs but
- [R12] Color Block Adds: Too Many adds but it’s fun. Done
- [R13] Color Block Fun but…: It cannot be deleted from an IPhone once it’s installed. It looks uninstalled but it’s sucking your data sitting in your system & hidden data.
- [R19] Color Block App Crashes: Since the latest update, I can no longer play the game in classic mode. After placing two pieces, the game crashes each time I try to place a third. I tried to go to app support but didn’t see contact info.
- [R22] Color Block Gross: Opens and closes tabs and windows. Disgusting. Even when I lock my phone.
- [R7] Color Block False advertising: Like all the developers are doing now, this game does not play as advertised. Don’t bother getting it. I’m deleting it right away.
- [R10] Color Block I paid for no ads, now they are back: I love this game, I find it very relaxing. The reason I went with this version is because it seems to be the only one that offers an option to pay for no ads. However, with the latest update, suddenly I have ads again and I’m not able to restore my purchase. Trying to figure out how to contact the developer.
- [R96] Block Out! horrible: worst game i have ever played, i get that they are trying to make it challenging and fun but it is not it i horrible it gives you 1 minute to solve it and even on the very hard levels. And it is way to impossible to solve in a minute, so dev responsers pls read my review. At least do an update were it gives you 2 minutes to slove the problem’s. PLS! Anyway besides all that it is a good g
- [R25] Color Block Deleted: Because of to many full screen ads
- [R28] Color Block Ruined by ads: Fun is game but the ads are relentless and don’t let you close to continue, and for that I’m out!!!
- [R58] Color Block No ads: So I paid to upgrade so I would no longer see ads, and love the game. Unfortunately I continue to get ads. Do not buy the upgrade!!
- [R61] Block Out! Was Fun - but impossible at higher levels: This game was fun, but nearly impossible to beat on a timer, even using coins to continue play, which are way, way, way too high a cost to continue.
- [R64] Block Out! Not good: It’s impossible to pass a level without paying extra for more time even simple levels
