Head to head
you prioritize a clean, ad-free interface with excellent live activity updates and a simple focus on scores, and don't mind a more limited selection of sports or detailed stats R2R11R17.
you need comprehensive sports news, articles, and a wider range of content beyond just scores, and are willing to tolerate a more cluttered interface, frequent review prompts, and potentially less reliable live updates R76.
Evidence note: Recent reviews for CBS Sports heavily skew negative due to interface changes and persistent review prompts, which may not fully reflect its lifetime rating. Apple Sports, being newer, has a more consistent review sentiment, though many negative reviews focus on missing features rather than core functionality.

- [R2] Apple Sports Unbelievably Good: Apple really killed this. No ads, no news pushing like ESPN or other apps like Bleacher Report, and the live events are awesome. My one gripe is that it needs more sports! I would love a college baseball section. Great design work as well: the app is very pretty to look at, while also being easy to read quickly to get a sense of what’s going on.
- [R3] Apple Sports Variedad: En Ecuador falta agregar el torneo Copa Ecuador y para interés de toda Sudamérica falta agregar Copa Libertadores y Copa Sudamericana
- [R4] Apple Sports Doesn’t have All info: 365Scores & FotMob are way better and provide more information. btw, it is FOOTBALL not Soccer
- [R6] Apple Sports Decent App: Needs pro cycling.
- [R8] Apple Sports Best so far on iOS!: Great organizer for men and woman sports leads you to the actual game and stats and video and overall really amazing. 10/10. Would recommend to download. Doesn’t take so much storage too.
- [R10] Apple Sports Needs an iPad friendly version: Just like it says.
- [R11] Apple Sports Simple and almost perfect: Please add Cycling such as the Tour de France. Otherwise great interface with littte distraction. Does what it needs to do without being bloated.
- [R1] Apple Sports Can’t follow upcoming games?: When I see an upcoming game that I want live activities for, I click “Follow” for that game, but then nothing ever pops up on my screen when the game starts. I go back into the app, and the game isn’t being followed anymore. It seems I can only get live activities for games if I start following them AFTER the game has already started. What is the point of that? Ever
- [R12] Apple Sports Technical problem: There is sometimes in the application when entering the quilifiers a sudden exit, please solve it
- [R13] Apple Sports Worthless: How does this app just decide I'm no longer going to see upcoming matches for random leagues/teams? I thought it was weird that after yesterday's world cup games there were none today. I checked again this morning just to make sure and there were no FIFA games, only baseball. Well imagine my surprise when I'm watching YouTube and there are highlights for two games they already happened
- [R17] Apple Sports Almost Perfect: Love this app. It’s beautiful, and works all the time. Best live activities available in sports. If they can just add the option to see a team’s schedule and previous scores this will be a 5 star review and a perfect app.
- [R7] Apple Sports Surprisingly bad: Apple can’t make an app that works and if they do, it’s to line their pockets with more greed! The bet zone in app is a sure sign. Junk app
- [R22] Apple Sports Disappointed: Such a well designed app, very disappointing to see the “draft kings” odds on the games. Apple is basically co-signing the equivalent of a cigarette company
- [R25] Apple Sports MMA???: Easy to use with no ads or annoying loudmouthed pundits or forums. But why no UFC or MMA???
- [R15] Apple Sports Needs some work: I think this really needs some additional info to be a one stop shop. It should be easy to see standings, player info, and schedules.
- [R24] Apple Sports Stats: I wish that there was was a spot to look at players stats but it is an awesome app
- [R44] Apple Sports Amazing design just not enough features: It is missing features that the ESPN app has, but it is designed so well and is free
- [R76] CBS Sports New update: This was my favorite sports app, and the only one i would use, until about two weeks ago when they updated it and now it’s just all videos. They used to have headlines which you would click on and read the story and they got rid of that.
- [R18] Apple Sports World Cup: I've really enjoyed using Apple Sports. The Live Activities on the Dynamic Island are excellent, and the real-time updates are fast and reliable. One suggestion for improvement concerns the FIFA World Cup. Unlike most leagues, where fans mainly follow one team, the World Cup is a global event that many people want to follow as a whole. It would be great to be able to follow the entire
- [R28] Apple Sports Not support ipad: Not support ipad,So ****
- [R56] Apple Sports Good: Simple interface that do one thing good “display the score” which is all that matter. No iPad version though
- [R104] CBS Sports Widget gone: After updating to iOS 18 the score widget is gone. Please bring it back
