Myngly vs Fishbowl
Myngly is the clear winner for local, event-based professional networking, offering a user-friendly and effective platform, while Fishbowl struggles with significant technical issues and moderation problems.
Myngly excels as a highly-rated, user-friendly networking app focused on local, in-person events, particularly in Texas. Fishbowl, despite a larger user base, is plagued by severe bugs, poor moderation, and unresponsive customer support, making it unreliable for many users.
Head to head
You are a professional in Texas looking for a highly effective, local, and event-focused networking tool with a strong community and responsive support R1R4R5R8. You value a user-friendly interface and purposeful connections over broad, anonymous discussions R9R24.
You are looking for a platform for anonymous professional discussions across a wide range of industries and are willing to tolerate significant technical issues, poor moderation, and non-existent customer support R67R84. You prioritize the potential for insider information and salary insights, despite the risks of arbitrary bans or data concerns R85.
Evidence note: Myngly has a much smaller number of reviews, but they are overwhelmingly positive and consistent. Fishbowl has a very large number of reviews, but a significant portion of recent reviews highlight severe, recurring technical problems and lack of support, which heavily impacts its overall score despite some positive feedback on its core concept.

- [R39] Myngly Great tool!: Been riding the Myngly journey for the last 3 yrs and it just continues to improve.
- [R67] Fishbowl Broken App: This app constantly has server issues so you can’t update your industry. Can’t update your email or can’t update your description either you can try to update it 4, 5+ or more times it just won’t stick the app and their servers don’t work.
- [R96] Fishbowl Good concept. super buggy as of late: I am constantly booted from bowls within my own company to the point where it is becoming less if a point to use the app.
- [R21] Myngly Amazing App: User friendly and great customer service
- [R32] Myngly Founder: Myngly is awesome! Especially for being so early in their product journey. In less then 48 hours of downloading Myngly, a local investor connected with me and scheduled time to meet with my client. And a local CEO booked time with me for consulting services. Sara and the Myngly team are great and very responsive. Thanks team!
- [R42] Myngly Great Networking Tool: Myngly is a useful networking platform for reaching out to workers in your area and fields of study. The founder is actively involved in helping all sorts of users connect with mentors, mentees, and opportunities for networking. It’s a distinct and simple platform for those looking to build connections and their network. Highly recommend!
- [R100] Fishbowl The app is broken: Something is wrong with the app. I am now unable to make new posts or respond to new posts. But far more troubling is that there is no one working for the app who will respond anymore to any messages. This is my last attempt to see if they will respond before I delete the app.
- [R1] Myngly Texas only: You have to apply; without a disclaimer, they only accept TX residents. This gated UX and exclusivity needs major reworking. Don't waste your time, folks.
- [R2] Myngly Amazing connecting professionals: Love the app. And also love their events.
- [R5] Myngly Myngly is the way to Network: I use Myngly as an event organizer because of the Quality of Professionals on the Network, I use it to promote and market the Oil Gas Global Network monthly mixers and National Business Expo, Houston Business Expo, Austin Business Expo, San Antonio Business Expo, Dallas Business Expo, and Bryan College Station Business Expo You can find more information about NBE at:
- [R12] Myngly Marcela Ronquillo: Best networking app congratulations for this amazing global innovation!
- [R19] Myngly Amazing: Great app to connect to your local community! Best way to connect to young professionals building their careers 🙌
- [R66] Fishbowl I wish I could give 5 stars: But Fishbowl (like Glassdoor) is still bowing to the company demands to “curate” messages. You want 5 stars? Show users why they should trust the hard messages they have the courage to share aren’t erased by corporate interests.
- [R70] Fishbowl Copywriter: Been closed out twice for comments that were not offensive or out of bounds at all. Seems arbitrary. Bit lame. Only use for job search stuff now and barely contribute original posts bc of the grandmas reporting comments for no reason.
- [R84] Fishbowl Great app but a TON of snowflakes who report everything: Title says it all. No vetting on why people report you - you just get suspended if you have more than like 4 violations. You can get reported for saying anything that is right of center in the politics bowl or anything critical of COVID policies. Outside of this - it’s awesome. They need to come up with a support team to review the repor
- [R85] Fishbowl They’ll Protect Big Companies.: I was banned from this app for leaving truthful reviews about my company. They sided with the leaders of my company who reported my very plain and matter-of-fact posts and replies as ‘vulgar and offensive’. This IS NOT an app that fosters open conversation, it’s a tool for companies to control their own external optics.
- [R102] Fishbowl No support response - app unusable: App broke - now just says to try again later when trying to post/comment (on latest version). I’ve reached out twice for help/resolution and didn’t even get an acknowledgement. App is now unusable, with no explanation or help fixing it
- [R112] Fishbowl Zero Support / Response: Can’t get support to verify title and restore access to private bowl. Have sent multiple Emails.
- [R114] Fishbowl Kicked out of my work bowl: I was kicked out of my law firm’s bowl and cannot get back in. Was not given a reason. Sent emails to fishbowl which were ignored. App lacks support/customer service.
