MiLB vs MLB
Choose MiLB if you primarily want to follow minor league baseball, but be prepared for significant app functionality issues, especially with tickets and streaming; choose MLB if you want comprehensive major league coverage, but be aware of widespread complaints about blackouts and login problems.
Both MiLB and MLB apps struggle with core functionalities like ticket access and reliable streaming, leading to user frustration despite their high lifetime ratings. MiLB users praise its coverage of minor league teams but frequently encounter login, ticket, and streaming glitches, while MLB users are largely satisfied with content but are consistently angered by blackouts and persistent login issues.
Head to head
You are primarily interested in following minor league baseball, especially specific teams or prospects, and are willing to tolerate significant app issues with tickets, streaming, and login R2R5.
You want comprehensive coverage of Major League Baseball, including stats and game highlights, and are prepared to deal with frequent blackouts, login problems, and potential casting difficulties .
Evidence note: Both apps have high lifetime ratings, but recent reviews, particularly for MiLB, skew heavily negative, indicating a decline in user experience. - [R2] MiLB Nice, game: I love to see these young guys trying so hard. They have a dream. Luis Lara just went to the majors. He did good.
- [R5] MiLB 😄👍: Greenjackets.i can’t see them anywhere else
- [R8] MiLB Dark Mode option + Apple TV App: Please allow a Dark Mode option. The white background hurts my eyes. Also please make a stand alone MILB Apple TV app. That would be awesome.
- [R9] MiLB Not as good as MLB app: The app is decent but it has flaws and is missing some important functionality. The biggest problem is that the playback of games stops if you close the app. There is no minimized window for the video so you have to stay in the app. The app is also missing the “hide scores” setting toggle that the MLB app has. Finally, there is no archived audio and live video is limited to
- [R1] MiLB Can’t get my season tickets: On our way to the game and now the app keeps saying something went wrong so we won’t have our season tickets
- [R4] MiLB A complete dumpster fire: EDIT: Given the dozens of recent one-star reviews citing the same problem, I see that my experience IS typical. The latest update to the app was four days ago. Why release anything else when this core functionality is so broken? I’m irate now, but I would have gone nuclear if I waited until I got to the ballpark tonight and encountered this steaming pile of an app. PLEASE
- [R7] MiLB Can't Sign In: Continually unable to authenticate my account information, requiring me to create a new password every time I try to login.
- [R10] MiLB Unable to print tickets on ipad: Tried to print tickets cannot see full screen and not able to continue to print tickets cannot
- [R13] MiLB Terrible interface: The system is co fused with MLB and I can never access my tickets this way. Almost not worth going.
- [R23] MiLB Apple TV: Please make an Apple TV app. I can’t get the games to airplay to my Apple TV or Samsung TV
- [R24] MiLB Great minor league app but needs a lot of work: Can we get an AppleTv app already! 1. Landscape support for the app for iPad. 2. Quad screen or at least PIP for games for iPad.
- [R86] MLB Ability to hook up to TV to broadcast games on bigger devices: I would like the ability to broadcast from my phone to a TV that I’m in the same room with. Example motel rooms my downstairs TV. My office TV I would be able to watch more games in more locations Please contact me if you have any questions
- [R90] MLB Mediocre: The app works well unless you want to cast to a TV or a ven through a smart TV app. Part of the time it won’t automatically go to the live feed and it also won’t cast right away. It takes a long time to load and at time won’t ever load so I’m forced to watch it on my phone or laptop instead of in a big tv.
- [R66] MLB Random blacksouts!: Great viewing. However when you pay for all the games you should get all the games.
- [R67] MLB Waste of money: $80 bucks just to watch one team. Weekly blackouts with games on other streaming services. Vizio TV’s don’t have or won’t allow the app, so if I try to mirror my iPad to the TV it is not allowed because it thinks I’m trying to record it. Bunch of BS.
- [R70] MLB Another Subscription: Already paid for MLB + but in order to watch more games you need another subscription - WTH???
- [R72] MLB Columbus Ohio: The blackouts for Columbus Ohio are ridiculous! If a club is playing in Pittsburgh there is no (zero) reason to blackout the game out in Columbus Oh. that is not a local game - no station is carrying the Pittsburgh games in Columbus. We barely get Cleveland or Cincinnati games here on any station here. The rule is simply idiotic.
- [R19] MiLB Not user friendly: Every time you try to get in the app you have to have a code sent to you. Should be set up so that it remembers the user.
- [R22] MiLB Can’t login: Tried to log in with MLB and it never sends the code to verify
- [R60] MiLB Hard to use: Took way too much time to login and verify my account. No idea why this app did not work well for me. I followed the instructions.
