MLB vs MiLB
For dedicated baseball fans, MLB offers a more comprehensive experience for watching major league games, while MiLB is better for following minor league baseball and its developing talent.
MLB provides extensive coverage of major league games, stats, and news, though users frequently complain about blackouts and technical issues. MiLB focuses on minor league baseball, offering a platform for fans to follow up-and-coming players, but it also struggles with ticket access and app functionality.
Head to head
You are a fan of Major League Baseball and want comprehensive coverage of MLB games, stats, and news, and are willing to navigate potential blackout restrictions and occasional technical glitches R2R5R11.
You primarily follow Minor League Baseball, enjoy tracking developing players, and appreciate the focus on MiLB teams, even with some limitations in features and occasional ad interruptions .
Evidence note: Both apps have a significant number of recent negative reviews, particularly regarding login issues and ticket access, which impacts their overall lifetime ratings. The free vs. paid asymmetry is notable for MLB, where many complaints stem from paid subscriptions not delivering expected content due to blackouts.

- [R2] MLB The Best: My favorite for following baseball.
- [R5] MLB Great app: This app shows me all I need to know having missed the games I want to see. Great job.
- [R8] MLB I feel as though…: …I’m in the stadium which is just across town 😃
- [R11] MLB Great: Great for checking stats and how your team is doing
- [R1] MLB Junk app: Bought subscription, downloaded app. Guess what? App is broken and won't let me login, so no baseball for me. MLB, FIX THIS APP. Update: Developer said to reset my password. Too bad the ids.mlb.com URL won't load in whatever JS pop-up this app is using, therefore I STILL CAN'T LOGIN.
- [R3] MLB Connection loss: Buy this channel every year and I lose connection loss. It doesn’t stay connected. It’s hard to maneuver, but I love the MLB follow the Yankees.
- [R4] MLB Tx: Hard to find already purchased tickets
- [R21] MLB Great for iPhone / Sux for iPad: Works great w/my iPhone 14+, but absolutely sucks with my iPad Air 3rd Gen. App won’t open. Frequently have to delete and reinstall.
- [R30] MLB Mediocre: The app works well unless you want to cast to a TV or a ven through a smart TV app. Part of the time it won’t automatically go to the live feed and it also won’t cast right away. It takes a long time to load and at time won’t ever load so I’m forced to watch it on my phone or laptop instead of in a big tv.
- [R34] MLB 3 months later & still iPad issues: Well MLB congrats. After 3 months you finally got the app back to loading on iPad but that’s where the good news stops. Anything I choose on the “watch” tab doesn’t work. Highlights, past videos, MLB Network…all of those are still not working.
- [R6] MLB Random blacksouts!: Great viewing. However when you pay for all the games you should get all the games.
- [R7] MLB Waste of money: $80 bucks just to watch one team. Weekly blackouts with games on other streaming services. Vizio TV’s don’t have or won’t allow the app, so if I try to mirror my iPad to the TV it is not allowed because it thinks I’m trying to record it. Bunch of BS.
- [R10] MLB Another Subscription: Already paid for MLB + but in order to watch more games you need another subscription - WTH???
- [R12] MLB Columbus Ohio: The blackouts for Columbus Ohio are ridiculous! If a club is playing in Pittsburgh there is no (zero) reason to blackout the game out in Columbus Oh. that is not a local game - no station is carrying the Pittsburgh games in Columbus. We barely get Cleveland or Cincinnati games here on any station here. The rule is simply idiotic.
- [R9] MLB Ads: I understand why we have ads. But PLEASE can they not interrupt the announcers on either audio. Please. I get it, it’s capitalism. Figure it out.
- [R45] MLB DG: Good stuff but could be so much better I listen to a lot of games via the radio feature and MLB’s own ads tend to interrupt the feed at crucial in game moments, tied game, bases loaded, two outs, 3-2 in the bottom of the 9th and the feed cuts for an oppo-taco ad!!!! So annoying
- [R48] MLB Nice live game audio but irritating ad breaks: I use the app to listen to the live radio broadcasts of games. It’s good value for that. But I can’t stand MLB’s repetitive audio clips during breaks in play. It’s torture. Just give me silence.
- [R15] MLB Blackouts: Do something about the Blackouts. If Chicago plays St. Louis in Chicago I can’t watch in MLB living in Memphis??????
- [R61] MiLB Can’t get my season tickets: On our way to the game and now the app keeps saying something went wrong so we won’t have our season tickets
- [R70] MiLB Unable to print tickets on ipad: Tried to print tickets cannot see full screen and not able to continue to print tickets cannot
- [R73] MiLB Terrible interface: The system is co fused with MLB and I can never access my tickets this way. Almost not worth going.
- [R76] MiLB Issue with accessing tickets: I can’t access my tickets. The app is very slow when pulling up the tickets. It doesn’t matter if I’m on cellular data or WiFi.
- [R39] MLB Sign in... again: ...and again, and again, and again, and again, and again...
- [R67] MiLB Can't Sign In: Continually unable to authenticate my account information, requiring me to create a new password every time I try to login.
- [R79] MiLB Not user friendly: Every time you try to get in the app you have to have a code sent to you. Should be set up so that it remembers the user.
