PicCollage vs Canva
Canva is the better choice for a wider range of design needs due to its extensive features and templates, despite some usability and pricing concerns, while PicCollage struggles with recent changes that severely limit its free functionality.
Canva offers a comprehensive design suite with vast templates and features for various projects, though some users find it less intuitive and its pricing structure frustrating. PicCollage excels at simple photo collages but recent updates have made many core functions, including saving, exclusive to its paid subscription, leading to significant user dissatisfaction.
Head to head
Evidence note: The evidence for PicCollage is heavily skewed towards recent negative reviews regarding its shift to a paid-only model for basic functions. While Canva also has significant complaints about its free tier limitations and subscription pricing, its broader feature set and positive reviews for its paid version provide a more balanced view.

- [R4] PicCollage Deleted all my collages (TWICE): The good: Lots of free stickers, backgrounds, etc- but includes watermark. Pretty intuitive, can save, duplicate, and edit images. The bad: I use this app to make templates for posts that I edit and use again. TWICE the app has inexplicably deleted ALL my collages- not after an uninstall or update, no warning, just gone and not recoverable. Considering switching
- [R5] PicCollage ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: Honestly this is really good at making Collages. I have tried so many apps for picture editing, and this one is by far the best one. I would totally recommend it. But the only thing is, if you're making videos of pictures, this app is usually only for collages, (as you can see in the name.) So, I would recommend CapCut if you're making it with pictures.
- [R6] PicCollage $$: Nothing fun to use. Almost every option is locked. I hate when they say try for free and you spend time editing and then it says buy now😩
- [R12] PicCollage Good except from two things: Pick college is really good except from two things all the good collages you have to pay for And it is £34.99 a year WHAT !!!!!! And if you want to have a bit of fun on the app you can press the enchanted video and photo editor, but you can only use it three times if you haven’t got the premium templates which is where you have to pay and when I tried to use the encha
- [R8] PicCollage Fun, easy to use and works well.: I’ve made some of these for friends and they’re frame worthy. Good ap.
- [R11] PicCollage Love it: I love this app. It’s very user friendly!
- [R20] PicCollage Easy & works great: No tutorials - pretty intuitive and very functional
- [R27] PicCollage I wish: I wish it was like more easier to discover I only found out through my friend, I also wish it shows more clear instructions to make you’re own collage but I love it and it’s great for quirky little profile pictures
- [R3] PicCollage I love pic collage but…: I love PicCollage, but no matter what I do I cannot transfer my paid account over to my new phone. Very frustrating. I followed everything it said to do and watch YouTube videos even. I am using Canva for most things now and may have to cancel my membership.
- [R45] PicCollage Ok…: It just keeps kicking me off and not working so it’s 2 stars
- [R82] Canva Typecraft Impossible: I cannot update the text content on typecraft at all on mobile. The submit edit does appear when I try to make edits.
- [R1] PicCollage Cheap: Used to be a great app but now you can’t even save a collage without having a subscription. I’ve used this app for years and sadly will be deleting to find something better :/
- [R10] PicCollage You can no longer save or download collages: Every time I try to save/download my collage or edit, all of a sudden it wants me to subscribe to their damn premium in order to see it! Not a good look. I used to love this app and use it all the time until yall decided to get greedy…💔
- [R35] PicCollage need refund: I did a free trial and I wasn’t able to cancel it in time so now £34.99 has come out of my bank account , I’d like a refund for this please I cannot find contact info for you
- [R70] Canva GREEDY THIEVES!: claimed a FREE 14 day trial, got charged full price immediately. at the end of the TRIAL, i was charged full price AGAIN. they refuse to refund because my subscription is through apple and not canva directly. I’ve been supporting this app for YEARS when it was $7/month back in 2020 and the downhill this app has taken is despicable honestly. i will NEVER support this app ever again
- [R71] Canva The amazing wonders of Campa: Amazing. Customer service has hundreds of templates video editing your name. Have a good luck exploring on camera.
- [R16] PicCollage Money hungry!: Used to be able to get none subscription features that would allow you to save with a watermark. Now you can’t even save the collage!
- [R39] PicCollage Can’t save anything: This used to be an amazing app but now I’m unable to save any of my collages without having to pay. It’s advertised still as a free app but not since 30/3/26 😢 I’m gonna have to find something else now
- [R64] Canva Not intuitive! Very hard for beginners: Canva is very hard to use if you are not an expert! It’s not intuitive. It’s very difficult to navigate. I would not recommend unless you take their courses to understand how to be an expert at using the app.
- [R72] Canva Coach: Really great app but very hard to navigate when you are unfamiliar with the design aspect of Canva
- [R77] Canva Love this app!: Easy to work and helps me to be creative without needing a a bunch of graphic design skills
- [R83] Canva An app for All ages!: Easy to Learn by Trial & Error
- [R51] PicCollage Appaling: I started making a wallpaper for my ipad and it was great! At first then it wanted me to subscribe to continue editung which is £3 per month i could not believe what i was seeing i am 12 years ols and i shoukd beable to make just one collage formy favourite singers please fix this immediatly thank you
- [R107] Canva Almost perfect: My only qualm is their video editor. It’s terrible. i have to use VN editor instead. But overall it is a very good suite for content creation. I like enough to subscribe.
- [R108] Canva Great for some things, not for everything: Canva is great for short-form social media content but terrible for editing longer videos, it’s honestly the most frustrating video editing app I’ve ever used. It’s ridiculously slow, glitchy and lags constantly even when doing it on a laptop in google chrome. The clips either stop playing completely or stay stuck in the video in playback when they’re not
