PicCollage vs Picsart AI Photo Editor
PicCollage is generally preferred for its collage-making capabilities and ease of use, despite recent complaints about paywalls, while Picsart offers broader editing features but faces significant criticism for its aggressive monetization and AI integration.
PicCollage excels as a dedicated collage maker, praised for its intuitive interface and creative options, though recent updates have made many features subscription-only. Picsart offers a wider range of photo editing and design tools, but its user experience is heavily impacted by numerous paywalls, subscription price hikes, and a controversial shift towards AI features.
Head to head
Pick PicCollage if you prioritize a straightforward, intuitive app primarily for making photo collages and value a generally positive user experience for its core function R5R8R11R20. It's also a good choice if you're willing to pay for a subscription to unlock all features, as many users still find it the best for collages R5.
Pick Picsart AI Photo Editor if you need a more comprehensive photo editing and graphic design tool with a wide range of features beyond just collages, and you are comfortable with a subscription model . It's also suitable if you're interested in experimenting with AI tools, despite some user dissatisfaction .
Evidence note: Both apps have a significant number of recent negative reviews, primarily centered around their shift towards more aggressive subscription models and paywalls. While PicCollage's lifetime rating is higher, recent reviews for both apps show a strong negative skew due to these monetization changes. The free vs. paid asymmetry is evident, as many negative reviews come from users frustrated by features that were once free now requiring payment.

- [R1] PicCollage Cheap: Used to be a great app but now you can’t even save a collage without having a subscription. I’ve used this app for years and sadly will be deleting to find something better :/
- [R4] PicCollage Deleted all my collages (TWICE): The good: Lots of free stickers, backgrounds, etc- but includes watermark. Pretty intuitive, can save, duplicate, and edit images. The bad: I use this app to make templates for posts that I edit and use again. TWICE the app has inexplicably deleted ALL my collages- not after an uninstall or update, no warning, just gone and not recoverable. Considering switching
- [R5] PicCollage ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: Honestly this is really good at making Collages. I have tried so many apps for picture editing, and this one is by far the best one. I would totally recommend it. But the only thing is, if you're making videos of pictures, this app is usually only for collages, (as you can see in the name.) So, I would recommend CapCut if you're making it with pictures.
- [R10] PicCollage You can no longer save or download collages: Every time I try to save/download my collage or edit, all of a sudden it wants me to subscribe to their damn premium in order to see it! Not a good look. I used to love this app and use it all the time until yall decided to get greedy…💔
- [R8] PicCollage Fun, easy to use and works well.: I’ve made some of these for friends and they’re frame worthy. Good ap.
- [R11] PicCollage Love it: I love this app. It’s very user friendly!
- [R20] PicCollage Easy & works great: No tutorials - pretty intuitive and very functional
- [R30] PicCollage Not easy for a non tech person: Love it when I get it right it’s fab
- [R3] PicCollage I love pic collage but…: I love PicCollage, but no matter what I do I cannot transfer my paid account over to my new phone. Very frustrating. I followed everything it said to do and watch YouTube videos even. I am using Canva for most things now and may have to cancel my membership.
- [R6] PicCollage $$: Nothing fun to use. Almost every option is locked. I hate when they say try for free and you spend time editing and then it says buy now😩
- [R12] PicCollage Good except from two things: Pick college is really good except from two things all the good collages you have to pay for And it is £34.99 a year WHAT !!!!!! And if you want to have a bit of fun on the app you can press the enchanted video and photo editor, but you can only use it three times if you haven’t got the premium templates which is where you have to pay and when I tried to use the encha
- [R35] PicCollage need refund: I did a free trial and I wasn’t able to cancel it in time so now £34.99 has come out of my bank account , I’d like a refund for this please I cannot find contact info for you
- [R82] Picsart AI Photo Editor I can’t cancel my subscription: I’ve tried everything…
- [R88] Picsart AI Photo Editor Steals money: Charged $90 without even notified of the trial ending like many apps do. So now I have to put a claim for a refund or my bank. Like are you kidding me rn???
- [R16] PicCollage Money hungry!: Used to be able to get none subscription features that would allow you to save with a watermark. Now you can’t even save the collage!
- [R39] PicCollage Can’t save anything: This used to be an amazing app but now I’m unable to save any of my collages without having to pay. It’s advertised still as a free app but not since 30/3/26 😢 I’m gonna have to find something else now
- [R63] Picsart AI Photo Editor It’s okay: It works good if you get it perfect but it is very expensive I payed for the $10 monthly and got to make 2 videos today and now I can’t make anymore until next month. My opinion, not worth it.
- [R69] Picsart AI Photo Editor Too expensive: Nice, but they want to charge you for everything I bought a subscription for a year and then they wanna charge me for credits to use AI tools on top of that so they’ve made it too expensive to use. I canceled the subscription
- [R76] Picsart AI Photo Editor Use Free Only: The app is pretty good and you can do a lot of photo editing with it. They have the most basic features available on pro which is a subscription for $11.99 per week!!! I don’t recommend getting this, just use the free version. The “pro” version is just basic AI editing that will absolutely mess up your face or other people’s faces when you edit them, especially in group settings. If
- [R87] Picsart AI Photo Editor Insane Subscription Hikes: Going from $12.99 to $15.99 was bad enough, now it is up to $18.99 for the same service I once had for $12.99. I gave up. When are these companies going to learn raising subscriptions aren’t the answer. Eventually the working class is going to break and limit which subscriptions they are willing to pay for.
- [R64] Picsart AI Photo Editor Not as great as it was back then years ago.: Cannot even to a simple text message in the photo and save it without them trying to make me pay for the app? When did this app involve so much money over the smallest things.
- [R67] Picsart AI Photo Editor Sucks: First time on Picsart and i can’t even save anything, no screen shots and you have to pay to just do stuff. I thought this app was gonna be fun. Sucks!
- [R75] Picsart AI Photo Editor Pay to play: Decent features and good UI but the stuff they put behind a paywall in this app is despicable. You can't even put text on an image without getting locked out of downloading a copy of or screenshotting your work. Fifteen years ago there were apps on the Android store with more and better features that were entirely free with just a small banner ad in the bottom of the screen. Now we ha
- [R78] Picsart AI Photo Editor bruh: makes me pay for almost everything i cant even screenshot my own work
