Fishing Spots vs Fishbrain
Fishbrain is the better choice for anglers seeking a comprehensive social fishing experience, despite some issues with app functionality and premium pricing, as Fishing Spots lacks sufficient review data for a fair comparison.
Fishbrain offers a strong social network for anglers, allowing users to share catches and discover local hotspots, though it faces criticism for its premium pricing and occasional technical glitches. Fishing Spots, while highly rated, has no user reviews provided for a direct comparison.

- [R3] Fishbrain So much potential, please listen to this FishBrain: The app is so good and is the only one of its kind which makes it unique. Anglers need this but it needs some work. First of all, it seems as though all the gear is American or whatever, so please add English gear such as rods, reels and bait like boilies etc... second of all, try to make the app more like Instagram, exactly like Instagram anyway
- [R6] Fishbrain Basis is great but needs a little more: The app is great and is lovely to have a social network for anglers. However i live in the U.K. and have found many of the gear we have over here is not on the app such as the rods and reels and a lot of baits. It’d be great to see a big update or the ability to add your own gear yourself instead of choosing from a set selection. Such as adding certain boili
- [R10] Fishbrain FISH: I LOVE THIS APP!!!! A fishing Instagram! Didn’t think the internet was smart enough to do something this great! @JamiePridham
- [R11] Fishbrain Could be good but does not let you add gear!: I could just about forgive them for the rip-off premium costs if you could add gear, does not have the make and models of any of my gear, I think most of the stuff is from the USA as it does not have any of the U.K. reels I have, nor the rods and no where to add equipment. Has potential but a long way to go before any real use.
- [R1] Fishbrain Confused: I cannot sign in to Fishbrain. It will not load and it just keeps me on the home screen. Would u be able to tell me what’s wrong?
- [R4] Fishbrain Doesn’t work on IOS: Despite repeated updates this app hasnt worked properly on IOS since February personally I’d avoid at all costs - if the free version is this bad there is no way I would pay for the premium version
- [R27] Fishbrain Great easy to use and informative!: Love using this app- fantastic upto date info and news!
- [R32] Fishbrain Perfect: It runs smoothly and I have no had it crash yet for the 2 months since I’ve had it. The post are good and I’ve not seen any toxic comments either and everyone seems rlly nice
- [R48] Fishbrain Love it👍🏼: The app is great for Angler’s alike but when uploading a catch the locations are wrong? I think the locations in the uk need updating because it’s not the right locations for where it is etc but all in all great app and can’t go wrong bcos it’s free👌🏼👌🏼 keep it up guys
- [R50] Fishbrain Good but needs a little bit more: Right... so great app to use and it has some nice features. It needs to keep up to date with the main bait suppliers so people can actually see what others use. Now.. I’m in Poland for two days and I’ve decided to load the map and see what’s around me. I could see the depths in random lakes and rivers in Poland. I did the same for Germany, Belgium , France. I did
- [R7] Fishbrain Money talks: Had this app a few years ago it was totally free now they want money to use it your a mug if you pay from being free to you charging rip off Britain
- [R9] Fishbrain Unbelievable: Really ? £68.99/year.
- [R13] Fishbrain Fishbrain: New to the app, don’t like it keeps trying to get me to subscribe to open features
- [R15] Fishbrain Request to cancel subscription unanswered: I tried out Fishbrain for a trip but it didn’t work for me. I messaged them through the app to request that my account be cancelled to avoid the yearly subscription charge on 8th July, but I heard no response. I have since been charged with the year subscription of £59! I am still trying to get in touch with them to sort this out!
- [R19] Fishbrain Good app but expensive: Great app but being expensive is the only down side
- [R17] Fishbrain 👌👌👌: Great app a bit like Instagram but with fishies only👍👍👍👍👍👍
- [R20] Fishbrain Great app: Love the app very good for communicating to other fellow anglers
- [R28] Fishbrain Good: It’s a brilliant app for all kinds of fisherman, I’ve seen anglers upload stunning fish in my local area and it’s a good way to communicate with anglers who are nearby to get info on lakes you haven’t fished yet. I do admit there needs to be more of an update to add uk based suppliers ie, fox etc as it’s just coming up with American equipment
