PocketLife Calendar vs TimeTree
TimeTree is the better choice for shared family calendars and consistent performance, while PocketLife Calendar struggles with data loss and inconsistent features despite its customization options.
PocketLife Calendar offers strong customization but is plagued by critical issues like data deletion and poor support. TimeTree excels as a shared calendar with good usability, though its free version is hampered by intrusive ads and recent UI changes have frustrated some users.
Head to head
you prioritize deep customization options like color-coding and event visibility, and are willing to risk potential data loss and deal with less responsive support R5.
Evidence note: Recent reviews for both apps show a negative skew, particularly regarding updates and reliability. For PocketLife Calendar, data loss is a recurring and severe issue. For TimeTree, recent UI changes and increased ad intrusiveness are major pain points.

- [R2] PocketLife Calendar Diana: I love this calendar but maybe in future you could add a drop down box for notes on each day. That would be so helpful for those of us with a bad memory.
- [R3] PocketLife Calendar Overall good App but missing a core feature: Reminders showing inside widget would be a core feature to add will attract a-lot of fantastical calendar users like me since they messed up their widget
- [R5] PocketLife Calendar Best calendar I’ve seen: Easy to use, colorful, customizable, compatible with other calendars.
- [R6] PocketLife Calendar Good but has limitations: Like the colors. Don’t understand why you can’t add dates beyond a year if the recurrent items go beyond a year?? And, I can’t change colors when using iPad to create, only phone?? And it loses previous years schedule
- [R19] PocketLife Calendar Settings are NOT USER FRIENDLY: When there is an update, it’s not always for the better. There used to be a QUICK EDIT where you just tapped on the event itself (after tapping on event on the date on the Calender) but now you actually have to tap the tiny little EDIT button, an EXTRA STEP! Also the is nothing clear in the settings on how to customize your calendar and how to make changes it’s abso
- [R24] PocketLife Calendar New upgrade: Too many steps to add something to the calendar. The blue arrive is in 2 different places at different times of adding and it is easy to X out info you’ve added.
- [R25] PocketLife Calendar Difficulty: Had to change a few things and having difficulty with the repeat portion
- [R1] PocketLife Calendar Hit by Scam: As soon as my calendar was linked, I was hit by a scam.
- [R4] PocketLife Calendar What is going on: I’ve been using and paying for this app for years then all of a sudden all my schedules have been deleted. Idk how to fix this.
- [R7] PocketLife Calendar Everything deletes: Deleting this garbage. This the is second time that my calendar has been wiped clean on its own. My whole month was filled and now it’s emptied and nothing happened to make that happen.
- [R10] PocketLife Calendar Scam Alerts: I’ve been using PocketLife for years and have loved it but this year I keep getting scam alerts that fill in on every day for months and I have to go back to their origin and delete them . Annoying.
- [R15] PocketLife Calendar I went back to iOS calendar …: I’ve used PocketLife Calendar for more than 10 years, but have decided to go back to the free Apple iOS calendar. I asked many years ago about a lifetime subscription for a one-time rate, y’all replied that it was being considered. As this subscription option has never materialized I have decided to stop using PocketLife Calendar. Wishing you continued success w
- [R27] PocketLife Calendar Porn: I’ve loved this calendar up until now. I use the free version because that’s all I’ve needed, so I have ads. In the last few months I’ve noticed some of my ads include naked women. I have a family and sometimes my kids use my phone. Totally not ok.
- [R34] PocketLife Calendar What happens to this app??: This app used to be great for keeping track of past medical appointments and medications. You could create an archive calendar and edit one event to that calendar without effecting future recurring events. Now when you do that all future events get messed up. Does this app have any support anymore??? I’d assume so since you have to pay for each year’s functionality. Ple
- [R13] PocketLife Calendar Still not fixed: I have text you several times about losing info from 2020-2024. Yet I still have all info from 2015-2023 I have done what you say and I still don’t have it fixed 😡
- [R31] PocketLife Calendar YEAYARIGHT: Need more support How do I get training Need phone help
- [R18] PocketLife Calendar Loved till recently: The was the best calendar until recently. I have lost all my info three times. First time was able to restore from iCloud but the last 2 times it didn't restore. Another issue is the colors, I color code everything and every few days when I open the app all events are the same color, RED! So frustrating. I hope they get it fixed.
- [R65] TimeTree I love it: Me an my significant other have been looking for a calendar to share and this works great for us !
- [R71] TimeTree Wife-hub: I love this app very convenient and always recommend to my couples friends! I have Apple and hubs has android and this is so great for me keeping track of everything with our toddler and families. Allows him to see and edit also! You can add notes or locations for events and I’m a visual person so I color code certain things like Dr apt.
- [R77] TimeTree Perfect for personal and communal use.: I got this app in hopes of sharing my schedule with my girlfriend and keeping track of it myself. It is a godsend. There is no paywall so everything is accessible for free except non-essential decorations. I can see and interact with anyone on my calendar and add a multitude of useful information and visual. Best calendar app I’ve used.
- [R89] TimeTree Glen Bliss: This is a wonderful shared calendar system which is perfect for family and small business appointments. 5 stars!
- [R61] TimeTree 100% NOT worth it: Why can’t I export this calendar to something like Google Calendar?? I’m forced to use this one now. The ads at the top make the overall calendar hideous. Money hungry app that forces you to pay if you don’t want to see ads. Please just use Google calendar or Apple calendar.
- [R64] TimeTree ads: too many ads, very annoying. other than that works well.
- [R66] TimeTree Great Calendar for Fam, Obnoxious ads…: Pros: Great planner for keeping up to date with family. Convenient and easy to use. Easy to navigate and set up. Cons: Too many ads, many large and invasive. Ads take up 1/3 the screen. Gambling and casino ads. :( Recommendation: Make small banner ads at the bottom. Ads make the app look low quality and shady.
- [R67] TimeTree Used to be good: Greed has completely overtaken TimeTree. It used to be a good shared calendar with non invasive ads. Now they have pop ups take up the entire screen that you have to X out. Find a different calendar. I know I am now.
- [R40] PocketLife Calendar Information lost: I have had this calendar for many years and have liked it. But, in the last 3 months, all my inputted information on the calendar has been deleted 3 different times and I have to re-enter it. There is no customer support to find out why or how to get my information back.
