My Pollen Forecast vs IQAir AirVisual | Air Quality
IQAir AirVisual is the better choice for comprehensive air quality monitoring, while My Pollen Forecast is a decent option if you only need basic pollen information.
My Pollen Forecast offers basic pollen tracking but struggles with accuracy, detailed breakdowns, and consistent functionality. IQAir AirVisual, while experiencing recent technical issues, provides more comprehensive and generally reliable air quality data, including pollen, and is highly valued by users for health management.
Head to head
you need a simple, free app primarily for general pollen forecasts and an allergy diary, and are willing to tolerate occasional inaccuracies, limited detail, and potential functionality issues R20R44.
you require comprehensive air quality information beyond just pollen, including details on pollution and wildfires, and value an app that helps manage health conditions like asthma, provided recent technical bugs are addressed .
Evidence note: Both apps are free to download. My Pollen Forecast has a paid option, but one user expressed disappointment after paying for information available for free . Recent reviews for both apps show a negative skew due to significant functionality issues, particularly for IQAir AirVisual, which has many reports of crashing or being unusable.

- [R1] My Pollen Forecast Useless: This was useless! I know the pollen today is quite high and the app is posting low to none! Totally wrong!
- [R2] My Pollen Forecast Accurate: Great to know what to expect allergy wise before going out
- [R4] My Pollen Forecast Doesn't seem useful for just ragweed/grass: There's no way to tell the app which kinds of allergens you care about. Makes this pretty useless for me. If you have all the allergies, otherwise seems nice.
- [R8] My Pollen Forecast Love it!!!: I like this and this helps so much with my allergies it also reminds me to take my meds thank you very much for this.
- [R3] My Pollen Forecast Notifications have basically zero info: Springtime in Florida. Everyday I get a notification “pollen count is high”. No info on the main pollen contributor, you have to open the app for that. Instead of writing “open the app”, why not list the dominant pollen type? People know you can open the app, no need for a daily reminder of that. Also: we had major rain storms the other day. And yet the ap
- [R6] My Pollen Forecast You can’t: You can’t add other cities to this application without being in that city and the search engine doesn’t seem to work at all for locating any other city to get pollen info on the city so I don’t really recommend that you download this app because it doesn’t give you many choices or options
- [R12] My Pollen Forecast Need Pollen Count on Website !!!: The website is good BUT it should give the Pollen Count for your location each time you log on. I used to receive daily pollen count notifications when the pollen reached a certain level. The app no longer does that. Why not ???
- [R19] My Pollen Forecast Terrible app: Can’t keep the app on home page & have to open my App Store each time I want to check pollen count. Doesn’t give an actual pollen count of grasses trees mold, etc. just a color code of high low moderate, etc.
- [R20] My Pollen Forecast So helpful: This app is so simple & helpful. How high the pollen is & what the highest pollen is from. Excellent!
- [R28] My Pollen Forecast Can’t read it: I can’t even read the blurb because it’s covered by an ad and every time I tap or try to scroll down me if I want to use my current location or pick my own and no matter how many times it’s the same thing. I’m not going to pay just to try the app. The info seems incredibly limited anyway.
- [R33] My Pollen Forecast Pretty good; missing a couple of vitals: I like having a simple app to check the pollen count; however, these things would really improve it: 1. Dewpoint reading. Knowing the heat/humidity is great, but the dewpoint is more useful for gauging comfort/breathe-ability outside. 2. Longer range predictions. Today is good; tomorrow’s better; 7-10 days ahead would be much better, for planning purposes.
- [R10] My Pollen Forecast uses quite a bit of power: The app does a good job of tracking pollen, however it is my third most power hungry app and the top for background power usage. I’m not sure why it needs so much background power, but 12% usage in one day on an 17 pro?
- [R11] My Pollen Forecast Great Resource!!!: Great way to keep up with allergies and plan out a course of action for the day!!!
- [R23] My Pollen Forecast Works great!: Works great!
- [R34] My Pollen Forecast Not so great: Was hopeful for this app with all the great reviews, but it only shows pollen count for 2 days at a time and then after a couple of days the app stopped working. Deleted it. I still can’t understand how it has so many 5 stars.
- [R15] My Pollen Forecast Type pollen: Doesn't identify the types of pollen
- [R30] My Pollen Forecast Pollen: It doesn’t show what is high ( trees or grass) just shows high or low. I would like to know what is high.
- [R40] My Pollen Forecast Dysfunctional: Worked well for a while. It’s a very simple app with simple forecasts of allergens. The last few days the forecast is not working (and I have updated my app). Unfortunate because I was relying on this for my daily allergy forecast.
- [R14] My Pollen Forecast Love the app, BUT: This app is great. However, I wish you would allow me to log more previous days in my diary. I constantly forget to log days. You only allow yesterday and today logs. The unfortunate aspect is, I don’t know exactly how my allergies are doing for the day until the evening. The app should let you log yesterday’s and then the day before yesterday. Not today I don’t know how today’s
- [R44] My Pollen Forecast Just Amazing!!: I got this app just hoping to have something to check to see the pollens, but I was gladly surprised to see an allergy tracker, and even after my second month it showed me what I was most allergic to, based on my entries. Many thanks to the makers of this app! One thing I might suggest is to have a little more statistics? I find I would like a little more than ‘med-high’ to rank t
- [R56] My Pollen Forecast Helps me keep track: I love knowing exactly which allergens are in bloom and the feature that shows me a picture of the culprit allergen if it’s available. The diary feature that helps me to know which allergens I need to prepare for year after year. The forecast is nice too. I have had this app for a few years and it’s one of the better apps on my phone.
