TradingView vs MetaTrader 4
TradingView is generally preferred for its comprehensive charting and customization, despite recent mobile app issues and pricing concerns, while MetaTrader 4 is favored for its reliability and ease of use for trade execution.
TradingView offers advanced charting tools and extensive customization, making it a powerful platform for analysis, though users report mobile app glitches and high pricing. MetaTrader 4 is praised for its reliability and straightforward trade execution, but users desire more modern features and charting capabilities.
Head to head
You need advanced charting capabilities, custom indicators, and a comprehensive platform for in-depth market analysis, especially if you primarily use the desktop version R2.
You prioritize a reliable, easy-to-use platform for executing trades and prefer a minimalist interface, or if you are looking for a free app that is widely supported by brokers .
Evidence note: Reviews for MetaTrader 4 are generally more positive and less detailed, often expressing simple satisfaction or requesting features. TradingView reviews, while often praising its capabilities, contain more specific complaints about mobile app performance, pricing, and support. The free-to-download nature of MT4 means users are less likely to complain about price, unlike TradingView's paid tiers.

- [R27] TradingView Recent update - lots of errors (red !): After the most recent update, many of the volume based drawings (frvp, avwap, etc..), and indicators, either don’t load, or load but soon stop working and show a red exclamation mark indicating they have failed. Had no issues prior to this update..
- [R10] TradingView Can’t figure it out.: Dnt know how to use it. It’s not easy to use.
- [R12] TradingView App is kind of hard to navigate: Although this app is amazing on a computer or MacBook, this app really seems to fall short on the cell phone. Maybe it is better on iPad, but it is not compatible with iPhone. Very confusing and unclear.
- [R13] TradingView Confused: Very Confusing
- [R30] TradingView Complex, capable but not intuitive: New Users challenge to get used to the interface and features both for the App and the Website. There should be a dedicated helpline to get off the ground …
- [R6] TradingView Tôi không thể mở biểu đồ: Phần biểu đồ luôn hiển thị màu trắng xoá kể cả tôi đã cố gắng gỡ app cài lại
- [R7] TradingView Full screen chart mode: On my iPhone 13, the chart works normally, but when I tap the full-screen button, the screen turns completely black and no chart is displayed. This happens with all symbols.
- [R19] TradingView High premium for broken crashing and freezing app: Loses will be reimbursed in courts while alternative is been build, TradingView blocked my build indicators because it caused and created risk to the MM but they don’t understand what I shall build to destroy all who intervene shall we see

- [R4] TradingView refund: try to get a refund that they charged me for two plans during the 4 th of july special
- [R16] TradingView Overpriced: Overpriced
- [R28] TradingView My trend lines: So frustrated every time I use the mobile version of this app. The trend lines from my desktop version are never updated and it makes it super risky when do you have to leave the house and you’re in a current trade. Trading view should be free with all the glitches
- [R1] TradingView .: No customer support
- [R9] TradingView Still believe in you guys: The most frustrating thing is that you aren't even able to report an issue. This AI chat is useless, it looks like it generates action buttons that are not clickable or not working when clickable. Very inconsistent. What I wanted to suggest: Please add an option to disable this new "AI generated earning summary"(when clicking on "e" icon at the bottom of the chart). It's
- [R22] TradingView Starting to Become Sloppy - PATHETIC APP: Payments are becoming issues, Trading View randomly logger my account out - saying it was flagged for fraud. (umm you don’t even utilize money or credits so something is fishy here) & they just continuously apologize for problems that they should have resolved weeks (if not months) ago. People only like you because there is no other options that are as in
- [R40] TradingView Mobile app is horrible: If I could give zero stars I would. TradingView on mobile used to be fine. Now it’s super glitchy, loading charts takes forever, and sometimes the app just crashes.
- [R58] TradingView App doesn’t work anymore: The chart doesn’t load anymore the app doesn’t work anymore For some reason even tho it’s up to date
- [R66] MetaTrader 4 It’s serves a purpose: The app could do with a few more features, one it desperately needs is alerts for when price hits certain limits as a lot of other apps don’t align with the MT4 price
- [R67] MetaTrader 4 NEVER UPDATED: I usually don’t write reviews, but I’ve gotta do this, this app is soooo under managed, in evolving times of AI, you still have to manually calculate your take profit and stop loss, unlike MT5 where it’s actually very good, this app is purposefully under managed, and it’s slowly going into extinction because there are competitors even against the MT5, please meta team, can you make
- [R97] MetaTrader 4 Decent software.: Great for impulsive orders. Supported by most brokers. Not the easiest way to markup charts. A bit to small but in a pinch is alright. Possible improvements. • Price alerts and trend line alerts • Adding additional indicators. • Risk management features for account size Adjustable on purchase window. Display warning of percent and lot size taken. Could probably go on and on
- [R52] TradingView Scammers: No support, no one to get a hold of regarding refund for false advertisement. The subscription says 30 days free but immediately charged me and once I cancelled my subscription i was unable to contact customer service. Apparently to get any help from them you have to pay for it!
- [R55] TradingView Credit card issues and double charging: Awful customer service. No phone number and you can’t open a ticket while on a trial subscription but my issue was their problem charging my card to no longer be on a trial subscription. Now both my cards have been charged.
